You will not be making 16 dollars an hour most of the time. The jobs bid between 11-15$ hourly. There is a night and weekend shift differential. There is no job security. They can drop your job bid if they want, so you are never guaranteed hours. I was one of their top earners last year. I made over 24k as a CNA. I was able to take the summer off and had a lot of time off overall in the year. This year it is different. There are new callers and they are not as professional as the old ones. Getting the same work is not existent. The Director of First Call is awesome. It is good work as far as flexibility goes. But there is no guarantee on dependability. If you want to make some extra cash it is a good idea. Don't make this your main source of income. It can flip on you and leave you high and dry. At the height of my experience I was making 700-900$ a week. I was working 12 hour shifts 6-7 days a week. Overtime is not always available like that. Not everyone can work that much consecutively. Just be aware, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I love First Call. It is not what it was, though.

The company has good pay per hour but few contracts. Again the office staff has little to no medical knowledge making it hard to communicate field issues with them.
I did home health visits for them and when a client moved three times in two days I was not notified. I drive 30+ miles (three times) to see the client only to find out that they were not at the location.
The office manager called me "stupid" when I called her about the client moving. She failed to tell me that the home health client was in a HOTEL. When I arrived at the location the client was sitting alone in a filthy, stinky, trashy hotel room. The client was mentally challenged and confined to a wheelchair. He was unable to use the bathroom because the chair would not fit in the bathroom. When I helped the man clean up, I found that he had a stage three bed sore and NOTHING had been done about it!!
The office manager TOOK this mentally challenged persons money and left him in this filthy mess with no help!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working for First Call is the flexibility! The bonuses are friendly helpful team members, long standing Tulsa, company with a good rapport, ability to be paid daily and having a job that you actually enjoy!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part for prn staff is that at times shift availability is last minute which may make planning shifts in advance difficult, that is scarce though. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very friendly, laid back while also following guidelines ,  flexible. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go to designated assignment location, clock in  and  perform the nursing duties according to Physician orders and the patients plan of care . Then clock out at designated site at end of shift .

I've worked for other agencies but let me tell you this place is hopping busy! Lots of work in skilled nursing and private duty jobs all over. I get so many work offers I have to say NO! I really like the staff they are so friendly and helpful, if I have a problem they jump on it and get it done right away. I love working at different places and have been sent on long term assignments to. Pay is a lot better than most places and since I have been there a while I get medical too. 

I definitely would tell you to try it out, even if you have a full time job already, you can pick up one or two days a month to pay your car or just have extra spending money!

I have been with First Call almost one and a half years now and this company is the most friendliest, professional and busiest Agency I ever work for! They have hospitals, Long Term Care & Psych Facilities, Rehab, Private Duty and ever Home Care! 

I like the diversity, assignments and especially the pay rates! If you have not tried First Call, I would highly recommend you do right now.

I've been with First Call for over five years now and this agency is the best one I have ever worked for in Tulsa. They are super friendly, have tons of work, pay real good and they give me daily pay for any hours I might work which is great! 

They have tons of facility work and home care jobs too, so there is always something for me. I love the staff too, they are very friendly and always find me some work. I am always turning down jobs and usually work a couple of doubles and two eights and I am done for the week!

I ABSOLUTELY love working for First Call Staffing!  The people at the Springfield office are 100% committed to excellence and service to the customer and staff alike.  They go above and beyond my expectations and will work tirelessly to find jobs that suit the individual.  Whatever you are looking for is what they will find for you!  They are available day or night to their staff.  The pay is top notch.  My work days allow me flexibility in my schedule.  I am handicapped and it has never been an issue.  They take my abilities into account and never base their recommendations on my handicap.  The most difficult part of my job is selecting the shifts I want.  

I thought I would give First Call a try so that I could see if there were more hours and variety with my nursing career and I have never been sorry that I did. If I could change one thing it would be that I would find them sooner rather than later. Every single person that I deal with is very down to earth and kind and caring and I feel like they truly value each one of their employees as a person. I will go on to say that if you don't feel this way then maybe it's something on your end and not the company because they really are a great group of people to work with.

Working at First Call is a good option for me, I have worked contracts with guaranteed shifts and also PRN. When I want to take time off or just not be available I don't have to work. So much better than working for a facility that does not appreciate you. Staff is VERY friendly, like a family to me, plus they pay a lot more than other facilities or even other health care agencies. I always recommend them over anyone else. Good Service Too!

A regular day for me is checking my emails and then working on staffing and application. I have learned how the staffing works now from both ends. Meaning I now see how it works from both sides. I have also learned how to read and fill out the reports for day to day work. The hardest part about my job was learning how to use the computer in general. The best part of my job is that I still get to deal with the public and staff in the field that I enjoy working in.
