It is not a bad place to work. My experience is strictly front office, never been in the contact center. The contact center does constantly seem understaffed and the management there seems inept and slow to solve issues. 
When the front office is not understaffed, it is a solid work environment. Your mileage may vary by the branch you are at. 
Pay is okay overall, hourly pay could be better, and metric-based bonuses are nice. Quarterly bonuses leave much to be desired compared to other financial institutions. The company is very stingy in offering raises to employees. Also, the company has some managers oversee more than one location to save paying another salary. This is NOT a good business practice and is negatively impacting work/life balance for the manager and their employees.
Okay place for those who have a good work ethic. A lot can be improved - pay, 401k match, contact center, and technology. Truthfully, if the company was a little less stingy and offered their employees higher pay, they would see less turnover and happier employees. Overall decent. 

They have the worst training for their contact center. Pretty much none. Then they send you off on your own expecting you to know everything immediately. They don't monitor employees so if working from home and logging off constantly to do personal things while making others do twice the work is your thing, go work there. The management doesn't care if you are struggling and want more training. They also lie and blame IT issues when they want to fire you and accidentally shut off your access too soon. They'll make you drive to their building to get it reconnected all while pretending they don't know why it's not working, then they make you work for 5 hours, schedule a meeting with you via Teams but instead call you on your cell and let you go instead of a video conference treating you as if you are not worthy of a face to face explanation of why they don't want you there anymore.
Overall they cut close to overstepping the line of legal issues by lying to employees.
Just be careful. If something doesn't feel right, get out. Could just be management of that department but something is very off there.

Company has good intentions with their values and benefits but Management DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING and they are friends with each other so they keep positions to themselves and have meetings just to talk behind peoples back. If you think you’ll grow there more a Team lead o Supervisor position well you’re wrong. 

They DO NOT TRAIN YOU FOR THE JOB: You will only get links, passwords and documents that you will have to learn on your own. 

They have no idea of what telecommunications is or what metrics a call center requires for an over the phone service, quality team is not helpful at all and feedbacks are not constructive, they’re sent just via email and pray to god it was a perfect call cause if not you will hear nothing but blames and not teaching or developing feedback. 

Overall: credit union wants to have good benefits just the people on the best positions don’t know what they’re doing and you as employee pay the price and if you make yourself notice they’ll call you the reckless one so bosses don’t look at you for then to use your ideas to make themselves look good. Not forget the micromanaging just because they’re too short staffed every single day. 

First Commonwealth FCU was a good place to work.  I started in the Outbound Call Center and was offered the Senior Collection position with little knowledge of what it entailed.  My day would begin handling bankrupt accounts, then proceed to doing judgments, leaving and representing FCFCU at a magistrate if an intent to defend was submitted by the member.  I made and received calls from members who's accounts had delinquency and worked on coming up with a solution to get them up to date.  I had weekly/monthly reports.  I worked on Mortgage accounts, possibly starting the foreclosure process if needed.  I assisted my supervisor when needed as well as the 3 other Collector's in my department.

I worked at the credit union for more than 2 years, I’ve worked at different branches and also different departments. The contact center is the worst, so much work minimal pay horrible training and then act annoyed when you have questions. The calls are non-stop because they’re always short staffed (someone is always leaving) and they don’t care about anything other than % rate and taking the next call. The branches are a joke as well, managers have their favorites and will never try to help if you’re not one of them. No opportunity for cross training even before COVID, very hard to develop yourself in this company. Oh and don’t expect to be promoted for anything! 

First Commonwealth was a great place to work when I first started in 2015. Now, the credit union is only concerned about growth even though they are going about it the wrong way and coming up with  goals that don't make sense and every employee is just a number to them. The only people who are being treated well in the company are upper management . They cut hours and pay increases to their core staff members in the branches, IT ,back office and call center to be able to pay upper management more money and to support their many failing projects, manager meetings and whatever promotions and events the VP decides to waste money on that week .

This is a company that has a non-professional environment. Some managers are managers because they are the best friends of some top management and not because of their good qualifications. There are no high growth opportunities within the company. They do not have a good training for new employees or for managers in fact many regular employees are better prepared than managers. In general I consider it a very greyish place. And Allentown Branch is the worst of the worst.

Don't expect to have any type of work/life balance working here. Branches are ALWAYS short staffed and nobody helps. Management knows the stresses that branch staff experiences, yet nobody cares or changes anything. Management will claim they care and send out surveys, yet nothing ever changes. Glass ceiling when it comes to career advancement. People keep leaving and it is like a revolving door. 

 Growing credit union that embraces technology. Great management that facilitates employee growth and advancement. Very flexible work hours and good work/life balance. Work can be fast paced at times due to growth, but is rewarding. Credit Union tries to be active in the community and really puts the membership first.

Management turns a blind eye to employees based on their relationship and pick and choose sides, not doing what is better for the member. Management screams at new employees for doing what their favorites employees already do and dont get yelled about. Very unprofessional, and the Contact center is the worse. I you are prohibited from speaking your native language even if in a convo of just 2 people in front of no one.
