The pay rate is lower than other comparable hospitals, but I do really appreciate the culture and overall experience of being an employee at Evergreen. Culture varies by department of course, but after working in several different units I can say that I mostly worked with great coworkers who were great collaborators and watched out for each other on busy workdays. This facility is also really good about treating any mistakes as teaching opportunities - they are very careful to never shame anyone, which makes things much safer for patients and staff. However, lean staffing means that breaks aren't easily covered (floor staff cover their own, usually - though union negotiations are addressing this). There are no IV or turn teams, so we help each other. Staffing levels also significantly dropped during Covid, and the company appears comfortable keeping them low even nowadays despite increased need as the surrounding community continues to grow. Per union negotiations in the last couple years they added a Resource Nurse position to assist with breaks and staffing - but that person pretty much always gets pulled within a couple hours to take a full load of patients every shift, so they don't really help much. Still, I've definitely seen staffing be worse in other hospitals. This industry tends to draw type-A personalities too, so many of my younger coworkers (who aren't yet burnt-out) feel fine with the staffing because they say they like the challenge. *shrug*

Like many healthcare systems appearances is everything. But what appears to be a good place to work quickly is revealed to be a nightmare where you dread coming to work. All the joy of helping people is taken away when you work for an organization that treats staff like a means to make millions as opposed to the main driver of everything they do.  If you are interested in the regret of your life, stress filled work days, and poor satisfaction then work here. 
This place will burn you up and  move on to the next unknowing candidate in a vicious cycle of turn over, poor management from top to bottom and little support for your effort to provide quality patient care.  The people writing good reviews of this place are either part of the problem or just lying about what it is really like to work for Evergreen Health to score points with their bosses.  I will say not every department has the same issues and everyone's experience can greatly vary but overall i would advise someone thinking about applying here, don't!!!!

Prepare patient for exam take and record patient history, medication reconciliation, and vital signs.
Assists provider with exams/surgical procedures and diagnostic testing.
Maintains appropriate sterile environment for clinical procedure or situation, adhering to Washington State standard for transmission precautions.
Administer oral medications and/or Injections (Intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular) per providers orders also perform venipunctures for the purpose of specimen collection.
Perform standard x-ray procedures, in clinic laboratory point-of-care (POC) testing , including all quality control elements, EKG, Spirometry.
As ordered by physicians following standard prescriptions refill protocols.
Answers and handles phone calls, schedule appointments coordinate patient flow to meet changing patient volume.
Cleans, organizes, and stock exams rooms also prepares surgical equipement for transport to central sterilization.
Provides assistance to team members and requests assistant when needed.

After two years of study employment with positive feedback, I applied for an additional Perdiem position in case management. I was going to fulfill this role in addition to my part time clinical position but ended up refusing because they offered me less pay than what I was making. I mean seriously who would take a second position for the hospital for less pay. They’re justification: an RN case manager was a “professional nursing position” so the pay was less. I hold a bachelor of science degree in nursing from a prestigious university. 
Management did not listen to the concerns of staff and allowed issues to grow. I found a large majority of staff very rude and unfriendly to one another I believe it was part of the culture that was cultivated from management down. 

Begging the work day by arriving and going over any information that I may need to know with my coworker. After which I am on my own, my part comes into to play when a Dr decides to admit a patient into the hospital if their condition is severe enough.
I would enter and begin going over the patients medications with them, making sure that I have all the correct information on how the patient takes his/her medications, at what time and if they are taking any over the counter medications as well. After the information has been obtained, I then update the hospitals computer system making sure that all the patients medications are entered correctly as to when the patient does get checked into a room in the hospital, the doctors there will know what medications the patients needs on a daily basis.

I was a new nurse in FMC. When more training and support was requested the educator was offended that we didn’t come directly to her and instead of giving extra training they said they would start us out with a lighter load. We only had 8 weeks of training scheduled (22 shifts). In the job description and at every other hospital in the area the training period is almost 2 times longer. I wasn’t told until after accepting the offer and working my first week that they wanted me to work a monthly rotating schedule of day and night shifts. A majority of Nursing staff is overworked and bitter. There was a recent management and educator changeover and I think they just need to figure it out and listen to what their staff needs. 

I loved almost everything about my job at EvergreenHealth Monroe. My co-workers were wonderful, it felt like a close-nit family. My immediate supervisor was promoted from the same position that I had, and she was the BEST. Our boss, was horrible. She was backstabbing and unethical. She pushed quite a few of us out. A lot of the nurses are rude and unwelcoming. However, some were really nice, supportive, and great to work with. There's a lot of unnecessary work place drama, with people talking bad about others, but in my department it felt a little better, as long as you just tried not to engage when confronted with people doing that.

To try and negotiate fair pay you talk to your clinic manager who then has to talk to their manager. Then it gets sent to HR for review then HR has to send it to a committee - not worth trying as they will take months to get back to you. If you're in a PSR position, almost always, management shows favoritism to anyone else that is above you. Such as: Medical assistants, RN's and most definitely the physicians. Patient service representatives get the short end of the stick and are expected to work through unrealistic expectations as far as work load. Other than that your fellow staff will understand you and you can develop great relationships with them as well as patients. 

I enjoyed my time at Evergreen Home Care Services (EHCS) as I oversaw the Intake/Call Center department, the marketing/liaison staff, the business office and the technology team. I learned that it's important to not micromanage most of the time to ensure that staff take responsibility for their duties and expectation. My co-workers did a great job for EHCS and they all grew day to day. The hardest part of the job was making sure that all staff understood customer service becuase they could be so busy. But we created a customer service plan and oriented all to it and EHCS has become the best.

Keep busy work all day. I  try to avoid management  they do not back up or fight for their department employees. Employees that have been around for awhile all work hard and work well together,  all the new younger employees are whiny babies. Hardest part is sometimes you need help moving  a patient but no one else is around. Also they let any doctor order any exam regardless of day or night or weekend for  things that are routine that could  or should be done in the daytime. I like helping patients by getting them to trust me by explaining things, being confident and being efficient and thinking ahead how to keep the patient comfortable.
