While I spend time owning and executing my individual responsibilities, a significant part of the day involves partnering with colleagues to troubleshoot challenges, exchange ideas, and brainstorm new approaches.

What I appreciate most is the balance between structure and autonomy. There are clear priorities and expectations, but also the flexibility to think critically and determine the best path forward. There are many things I enjoy about working at Exact Benefits Group, but for me it comes down to uncapped potential. At many companies, top performers eventually run into limits where growth increases, but their opportunities or compensation do not. What stands out here is the willingness to create opportunities for both agents and managers that are hard to find elsewhere. That mindset has made me a strong believer in what we’re building.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are two main sources of stress when working at Exact Benefits Group. The biggest is that many factors are outside your control. In the Medicare space, decisions made by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, carriers, or uplines can create added pressure and require the company to adjust quickly.

The second is the pace of constant change. While change can create opportunity, it can also be challenging to keep up at times. Success here requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to stay focused on what you can control.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is largely what you make it at Exact Benefits Group. It creates an interesting dynamic working primarily with 1099 agents, because some people want a highly connected team environment, while others prefer independence and the freedom to simply focus on producing.

What I appreciate is that the company continues looking for ways to strengthen culture without forcing it. A recent example is Nectar, a program that allows team members to give shoutouts and reward points to people who have positively impacted them. It’s a smart way to recognize contributions and build connection across a remote workforce.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Exact Benefits Group is never boring and hard to sum up in one list. I spend most of my time helping keep agents and managers supported, engaged, and focused on serving customers. I’m also always looking for ways to improve the experience for both managers and agents, because when people genuinely enjoy where they work, the energy is contagious and great things tend to happen.

I was initially excited to join Exact Medicare and was impressed by their messaging around culture, transparency, and growth opportunities. I accepted an offer in April 2025, completed all required certifications and onboarding steps—including sharing sensitive financial and personal information—and became Ready to Sell (RTS) with six Medicare Advantage carriers.

Despite fulfilling every requirement, communication became inconsistent, and timelines kept shifting. I was told I could start once I was RTS with one carrier and would be able to front calls while awaiting additional contracting. However, those conditions changed without warning, and I was given no clear updates or support.

To my surprise, my offer was terminated abruptly and without explanation. The reason provided was a vague reference to “Culture and Candor,” but I was never given any specific feedback or the opportunity to respond. This was especially disappointing given the company's stated value of welcoming and acting on feedback for continuous improvement.

The lack of transparency and professionalism during the final stages of my onboarding left me feeling disregarded and disrespected. I invested significant time, completed all requested tasks, and upheld every obligation expected of me—yet was dismissed before I ever had the chance to work.

Advice to Management:
If you promote a culture based on candor and transparency, reflect those values in how you treat new hires. Consistent communication, clear expectations, and the opportunity to respond to concerns are essential to building trust and maintaining a professional reputation.

Alright, so I was reading some of the reviews and I have feedback. I’m a top agent at exact who has been here for a year. I’m going to list each category for those who are interested. I’ve worked at SQ, TZ and GH, all major call centers doing inbound Medicare phone sales and I have enough experience to give my feedback. 

Leads- good- my conversion is higher than it was at any other company, my team averages 20% conversion every month as a whole and I have no complaints, people call in about food cards but that’s standard. They also call in about other benefits too which is nice. I love that we can. Pivot to selling ancillary products. 

Compensation- best I’ve been paid. At my other job I had a tier schedule to hit here at exact you are paid weekly. Have I had an issue with commissions before? Yes. Was it fixed in less than a week? Yes. Have I had an issue and even MORE at every other company I’ve worked with? Yes. This is just the name of the game in this industry, overall though I don’t have reoccurring issues and I sell A LOT. 60+ a month in lock in. 

Culture- the incentives and trips are awesome. We are spoiled here and I think some take that for granted. The people are diverse- you see all different ethnicities. I’ve seen the ceo taking selfies with some of the new agents on my team and HR comforting an agent who lost a parent and they were crying with the agent and supporting them. I do know they care and I’m not used to that at some of these other big places. 

Equipment - you buy your own. 

Overall I like exact. I think like any company they have kinks and things to sort out but they do care about us all. I’ve seen my manager sending out training things at 2am before. My manager is very caring and she does give it her all. I do love her and feel like most leadership here actually cares about you as a person not a number. I will say that and I’ve had a lot of experience where I was disregarded. I feel heard and valued here, that is my truth.

I’ve had an incredibly positive experience working with the leadership team at Exact. Their level of support truly sets them apart. They are not only approachable and responsive, but they also consistently demonstrate a genuine investment in their team’s success and well-being.

What stands out most is their willingness to listen. Whether it’s new ideas, concerns, or feedback, they create an environment where every voice feels valued. This openness fosters trust and encourages collaboration across all levels of the organization.

As a sales representative, one of the more stressful aspects of the role can be consistently meeting targets while managing a full pipeline. Balancing prospecting, follow-ups, client relationships, and closing deals—often all at once—can create pressure, especially during peak periods or competitive cycles.

Additionally, factors outside of your control, such as market conditions or client timelines, can add another layer of unpredictability to the role.

A typical day involves handling inbound and outbound calls with clients, helping them understand Medicare plan options, verifying eligibility, and guiding them through enrollment. You gain a deeper understanding of Medicare plans (Parts A, B, C, and D), as well as communication and sales skills. The role teaches patience, active listening, and how to explain complex information in a simple, clear way. It also builds resilience and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Management tends to be metrics-driven, with a strong emphasis on performance goals and compliance. Support can vary by team, but generally includes coaching sessions, call reviews, and ongoing training to help improve sales techniques and regulatory knowledge.
The culture is typically goal-oriented and competitive, especially in sales roles. There’s often a team atmosphere with incentives, contests, or bonuses tied to performance. At the same time, the environment can feel high-pressure due to quotas and compliance requirements.
The most challenging aspect is balancing sales targets with strict Medicare compliance rules. Handling difficult or confused customers while maintaining professionalism can also be demanding, especially during peak enrollment seasons.
Helping clients find the right healthcare coverage can be very rewarding. Many people appreciate the guidance, and it feels meaningful to assist them in making important decisions about their healthcare. Incentives and recognition for strong performance can also be motivating.


If you know anything about Medicare, it's a beast of an industry. It can be complicated and confusing for folks to understand, looking for the right plan can feel overwhelming and exhausting, the market is saturated with agents who are dishonest and untrustworthy. Exact Medicare is building something thats truly changing the entire industry. 

The pay scale is off the charts, they are paying agents better than other agencies  (salary and commissions). The culture in the office is one of the best places to work for anywhere, with some of the kindest and most considerate people I have ever met. They are paying for each sales agent to get leads that give them the opportunity to help retirees and close sales (93% of agents in their first year wash out because they cant find people, don't have a mentor or developer, lack the skills necessary to close). They are committed to being the best, standards are high, but the training to get there is bar none. The CEO is one of the most trustworthy and hard working men I have ever met. He has a team of people building something truly special in an industry that desperately needs it.

Chargebacks, terrible leads, not making any money

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They try to make it upbeat and motivating but the overall morale is low. Terrible leads, terrible pay. 

The leads are extremely difficult to work. Most consumers are calling about the food card benefit and/or Social Security increase, not because they genuinely want to enroll in a plan. Because of this, many sales do not stick, and chargebacks become a major issue very quickly.

After AEP retention numbers were released, I ended up negative and owing money!!  It often feels like you are working just to pay back debt from canceled sales. Management’s response is typically to “sell more” to offset the chargebacks, but that does not address the underlying problem with lead quality and retention.

The compensation structure creates low morale because agents constantly worry about survival rates and chargebacks instead of long-term stability. The performance bonus can help, but the requirements are difficult: 20 total sales, specific conversion and ancillary metrics, and now a 50% survival rate at 93 days.

Another downside is the lack of company-provided resources. Agents are expected to purchase their own laptop and pay for licensing and certifications.

I came in with high hopes because I had heard positive things, but my experience was disappointing overall. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working here.

If you're looking for a company where you can coast by without actually working, this isn't it — and frankly, this isn't the industry for you either. Exact is a true startup, and with that comes fast growth, lots of change, and a need for people who are adaptable, motivated, and solutions-focused.


Yes, things shift often — but that’s the nature of a startup. Most changes are made to benefit employees while still keeping the business stable and profitable. Unfortunately, a lot of those changes are in response to people abusing overly generous policies, especially around PTO and compensation. The leadership team is doing their best to balance employee support with protecting the integrity of the company.


Commission delays or discrepancies are a common industry-wide issue, and they’re almost always the result of changes made by carriers or the healthcare marketplace — not Exact. That said, the company is extremely mindful of how those delays affect agents and works hard to improve transparency and response times.


Bottom line: If you don’t like being on the phones, showing up consistently, or being held accountable for actually making sales (as a sales agent), this isn’t the right place for you.

A typical day at work involves assisting clients with understanding their Medicare options, answering questions about coverage, and helping them find plans that best fit their healthcare and financial needs. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Through this job, I learned a lot about Medicare plans, customer service, insurance regulations, and how to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people. I also improved my ability to stay organized, handle objections professionally, and work toward performance goals.

Management was generally supportive and focused on helping employees succeed through training, coaching, and ongoing feedback. Leadership encouraged teamwork and maintaining compliance while delivering quality service to clients.

The workplace culture was team-oriented and goal-driven. Coworkers were often willing to help each other, share advice, and celebrate achievements together, which created a motivating atmosphere.

The hardest part of the job was handling difficult conversations with clients who were frustrated or confused about their healthcare coverage, especially during busy enrollment periods. Balancing productivity expectations while ensuring quality customer service could also be challenging.

The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to help people better understand their healthcare options and knowing that I made a positive difference in their lives. Building relationships with clients and helping them feel more confident in their decisions was very rewarding.
