I joined to embrace and enjoy the great work life balance here, as well as slow pace work environment. There is a pretty good work life balance and good work benefits. However, sometimes that can be a double edge sword. The Benefits to me were the most attracting part why I’ve stayed and joined.

There are a lot of great programs around diversity,equity and inclusion, and those are key contributing factors to improvement in culture. Many of my elders say there has been lots of improvement thru the years, and it does show.

There are lot of nice folks, however sometimes it may feel a bit disingenuine. I’m the kind of person I question the nature of people  whom act too nice as times I feel they are  a) too nice because they want or need something from you or b) they are nice to check off a box. While the work itself isn’t hard, most days feel like you are spending more time worrying about stepping on eggshells and navigating thru the politics, than the work itself.

Having been here for over 5yrs, being one of a few under 35/40 in age & coming in mid-career was not ideal.  There is odd unspoken vibe and expectation to drink the kool aid, follow suit to the old school hierarchy and ways of our elders. Be ready to face microaggressions, and those whom have been there for years undermining your knowledge or shared perspective. The comment shared is that  “you just have to deal with it.” Maybe coming in as a older person (older than 45) from industry with a title like sr. manager or director), from another regulatory agency,  or straight from college would serve more benefit to your career growth  and overall experience here. Also, if you are savvy in navigating through office politics, you will have great success.

The FRBs truly strive to make everyone feel like part of the family.  Offers great benefits and many opportunities for career growth and success.

Traffic getting to work, depending where you live and the type of work you do.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Professional family working together.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As a manager, I would make myself available and ensure that my direct reports had what they needed to complete or perform their responsibilities, attend meetings and respond to correspondence as necessary. Review milestone and timelines on ongoing projects, supervised overall support and communication with different groups vested in our accomplishments.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You have the opportunity to learn so much. Benefits are awesome and there is a lot of workplace flexibility. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very deadline intensive environment.

A lot of flexibility and a very inclusive culture.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Participate in meetings, examination work and other learning opportunities.

I worked as an intern there and it was a great experience. I met many people in different departments and they made me feel so included. I worked on multiple projects and received experience in multiple areas. I was able to work independently and on my own pace but still given a standard to uphold. It was all around a great experience and I would go back if they had internship opportunities every summer.

The organization does a great job of providing the tools you need to be successful and allows various opportunities for growth.  The most enjoyable part of the job is the people.  FRB Atlanta has one of the best cultures that's inviting and encouraging.  The people are absolutely the best part of the bank. 

FRB Atlanta is a great place to work!  The atmosphere is inclusive, rewarding and has excellent benefits. There aren't too many companies that still offer a pension but FRBA is one of them!  After 5 years of employment, staff are fully vested in the company and in 100% of their 401K.  FRBA has a knack for good work/life balance, an abundance of employee organizations and cares about the community.

EXCELLENT WORK PLACE! But will give you more tasks than is possible to complete daily, but is the nature of the FRB, because they serve so many banks. They make sure you have the necessary resources to handle what you have to accomplish. There is always work for  tomorrow.

A typical day at work always starts with recognizing you work in a place that not many other people can fathom. Walking the halls is a reminder of the important work being done within. Learned a lot. Great opportunity to find mentorship . Workplace culture is very balanced. People enjoy working there and enjoy living their lives outside of work.

FRB Atlanta is overall a great place to work. As with most places, your particular experience will vary depending on department. Salary structure  is generally meh at the individual contributor level, but the benefits are great. Many people never leave due to the golden handcuffs of benefits/pension and general stability, which limits opportunities for advancement. 

The bank itself is part of the Federal Reserve System so much IT & security work is done at the system level which requires a LOT of outside cooperation and coordination. They don't have enough parking so there is a wait list but you can take MARTA for free (they pay) or pay to park nearby.
