Pros
The mission of serving patients is meaningful, and many of the frontline staff genuinely care about the people they serve.

Without question, the best part of working here was the people I worked alongside. The coworkers I met during my time with the organization were incredibly supportive, compassionate, and dedicated despite the challenges we faced. Many of those professional relationships turned into lifelong friendships, and I am grateful for the connections I made. The staff on the ground consistently worked hard to support one another, ano they were often the reason difficult days felt manageable.

Cons
Before writing this review, I intentionally took a few days to reflect on my experience and the impact this role had on me both mentally and physically.

Unfortunately, my time with this organization was marked by a lack of support, excessive micromanagement, and what often felt like productivity expectations being wrapped in the language of service and compassion. While the organization consistently promoted a mission-focused culture, many day-to-day decisions appeared to place a greater emphasis on volume and revenue than on supporting staff or delivering sustainable, high-quality patient care.

As a provider, I was scheduled for 41 patient-facing hours per week with no dedicated administrative time and little opportunity for negotiation. In addition, employees were expected to arrive 15 minutes early each day for morning huddles, bringing the total scheduled hours to approximately 84.5 hours per pay period. Despite being classified as a salaried, exempt employee, I was often treated as though I were hourly. While the organization expected flexibility when schedules ran over, patients were added at the last minute, or work extended beyond scheduled hours, that same flexibility was rarely extended to providers. Routine medical appointments often required the use of PTO, even if I was only arriving an hour late or leaving an hour early. It was frustrating to be held to the standards of an hourly employee when it came to tracking time away from work, while simultaneously being expected to absorb additional hours without compensation or consideration. The expectation seemed to be that providers would consistently give more of their time, while receiving little flexibility in return.

The workload was unsustainable. Heavy schedules, frequent last-minute patient additions, and a lack of protected administrative time led to rapid burnout. I regularly left work mentally drained and physically exhausted. Over time, I began to dread coming to work each morning because I knew I would be carrying a significant mental and emotional burden with little support from leadership.

Perhaps most disappointing was that my concerns were repeatedly raised and largely ignored. It was only after I submitted my resignation that attempts were made to address the issues I had been highlighting for months. By that point, the damage had already been done, and the proposed solutions felt too little, too late.

Another ongoing challenge was that major clinical and operational decisions were frequently made by non-clinical leadership, with little to no input from the providers expected to implement them. Clinicians were often left to navigate changes that directly affected patient care without adequate support, training, or opportunity for feedback.
I genuinely wish my experience had ended differently. Instead, I left feeling undervalued, overworked, and taken advantage of.

My hope in sharing this review is to provide insight into the realities many clinicians may face within this organization and to encourage leadership to make meaningful changes that
support both employees and patients.

Advice to Management
Listen to your clinicians before they reach the point of burnout.
Provide realistic schedules, protected administrative time, ano meaningful opportunities for provider input. Supporting your staff should be more than a talking point—it should be reflected in operational decisions and workplace culture.

A typical day at Ethos is extremely overwhelming. The work load is impossible to complete daily and often, employees feel dissatisfied because they can never fully complete a task. Everything is always ongoing and instructions are often obscure. Practices and technologies used within the company, especially the EMR system, are extremely outdated. Even though the work load is already way too much, expect to be given at least 2 more tasks that need to be completed on a weekly basis, every week. When asked to have a clear list of expectations, there are lengthy pages of information. An office manager and a front desk are given the same job description; however, the front desk makes half as much as the office manager, while doing double the work load. Now that I have found another job, I would suggest skipping this one entirely. Save yourself the stress that becomes not only mental illness, but also physical illness. There are far better companies to work for that compensate well for your work ethic and take in to account the rise in cost of living. You won’t get a fair raise here and they will pretend that they consider what the cost of living is now, but I can assure you that they are always bluffing, one way or another. Your bright ideas do not matter. They do not take anyone seriously that knows a better way to operate in modern times. If you do not mold to their framework, expect to either have an unbearable work culture that slowly pushes you to your breaking point, or to get terminated. I personally was not terminated but while I worked there for 15 months, Two thirds of the hundred person company had turned over. I have never experienced a company with such a high turn over rate and that in itself speaks volumes for their culture. 2/3 people either left or were fired. Let that sink in.

This company does not support work-life balance, and there is a pervasive culture of micromanagement. The systems in use are extremely outdated—many of them originating from the 1990s—and leadership seems unaware or indifferent to how far behind the organization is from a modern operational standpoint.

The upper management team in operations is disconnected from current best practices and lacks the vision to bring the company up to date. Given that the small handful of main players in upper management have been with the company for many years, they are entrenched in outdated ways of thinking and operating. As a result, the organization continues to suffer from inefficient processes, outdated infrastructure, and alarmingly high employee turnover. 

This company has developed a reputation for terminating employees without any notice or explanation. There is a consistent pattern of individuals being let go abruptly, often without any formal reasoning provided.

Speaking up and offering differing perspectives—especially if they challenge the views of the small group in upper management—can put your job at risk. Employees who express valid concerns or alternative ideas often find themselves terminated within a week or two, again without clear communication or justification.
This company currently has several positions posted anyone interested in working here? Please look at these reviews and take them to heart. I didn’t pay attention to them and 100% regretted it. 

The only good part about this job was getting close with your patients and your coworkers... but don't get too comfortable with your colleagues because they will most likely be fired or leave because the turnover is incredibly high. This place only cares about how much money they are making. They make you believe that this will be the most fulfilling, fairly easy job at first but then the work piles on because people quit or they fire people for no good reason (with zero warning and no performance improvement plans) and you have to take on more work with no recognition. Upper management ("corporate") has no idea what it's really like working in the offices and they come in and only criticize when they don't even know what's going on. Communication is horrible. They are putting out fires constantly rather than proactively fixing processes. I have never felt more micromanaged in my entire life than at this job. I was constantly scared about my position in this company, regardless of how hard I worked and how much I was praised by my colleagues and patients. Upper management will act nice to your face and then talk garbage about you to everyone else. They hire people, "train" them and then fire them a month later for not performing to their "standards". No one can learn any job at this company in a month - much less, master it. Stay very far away from this company if you want to protect your mental health and sanity.

My experience has been formidable working at Ethos Health. In this company, patients are not just one more number. The staff and management will go beyond expectations to accommodate patients need, which is the main reason that somebody will choose a career in the healthcare industry. The satisfaction of the patients and seeing how they have improved after a couple of therapies is the best acknowledgment of the kind of work that is done at Ethos

Management regularly communicate with employees via multiple ways (emails, calls, facebook "workplace") and everybody has easy access to higher ups, from the office manager to the CEO. Having had the opportunity to work in different healthcare settings (hospitals, medical practices and clinical research facilities), I can attest that this type of communication is not the standard of the industry.

Also, I’ve experienced a great team chemistry, not only in the office that you are assigned to, but also among the different peer offices. Other team members try to help and answer any questions to the best of their ability, which for me, is essential for a good work environment.

I definitely recommend Ethos Health to any candidate that is looking for a place where they know that their work will make a difference and will be appreciated by every component of the organization.



I interviewed with this company, was offered the position the next day. My first day was great in my opinion. I shadowed different departments to start learning everything as I was hired to be the office manager. There was major miscommunication as to what my attire was supposed to be so when I showed up in professional business attire the HR person was confused and once I explained the situation (I was told in my interview and my official offer letter attire was to be business professional but I was allowed to wear navy blue scrubs) asked if I had access to navy scrubs to wear to which I said yes. I worked through my entire first day with no obvious issues. The next day before lunch hour I was fired for "not taking notes and my reaction to my attire". The reaction I had was confused at the miscommunication and I did actually take notes I just didn't write every word down. Taking notes was also somewhat impossible as out of 6 people I shadowed only 1 slowed down enough for me to write. Then as I am putting in other applications I found the job posting from the same company for a medical office receptionist for the location I was to be office manager of. The only thing I can think is they decided to promote from within AFTER hiring someone for the position and asking that I put in my two week notice at the job I currently had WITHOUT any official offer. WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN! 

I’m a previous employee and as long as you put in the work, this place is very rewarding.

You have to be able to multitask, have good communication skills, be able to cater to retirees and be caring.

Be self motivating is also a plus.

A typical day at work would vary depending on your role, however, in my role I would usually do the following;
Have my files ready to go for the day
Make sure everything is prepped for the nurse
Make sure office is clean

Once patients start to arrive, I would verify their insurance if they didn’t have that available previously. Then I would bring them back and get to know them and build rapport and give information to the nurse and then return to them to discuss what they would like to do.

Higher ups would always kind and made you feel like an actual family.

The hardest part of the job was just getting into the rhythm of things.

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing a patient on day one and then hearing their stories and being with them every step of the way throughout their treatment.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the healthcare benefits could be better.

I would go back to this place in heartbeat. 


Ethos is reactive, not proactive, and creates a toxic work environment. I was hired with promises of a regional management role, only to find out shortly after starting that the program no longer existed. They often bait-and-switch new hires, changing hours, pay, or responsibilities after you’ve already accepted the job.

Training is minimal, managers are given no real say, yet blamed for anything that goes wrong. Upper management has a “mean girl” mentality—if you suggest improvements, they retaliate instead of listening. Employees are also spread thin, forced to handle tasks from other departments to cut costs, which creates long workdays and no work–life balance.

Time off can be refused even when earned, and there’s no positive company culture because leadership sets the wrong tone. Overall, this company lacks transparency, professionalism, and respect for its employees.

Be prepared to ask for a high hourly wage, because you will need it to make up for the lack of hours you get. I was "furloughed" twice, once just because caseload was low & the second time because of Covid-19. Personally, this company does not provide a save environment for healthcare workers & it also has questionable ethics when it comes to their "groundbreaking" treatment for elderly folks. I liked a handful of people I got to work with in my office, but the corporate office is very disorganized and create a culture of fear. If you drink the kool-aid then they are more likely to keep you around. I have seen them let go of people who ask too many questions. The PTA role IS the first position to get cut when caseload drops so I would keep your PRN gig or just stay away completely. 

New employee, apparently the company has seen significant growth over the last several years and is experiencing growing pains due to staffing and in my opinion out dated policies and protocols. The leadership has great ideas and seem genuine when it comes to positive change but lack follow through due to constant fires. The office teams are tight knit and the few staff that make it are great and probably enjoy the thrill of the chaos. There is a great need for dedicated and consistent training in order to keep new hires on board. Unfortunately there is high turn over in most administrative and provider roles due to the overwhelming workload and lack of 1:1 support because again leaders are overwhelmed with filling gaps and unable to dedicate time to the bigger picture.
