Have you ever thought to yourself "Gee wizz, that Elron Hubbard sure had a lot of great ideas!"? Than have I got the place for you! We have our demagogue CEO at the center of our little cult who gives sermons each week, about how great of a company we work for and how much money everyone is making. Meanwhile, everyone who makes real money is hiding at home while the people making peanuts slave away in the lab, risking their lives and the lives of their loved ones during the middle of a pandemic. The company motto should be "Well at least I've got good benefits!" because that's pretty much all you hear echo through the halls as we all collectively wonder what we have gotten ourselves into. This cult like culture also creates these weird little zealots that are more focused on the color of their lab coat than the patients we care for. These cultists also seem to have a knack for harassing. Two of these little weirdos have set their sights on me in the short time i've been there, one of which creeped me out so bad I reported them, he was promoted LOL. Needless to say I didnt even bother with the one that is currently making my life difficult. If I had to give a newcomer looking to advance some advice it would be don't work too hard, don't worry too much about your numbers and KEEP TO YOURSELF. Hit the bare minimum and then try to talk to management as much as possible so you can become their special boy or girl, but don't bring any problems to them. Why not quit you ask? Well, after you wade through the detritus that is their company culture, the work really is meaningful and it can be an exciting company to work for. You just really have to focus on the patients and yourself. And hey, at least I have good benefits!

Production team-Hours were good, flexible if you have to go to an appointment or leave early for family stuff. Management says they want feedback but they really do not. There is preferential scheduling.  Workplace culture was so-so, at times felt hostile. People will leave for meetings during processing without a replacement so then the other Production Associate is stuck in a processing room for a long time. Poor/lack communication among team members. Cliches, sadly.
I had reported some issues with my supervisor, manager and director of Production and there was no feedback/nothing was ever done. Trainers are identified only because they know the process; however, this does not mean they a great trainer if they do not explain things. Trainers do not give feedback, do not explain processes. Some trainers are rude, condescending if you did not pick up on things right away. The trainers are very inconsistent with what information is given to trainee. i.e. Lab room cleaning with a trainer took 20 minutes but when we actually did the lab cleaning per SOP, this took 1.5 hours-that is a HUGE difference. When providing feedback about cGMP, was told by Quality that we don't own this document, so no one listened/cared. Bottom line=just do what your told. Don't ask questions because nobody cares to listen. 

I worked for Exact for a year and was happy for the most part, my team and boss were so great. Make no mistake, don’t ever ask HR any questions or bring up any issues with them (which is beyond hypocritical because they make you take a computer course on retaliation). It started when I emailed HR a question about the new year health premium cost for my family, and the HR rep didn’t directly answer my question. She beat around the bush and the convo went in circles. I became frustrated and requested her supervisors name to hopefully get an answer from her. I emailed her and she never responded. So I gave up. Little did I know...the following Friday(only a week later) HR called me to the security office at the very end of my shift where the 3 power driven horrible HR ladies who clearly love firing people, walked me out. Coincidence? I think not. They will look for a reason to fire you and it took them only a week to do so. And it had zero to do with my performance, I’ve never had anything negative on my reviews with my boss. Unless you like to just sit and never ask questions about anything or even talk, that’s the only thing that will keep a target off your back.... Disgusting they would do this a week before Christmas when I have a large family to buy for. If Exact got rid of those HR ladies, the place would be a far better place to thrive. Getting rid of great performing employees is apparently very fun for them. I hope the CEO reads these things. Get rid of your business partner HR lady!!

The entire organization at Exact Sciences is a place of "hope." The company is committed to saving lives Through genetics and DNA reseach, Exact is making it possible for medical practitioners and patients to detect cancer early enough that lives do not have to be lost to colorectal cancer and sometimes may even detect other types of cancers in the process. The work environment is one of great professionalism and commitment to the "cause," but everyone has a sense of humor about them and encourage their employees to enjoy their work. My manager and I lauged almost non-stop while we were together in the field. We made time for each other outside of work and when there was personal struggle, the Exact "family" was there for their employees with support and a helping hand. 
If I could work for them again this very minute; I would without hesitation! Unfortunately, I was one of the very first people hired to market their cutting edge science, which was in the Wilmington, NC area, and our team was a part of a Pilot program that was held back by Medicare approval and other external factors that led to the discontinuation of my team.
If you ever have the pleasure to work for this company, jump on it! You will never want to leave. Just can't say enough about the people and the job. Enormously great place to  work.


Company culture is great. Cultural and racial diversity, inclusion, and respect for one another are emphasized on numerous occasions during company training, team activities, and communications from management. Since it's a fast-growing company, there is an abundance of opportunities for advancement and moving to other teams in the company. The downside of that is the work is often very demanding. If you work in the lab, you would face rigorous performance metrics that are developed to make sure you are pushing the best of yourself eight hours a day like a machine. There's also micromanagement. Management also wants you to log every minute of your day into a timecard, including the exact time you take a break, use the bathroom, check emails, etc. If you work for the corp, people expect to see immediate results and impacts of your work. Depending on your role, you may have tons of meetings from eight to five. Some of those meetings are repetitive and monotonous, basically reporting what you have done and the progress of assignments to various audiences (e.g. different managers, stakeholders, and clients). Exact is not a place where you can just do easy work in a laid back environment. Everyone is expected to work hard and push themselves to the limits, but at the same time, there are a lot of opportunities for advancements, benefits are good, and salary is competitive in the industry.

Bizarre. This job gave me so many problems. I dealt so much with different entities within the organization rather than doing the job I was hired for. Job itself was mind numbing but fine I guess. The people I liked who were authentically helpful, left relatively quickly when they got better offers elsewhere. ES offers a lot to do or learn or use, but gives you zero time to participate in those things. So it's like a contradiction. A borderline lure. It was an interesting culture that seemed kinda fun, but you are mainly chained to your desk. They had strict and bloated quotas. Merciless. They were not understanding, they were not flexible despite being responsible for the issues that came up. Also, people say they want to know areas of improvement but when you actually try to help in that regard, it's revealed they didn't mean it. It was interesting to attend company quarterly meetings and hear all this positivity, so much talk about growth and record breaking, but then no bonuses were given to the people actually making it happen so it too was a lie. You can't have "amazing" growth and then nobody gets paid. And then they tanked their stock while the top c suite figures made out like bandits anyway. And then they severed the department probably for outsourcing or automation reasons but of course gave no reason themselves.

The work  could be stressful and repetitive. The pay and benefits were nice but holding onto your job meant you had to hold your work to often unrealistic expectations. If it wasn't for the support from your team, it would almost be unbearable. My fellow coworkers could be great in my department. I imagined that many would not be able to keep up with the fast pace of work, processing orders to kick start our company's transactions. I felt our work was important for the company but I had doubts of how valuable we were.  I long suspected that all the happy celebrations of the workers would eventually end since we were always expected to take on more and more work as the company continued to grow. It turns out the company will easily forsake their employees if it means getting money faster. Despite my department rising to the challenge of more work to be done, my entire department was laid off at the beginning of December one year.  We were replaced by machines with a vague reason that the company needed to make money faster, despite growing business and new buildings being built. Management wanted machines that did not take MLK day off and took sick days. People, not management, made the job great. Good pay and benefits existed while I had the job but now I can joke that they were part of the reasons that management preferred machines to people. 

Zero Stars would be an appropriate sum for this company. The name of the game here is manipulation and lying. They will do ANYTHING to justify and establish their own preset narrative(s). Sure the product(s) are good and their ideas are worthwhile but they are never keen on applying good in the right way. They operate just like any other cult, they want every avenue to be able to manipulate and take advantage of you. 

The name of the game in the labs is to chew you up and spit you right out. "Leadership" is more concerned on solidifying their own career's than they are with actually helping their lesser counterparts. They like to play favorites and enjoy some questionable and sadistic games with their employees. Far-left ideology is keen here and they expect you to fall into the woke bull-stuff.  They try to enforce positivity and try to enact it into their cultish ideology. Just like any other cult, trying to question their "why" puts a huge target on your back. The blame game is also another favorite component of their labs. 

If you do try to work here, keep to yourself and focus on your work. Do not get sucked into the childish games that they tell you is "okay". have an escape plan and try to fit in, but do not sacrifice your identity for their collective woke cult-like ideology. 

Where to begin… If you are not willing to become part of the “high school mean girls clique” do not expect any promotions or professional recognitions. 

This company has a bad habit of finding someone new to pick one and push on every few months and will stop at nothing to find things “wrong enough” to terminate. Was there for a few years and saw it happen 4 times. 

Bonuses were alright, depending on how much the money the CEO made in that quarter (can be 30% one quarter and 150% the next). Pay is high compared to competitors, but only because of the high turnover rate and terrible work environment and culture. 

Management is awful, they and the supervisors are lap dogs to the site director and any other corporate higher ups, meaning no support in the labs, no clear instructions, and no “bosses” had any idea what was going on in their dept/team. People that had many issues professionally were praised and rewarded for negative behavior as long as they were willing to “play the corporate game” and others who did their job above and beyond were looked down upon and scrutinized. 

Overall working for Exact Sciences, you get when you are paid for. High pay for stressful hair pulling and toxic work cliques. 

They claim it's all about their "patients"; however, the call center is nothing more than any other "boiler room" call center.  The automated outbound calling system nags the heck out of the patients to return their stool samples constantly.  In training you are told to engage with the callers, but once out on the floor you are judged on quantity of calls, not quality, so just be nice and mid-westy, and get the person off the phone and on to the next call as quickly as possible.  They even monitor how often and for how long you use the toilet! and count it against your "ready time".   You are slammed all day, as they race to reach their "million stools tested" goal.  All smiles to your face, but the Call Center Mgrs are ready to stab you in the back and discard you if you aren't either a fervent liberal progressive, or just a dope without any ideas of your own.  And unless you become connected you are just fodder.  Lots of back-stabbing by other employees.  Plenty of nice co-workers, but a lot of cupcakes, too.  Their product, ColoGuard, is not what it's cracked up to be either.
