Final Mile Fast

First off, I would NOT recommend working for a DSP and delivering for Amazon to ANYONE. This job is easily the worst I've had throughout almost 10 years of working. The app that controls your entire experience is an absolute joke and is a huge reason as to why I left. The vans are peices of junk (don't forget your duck tape or a bungy cord or your day will be ruined). 20 bucks an hour is the absolute minimum I would do this job for and honestly I wouldn't go back for anything less than 30 an hour. DONT FALL FOR THEIR BONUS NONSESE. The bonuses are based on if u can get back to the station at the end of the day on time, which for the most part is completely out of your control, making the bonuses are based almost entirely on luck and if they give you good routes. Additionally I was completely lied to when starting this job in terms of the routes I would be taking. I told management specifically I did not want to be downtown and I was told as a matter of fact I would only be there on occasion. Turns out 95% of my shifts, including my first 3 weeks were ALL downtown. If you like having 300+ packages, dealing with constant stress all day and getting paid the bare minimum to do it, this job is for you! The one thing I would like to add is that if you DO for whatever reason decide to work for a dsp, I definitely recommend Final Mile Fast. The management and staff are all very very friendly and helpful and will try to make your experience the best they can, however 99% of the issues of working here were due to Amazon so there wasn't a lot they could do. Additionally, I've heard multiple horror stories from other DSPs with drivers switching over and stating that final mile fast was by far the best DSP to work for. 

I didn’t spend much time with this company. I spent peak 2020 with them and a few months after peak with them. 

The management is the most dedicated, caring people you will ever deal with in your career. If you need something that is going to help you accomplish your goals... they will provide it. They genuinely care about all of their employees and it shows. 

I think the reason they are like this is because it is a family run business. Most of management knows each other on a personal level and the owner is the most down to earth genuine person you could work for. 

Your coworkers will be kick-a** in every sense of the word. There are a wide variety of people working there and you all have one goal... deliver the final mile! 

Amazon isn’t easy to work for sometimes. The route stop / package counts do change day to day. But if management sees you have an unusually long route they will help you out by sending someone to grab some packages from you. 

Basically everything Amazon does that most people would be bothered by, FMF tries to fix because they genuinely care about their employees. Every manager there is so easy to get along with and they are all very professional. 

As far as the physical toll, this is a pretty physically demanding job. It seems silly to say stepping in and out of a van 100 times a day is difficult... but you will feel it. For me, stretching saved my legs. And eventually, you will get used to it. 

Last point: DDE6 (the warehouse final mile runs out of) is an amazing place to work. Everyone in that warehouse is incredibly nice and willing to help. You don’t even need to ask for it! They all are very professional and are all safety oriented. 

I don’t regret one minute of working for FMFL and you won’t either. 



Final Mile is a solid place to work if you're looking to do delivery. You drive a company van, are paid fairly, and have consistent hours. 

It's a very independent position, you are given your route and set loose to complete it how you see fit for the most part. 

Management here is among the best I've worked with, they are very accommodating. They see you as a person first and an employee second which I feel is rare working labor jobs like this. I've never had problems asking for schedule changes, making vacation arrangements, getting information about pay and bonuses etc. 

There is a definite air of teamwork that I have found in a lot of my labor jobs. All of the routes need doing every day so when someone lags behind and someone else finishes early, they'll go take some of the load off. People are always helping each other load the vans up in the morning, it's just a nice supportive environment from the top down. 

The hardest part of this job is definitely the physical aspect. You're going to be taking a lot of steps, often carrying 5-50 lbs along with you uphill on a driveway. I was pretty sore the first few weeks while my body adjusted and I'm in pretty good shape. That being said, you do get back in your van to sit and "rest" on your way to each stop. 

The best part of this job is pretty much everything else. If you can stay focused out on your own and move some weight on your feet, you get to drive all over Colorado and see great views, listen to some music, and deliver packages to thankful people. Finishing my route still feels like an accomplishment every day after about 9 months here and I'm giving people a service that I use myself. 

If you like doing delivery or you want to try it out, Final Mile Fast is the best place I've found to do it.

FMF is a very welcoming company at first. The interview was easy and very comfortable as was orientation and the training course. The computer based training was long and tedious. 8 hours of staring at a computer and answering questions and trying to obtain tons of information that is nearly impossible to absorb. It's exciting to start delivering. Once you get out on the road there's a lot of things to get used to like trouble with the app, watching your driving habits, and lack of places to park. Probably the most difficult thing is finding public restrooms during the pandemic. The job in itself is pretty much what you'd expect of a delivery job. The management team does stress safety which is good, If I'm being honest there does feel like hints of favoritism here and there. I only felt comfortable approaching one of the managers with any issues or problems i was having as the other managers tended to be a bit dismissive. My schedule would change from early mornings one week to afternoons the next and back to early mornings the week following. It made it very difficult to find a work/life balance. Would i recommend this job to someone else? If you need a job right away then yes. If you can hold out, I'd recommend looking elsewhere, purely based on experience. 

This company is not Amazon but a contracted company residing in an Amazon facility. There is no job security here, one is quickly replaced. You FIND and LOAD the vehicle you've been assigned that day. Schedules are not flexible; you are at the mercy of Amazon & how much management likes you. With that being said, Amazon can change your start time dramatically & last minute. You are not guaranteed a Prime van and may have to drive an unmarked van. Most of the management are inexperienced and two-faced. This company is family-owned so most of the management is related to each other. At first, this seemed okay but they will take each other's word before even speaking to you about any issues. If you are fired, EXPECT them to say you quit. This aside, the job is quite easy, after you find and load all you do is drive and deliver. If you are hired here, make sure to keep track of your time. The app that is used sometimes "messes up". Unless you are in dire need of a job I would completely avoid this company.

People working at Final Mile Fast were great and supportive. They did their best to train us, and I would have liked to work with them. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Amazon has unrealistic expectations... just blame it on the algorithm.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment and culture. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Unfortunately, Amazon just makes it really hard to stick around. There is no learning curve. I was sent to deliver in downtown Denver on the first day. No way to get in some of the apartment buildings. The mail rooms were full, so you have to deliver packages door to door, and that takes more time. What should have been a 15 minutes stop, according to the tight schedule, will take more than an hour. The driving app was so bad… instead of guiding you, it makes you confuse because the map keeps turning once every few seconds.

Working for Final Mile Fast brings me an incredible sense of fulfillment. The flexibility and open communication with my supportive bosses create an environment that feels like a tight-knit community. They understand the ups and downs of life and always have my back, allowing me to strike a work-life balance.

Of course, with the delivery process itself there are occasional challenges along the way like sometimes we experience techinical issues with the flex app, or during peak season we have heavier routes. I've noticed that any big issues I've ever faced were with Amazon itself and not our company. I feel what sets our bosses apart is their genuine dedication to helping us overcome these obstacles. They provide practical guidance, share their expertise, and work with us to find effective solutions. I always feel valued and supported, and highly recommend working for this company.

I spent four years with this company, and leaving is honestly bittersweet. From day one, I was treated with respect, support, and kindness by both management and my coworkers. The job could be demanding at times, but I always knew I had a team behind me that genuinely cared about my success and well-being.

What sets this company apart is the people. Management is approachable, supportive, and willing to help whenever needed. My coworkers became more than just coworkers—they became friends and, in many ways, felt like family. The culture here made even the toughest days easier.

I'm moving on to a new opportunity, but I will always be grateful for everything I learned and the relationships I built during my time here. If you're looking for a company that values hard work, supports its employees, and creates a positive team environment, I highly recommend working here.

Final Mile Fast is an extremely friendly and caring company that truly cares about their employees. The management team will go above and beyond to show their appreciation for their employees. Co-workers are all helpful and supportive to each team member, providing tips to ensure everyone can succeed. I enjoy working outside and being physically active at this job. Some days can be harder then others depending on the weather conditions and number of packages, but having a strong and determined mindset can get you through any day here. Bonuses are offered every week to those who excel and meet certain criteria, which is achievable for each employee. In addition, this job has been so flexible with my schedule, creating the perfect work-life balance. 

After a year at this company I figured I’d call it quits when they weren’t giving enough hours or sending me home for no apparent reason with the excuse of saying I was an “extra” for that day. They change the times that we start and don’t work well with you when you want a day off. There’s a lot of favoritism and lack of recognition when you do your best. Their mentor app is not a very good app when it comes to tracking how you drive. They make up excuses for almost everything and hardly give proper uniforms for the winter. I only had a vest for the winter and never got a jacket when I asked for one. They just made up an excuse to not give me one. After a year I never got a raise for the work that I did.  I’d say do not work for this company full of people that only care about the family members they have as managers.
