Great hours 8-5, no weekend. Great place to work if you are needing a job between jobs.  No room for advancement.  FTS is a shell company for First Financial Bank.  FTS management are bankers or yes men that no longer can move up in FFIN so FTS was created as a dumping ground for the bad golfers.  Pay is great for entry level, best place to work if you have NO Experience.  If you know anything about your job from real world, you will be looking for another job within the year,  Only the dead beats stay and they are running the show.  First financial uses FTS as the hired help.  Working with bankers like working for an adult day care.  I seen temper tantrums by "men" wearing watches that cost more than my car.  If you are a drama queen, you will fit in and most likely move on up.  Just laugh at the jokes and don't use any common sense, not only will you fit in, hell, they will make you management.  A big plus about working for FTS, they don't expect you to know anything about your job, most management are watching "how to videos" to fix the issues they created.  No certs necessary and if you do get one, don't by a house, you will be moving to the big city.  Again, great job for resume builder.  When interviewing, use the phrase "My Pleasure", and look good, that is the most important criteria for most bankers.  And a small side note, if you are looking for a new spouse, this is the place for you, inter department hookups are excepted, especial between the officers and the hired help. Not a bad gig if you are looking to trade up for most working class.

Like any job, there are good and bad days. When I first started in Item Processing, I had enjoyed the job. I had looked forward to coming to work. 

We key information for branches and work like a teller when we bring in ATM and Mobile App deposits. We take care of debit card issues and contact branches about deposits into customer accounts if needed. We had 3 shifts because we are the crew that works behind the scenes and not with the public. The hours that our department is open is 9am-9pm. There are times that we are there after 9pm. It depends on the circumstances.

Recently, within the past few months, there has been changes in the department which has caused more stress, primarily among the night crew. One of these changes is that there were 3 leads and 2 supervisors. Now there is 1 lead and 1 supervisor. The work of the others has been passed down to others without extra pay. We are required to come in early once a week and on many occasions, most recently, we've been having to stay late. Most recently, the last time I was there, it was 1-2 hours over. Though, with this requirement of coming in early and/or staying late, we were not allowed to keep our overtime. We had to burn off any extra time accumulated which is something I disagree with. I believe that if it is something that is required outside of your normal scheduled work hours, then the employee should be able to keep those extra hours.

First Financial Bank only wants straight out of college no work experience kids.  If your not educated then you have no chance of advancement.   Manager in Credit Department that I worked had favorites, talked negative  about people that work for her and spread gossip about other people in the bank.  She was always talking bad about her boss and constantly saying he should be fired. She had no control over the people in her department that had worked there before her, she’s two faced and a liar.  They should make her clock in like the rest of the department she’s always taking off for family things and leaving early leaving everybody to pick up the slack.  Then takes on other departments work and expects the people in her department to do it and all they have to do, and she takes all the credit.   Let’s the drama queen in the department take off as much time as she needs for her kids and sick leave doesn’t reprimand her.  The bank should pay for management classes for her because she doesn’t have a clue on how to manage people.  The Credit Department was like High School, the boss was head cheerleader and if she didn’t like you then you were treated unfairly.   Constantly being told don’t talk about other people, use your lunch hour to take care of personal things but the boss would stay on the phone with family and make appointments leave early to get her hair done and not come back for the rest of the day.  Double standard big time.

On a daily basis I would work transactions for customers in the lobby and drive-thru. I had to handle cash all day, maintain a balanced drawer. At the end of the day I would have to balance my drawer to make sure I was accurate on my transactions. I learned more about money and how the banking system works. The management at the bank that I worked at was incredible. We always made sure the customers needs were taken care of before anything else. The management there made sure that we kept personal issues and family things a high priority and they were very understanding if things came up last minute and either you had to leave or call in. Everyone that worked there seemed to stand behind one another and there was a great support system among the ladies and one man that worked in the teller line. We were one big family working together. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the customers that dont ever think they make mistakes on their counting or adding and accuse you of stealing money or something along those lines when in the end they end up apologizing. It was also very hard having to leave this work place. I miss the atmosphere and the people I interacted with. The most enjoyable part is getting to connect and form relationships with customers.

Let me start off by saying that if you’re applying for the FFB in Stephenville, GO FOR IT!!! I worked there and it was fantastic. It had its ups and downs like any job. People do tend to stay for awhile at this particular location so moving up can be a bit difficult at times.  The management was fantastic and I rarely ever had a problem that wasn’t handled correctly and efficiently. I worked for the Stephenville branch for TWO years. However, when I transferred to a different region due to going back to school, my experiences were NOT as welcoming. They were not as experienced of a region as what I came from and the managers had to ask lower level employees how to do things. No one was properly trained. It was an all around miserable experience. The pay is decent, although not up to par compared with what you have to deal with. I worked for 2 different banks in the new region with the same results. I lasted 8 months in the new job before I was so miserable that it pushed me to quit.

What to say other than this place is a mess. Management was horrible in many ways including but not limited to, not being clear on instructions and then complaining about the job that was done. Adding extra tasks/responsibilities but no real helpful pay increases. Zero feedback if you actually did something good or were doing well in areas you will never hear about that, but you will hear about the negatives and how you should’ve done this or why didn’t you do that. Very cliquey and drama filled you can tell others just talk about you to each other, and then smile in your face down the hallway. No room for advancement in that department you were stuck and that’s what you would be doing forever. No sense of purpose here or anything meaningful for your life, just clock in and be a criticized cog in the machine. I wish them all well though anyway, I totally understand how the world is.

Let's just start by stating that the actual work itself is fine. It's easy, and enjoyable to speak with the customers and be able to assist them. 

The real problems occur with supervisors and upper management. 

Management very obviously has it's favorites and lets it be known to the whole office. I.E You put in your request for time off before them, your time off gets declined while theirs is accepted. Or you get an "occurrence" for something that they do not.  

Speaking of occurrences, you're allowed 8, and you're fired! Doesn't matter what comes up or how long you've been there, there is absolutely no room for them to work with you apparently.

And obviously that causes this place to have a ridiculously high turnover rate, and never be fully staffed, because management would rather fire existing employees, rather that working with you, or understanding that life happens.

So yeah, if you want to work in a ridiculously micromanaged environment, with hardly any room for job advancement First Financial is the place for you!

Working as a Treasury Management Onboarding Specialist was a great experience that helped me develop strong operational, analytical, and customer service skills. The role offered a good balance of independent work and collaboration, allowing me to work closely with internal teams and commercial banking clients to ensure a smooth onboarding process for treasury products and services.
I appreciated the opportunity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, solve problems, and improve processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The work was meaningful because it directly impacted the client experience and helped businesses successfully implement banking solutions. Management was supportive, training was thorough, and the position provided valuable exposure to banking operations, relationship management, and financial services.
Overall, it was an excellent role for someone looking to build professional skills, gain experience in banking operations, and work in a team-oriented environment.

My management position at First Financial was fast-paced and challenging, they expect a high commitment to your work and once on salary a good deal of overtime. However, if you work hard and are committed, there are many opportunities for advancement in the company and your manager and leadership will support and encourage that advancement. I felt it was a positive place to work. As a small company that has grown dramatically over the past few years there are a number of kinks and problems that need to be worked out in their communication structure, help desk, and online banking, but they are moving forward in that direction and I expect the company will continue to grow. 

Had I stayed in Texas I would have stayed with First Financial Bank.

This bank has gone downhill quick over the last few years. Long time employees are told their positions are being done away leaving them without work after being employed there for a very long time. Most positions are given to Abilene employees leaving the San Angelo locations short handed and picking up more work loads with no pay increase. Only some departments follow procedures such as sick days. If you are a Teller or Personal Banker you will get an occurrence  every time you miss a shift and doctor notes are not accepted but if you are a lending assistant you can miss as much as you would like and never have an occurrence or write up. Over the years I worked there I saw numerous positions given to outside applicants over long term employees. 
There is no room for advancement in San Angelo.
