Pros: Office job. Good if you are looking for a stable, steady income and good benefits.  Once you’ve been with the company a year you are allowed to move laterally between different teams or move up to different positions, but if you do want, you could also stay in your position indefinitely and make a livable wage, yearly reviews and raises (not very much, but enough) A good job to make a career out of. Training is very inclusive and last 3 weeks (paid). Once you get on your team, managers and team leads are available to help with whatever you need. In my experience, FedEx was pretty inclusive. There are appreciation days, we had food for holidays, there’s opportunities to participate and contribute to fundraisers, etc. And I loved everyone on my team. 

Cons: The team I was on often worked holidays, and only allowed 2 people off a day, so if you have an issue working on thanksgiving or any other holidays (except Christmas Day/New Years day) then that may be an issue (depending on your team/ how many people your manager allows off a day). But you do get holiday pay (regular if you don’t work the day, time+1/2 if you do work the day). The job itself seems like a lot at first (especially in the beginning) but once you learn the basics, it gets boring/monotonous (which may not be a con for some). Team doesn’t leave until the work for the day is done (which they tell you in interviews) may work 1-2hours over (especially around holiday time), but you do get overtime pay.  

Job Advice: 
1. It’s an office job, make friends. 
2. Customs standards change often, and the rules of the job change with it. I’ve seen people worry themselves sick about the constant changes, but that only makes the job more stressful than it needs to be. There are online resources, and Your manager, team leads and other team mates are there to help, ask questions and you’ll get it in no time. 

Work-life balance
This company does not care about it's employees or at least not at this OpCo.

Pay & benefits
The quality of the benefits have exponentially decreased over the years. I've been with the company over 7 years, I have numerous certifications, bachelor's degree, and nearly done getting my masters degree, and my pay is lower than some employees that work in the hub (Express or Ground) with a GED. Again, this company does not care.

Job security and advancement
We have no training. We have no career path. These are things that we annually voice our concerns about in our LLA but nothing ever gets fixed. We no longer have an LLA since we are officially under FedEx Express now.

Management
Management only uses you to get ahead. They promised that new jobs would open and that opportunities would be available for people to move up. None of that has occurred. There is not a clear career progression in this role. We have had the same exact job titles since 2013. There is no designation for those that do more work or more complex work than others.

Culture
It sucks. It is a ghost of what it once was, and people keep believing that things will change.

Overall
I have no issues with completing my job duties each day. For the most part, I enjoy my team members. I wish our management was honest about the opportunities that we do not have for this team. This is a dead end job. Management could care less about how employees progress through their careers. Our team doesn't even get respected by the remainder of FedEx CrossBorder. We are vastly underpaid. They are slowly giving away more of our work by outsourcing duties overseas. Again, this company does not care about it's employees.

This company has great benefits, but astonishingly terrible pay, I'm not sure how people manage to live off of $31,000-$36,000 per year. You get 2 weeks vacation(10 days) and 6 floating holidays your first full year with the company, so essentially 16 days of vacation which is great, but the terrible pay just about cancels that out. They also have super cheap insurance for only a few dollars per check. Management and Team Leaders lack leadership skills(especially the Team Leaders). If you ask a question you'll get 5 different answers, nobody is sure of anything. Team leaders whom are supposed to LEAD, do not have an answer for you 98% of the time, so you are on your own the majority of the time. They provide you with 3 weeks of paid training, but 90% of the training does not pertain to the job at all and is useless because you will never use that material ever again. The final week when they actually show you how to key files is the only part that you will utilize. The atmosphere is worse than the pay. I have never met people more miserable in my life, all you hear all day long is people constantly complaining. This company needs a face lift morale-wise, as soon as you walk in the door it's just instant misery. The building is literally 76 degrees year-round? Which doesn't make any sense because that is disgustingly hot no matter the time of year. If you want a job where you get good benefits, lousy pay, a lousy job with lousy leadership and to be sweating year round..... this is for you! If not, avoid at all costs.

This job went seriously down hill since the start of the pandemic. The company rode the high of record profits during the height if the pandemic while giving nothing back to the employees who worked with them through it all and helped them thrive. During that time they stopped the pension plan, downgraded the health insurance, while sending us repeated emails about how much money THEY were making. 

As the pandemic wound down and volume/profits leveled back to a pre pandemic level corporate greed went on full display. We've been indirectly blamed for this "poor outcome" and threatened to get sent back to the office if we didn't step up our performances (aka take on more workload and do 2 or 3 jobs for the price of 1).

Upper management is very out of touch with operations and continually hands down directives without explanation and often without lower managers even knowing. One hand does not know what the other is doing anymore. Nobody is on the same page. 

Pros are tuition reimbursement, stability, and work from home. This is a very different job than pre covid though largely thanks to pure corporate greed. Pay is no longer competitive because it doesn't go up. You can make this pay pretty much anywhere. There is no incentive to go above and beyond - literally none. Merit raises are the same regardless of performance. Poor work is often rewarded or ignored while piling more on the good ones. 

This is a fine job if you need something in the interim but expect burn out quick.

The best part of working for FedEx is compensation.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working at FedEx can be extremely frustrating and stressful due to inconsistent scheduling and poor management. During peak season, employees are offered as many hours as they want, but outside of peak season, schedules are cut drastically, making it difficult to maintain a steady income or support your family. Communication between management and administration is disorganized at best, and supervisors often do not coordinate with each other. Employees who are not favored by management can quickly find themselves blackballed, with tasks made unnecessarily difficult.

Management practices and internal dynamics contribute to a consistently toxic culture that negatively affects employee well-being and retention.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
 A typical day can be extremely physically demanding, with heavy boxes and tasks that are often expected to be completed alone, even when labeled as ‘team lift.’ New employees are frequently left to struggle without guidance or assistance, making the learning process stressful and exhausting. The pace and workload provide a full-body workout from day one, and without structured support, mistakes or struggles on your first day can be highly visible and intimidating.

Probably one of the best jobs I've ever had. The trainer was beyond amazing and the logistics process was very interesting. You will learn something new everyday. 

Your breaks are not scrutinized and there is not a Handle time or talk time as each case load you take can vary. You will need to be very organized as you will handle a lot of work.

This is a family and friends friendly work environment. Be prepared to not fit in at first as everyone is settled in their nepotistic "group." There is no warm, friendly way to fit in unless you know someone or are related to them.

You will also notice a few managers who are extremely rude and belligerent to employees.

I and another co-worker left for this reason alone. 

HR will do nothing to solve these issues as they have special interest with those that work there as well. 

The General manager of the site is way too competitive and does not encourage a work life balance for Food and Drug administration. She will also targets people who are not her "favorites:" and will do nothing to encourage you to stay. She does not prepare before she adds department and dumps huge loads of work on tenured employees. This is why she cannot keep people.

Really sad for such a great company and amazing work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The commute as we apparently are the only location that has to go to the office for five weeks of training which in our city it is way out by the airport which is $40/day to get to and from work five days a week by week three you’re too broke to continue tho the position seems promising, it’s not really worth it unless fully remote 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Confusing the first week of training you are figuring out most of it in your own and majority of the important things that need to be handled don’t get taken care of until almost too late and god forbid you be sick or have an emergency situation they’ll talk to you like you’re an active shooter behind bars which at no point was giving professional. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mostly sitting at a desk watching videos and figuring majority of the things out on my own while continuously in the back of my mind wondering what the point in me coming to the office was when I could have CLEARLY done everything from home in a more comfortable setting and been more alert active and work ready

* A typical work day depended on the time of year. From about May - August was our busy season. I was part-time so I had to be cautious about how many hours I was averaging. 

* I was trained on a number of areas in this job. I gained experience with office equipment and handling customers.

* The management was fairly good. At times I felt like they put more responsibility on me while others were not doing their part. They knew I would get the job done but it made it difficult to get completed with a limited number of hours.

* The workplace was relaxed and could be fun to work as long as the employees were achieving the expectations. Employees were advised in their job rather than just receiving a lashing if they were doing something incorrectly. I was never worried or scared to go talk to my supervisors. I received direction. 

* During the busy season, completing my workload was the most difficult part of my job. 

* The people and the relaxed, fun environment was definitely the most enjoyable part of my job.

Working at home is a plus, not having to be around all the people is nice.  It is a very negative place to work, everyone is unhappy, so being at home is so much better.  The pay is pretty low for all the work we do.  Many are looking now for something else.  There are way better paying jobs here now.  But staying at home is the best thing ever, and if I get to stay at home it is not too bad.  The work is really not bad, but the company drops the ball on so many shipments that they get sent back after only being touched once.  The coordinators never hardly ever get back to their shipments after the first time, so many get sent back.  The customers are very angry when they call in.  So many customers are not going to use FedEx anymore, and I can't blame them.  FedEx has really gone downhill over the past couple of years.  I have been there for 4 years.  We get paid the least of all the divisions of FedEx.  Very sad.

My two biggest gripes are the overtime and pay.
 Regarding overtime, in the interview my manager did inform there would be slight overtime. I was unaware slight equals 4 or all 5 days out of your work week. The criteria for overtime ALWAYS seems to change so we have to stay over 2 hours. We end up working 10 hours a day for chump change. Which leads me to pay.

I'll be transparent and say the pay is low. In more detail: amount of work you'll do > pay. It needs to be better. What's worse is that you'll come in earning $13 an hour (an example) and somebody new can come in working the SAME job with no higher qualifications than you (most time lower), same shift, same everything except a different manager and they'll be offered 17-19 dollars an hour. Does that seem fair? Does that raise morale? Does that make OT you don't know sometimes until 20 minutes until you get off your shift worth it? No.
