First, the pros. I haven't found sales training compared to how this company does it. It is superb. But you have to take in mind that Life insurance can be a tough sell, so you'll need tough selling strategies, sometimes. I have not had to rebuttal as nearly as hard since I have left Life.
Life insurance leads are EXPENSIVE. They take most of the expenses away from you. 
Stay here for 2-3 years and watch the door open for other lucrative sales opportunities. Finding a salesperson who stays in sales is very tough and very high in demand.
And you don't have to leave. This is easily a career for someone who loves to door knock and sell specifically Life.

Now here are some downsides. They play down too much how hard a door-to-door sales mentality is. They say it's one of the easiest jobs in the world. If they do genuinely think that, then why would the general manager in private tell me he hadn't worked door-to-door after a year and a half? They have people door-knocking for 5-7 years at that same time that he told me this. 
I would argue Sales is one of the easiest, but I would argue that their field is one of the hardest. This is why people will admonish you and take you seriously if you stay here for a few years. 
One of the first companies I worked for after leaving FIC scrubbed my 403b applications for me, saying out of their 300+ agents, 80% ALWAYS has something wrong and they just fix it themselves (as long it's not on a signature page). The signature page or not, "incomplete" apps was a huge issue at FIC, you will get yelled at, called out, and berated a lot for one common normality at other companies that process sales applications.
Take the chance if you're still thinking about it.

When you first start this job they put you through a 2 week course and then you take the state test. After you pass, you go through a sales class where they tell you to forget everything you just learned because they will teach how to sell it differently (deceiving)! They will put you through the wringer and make you memorize a script! Ok, I understand its sales but it is so deceiving! They downplay the door to door sales by telling you that these people filled out cards and that they want you there. Many people do not remember filling out these cards and most of the time if you do get in, these people cannot afford it because they are mostly in low-income neighborhoods. Taking advantage of senior citizens and dealing with bed bugs is not my cup of tea so if you're into that then this could be the job for you. In addition, watch your paychecks! They will tell you that commission is amazing however, if someone dies or cancels before 9 months is up on their policy then they will chargeback all that commission from your next check. You have to go to the office everyday then out to the field and are expected to work over 8 hours everyday. Make sure you keep every lead card they ever give you or they’ll charge you for them when you quit. If you like keeping your money then you should not work here.

While getting your license you will not be paid no matter how long it takes for you to obtain your license. Also have to pay money for the program you will using for getting your license. They were a great company to work for but you have to invest alot of money to succeed and you will be working in your car going to your clients home weather and all. Having a reliable car is the most important thing with this job as you will be driving Monday through Friday. Base pay is 500 and you will get paid commission but commissions are paid and controlled by the insurance companies you will be contracted by and there is no saying when you will get your commissions paid to you.

I've been with this company for seven plus years. Over my time I have learned a great deal regarding our organization and how to make a difference in our world. This company has provided me with the opportunity to advance and do great things over the years. Watching individuals grow their personal earnings while making a difference with our clients makes it worth it everyday. At the end of the day we have collectively as a team have learned and grown as an organization and plan to do so much more in the future. This is a place that the harder you work the more benefits you see from that effort.

The people that work in the office and the agents are all great. However, the job itself is a little deceiving. In the beginning you know that it is not an office job, however they also say it is not door to door sales. You are given a zip code to work in and given leads to go to. However, with working with seniors, they don't remember that they filled out the card and are quite rude most of the time because they don't know why someone is knocking at their door.

Base on what I as an individual have experience in this company, overall structure, support, commission, base pay, training and etc is the best employment opportunity for people that fits in the professional mold. I love my position and depending on how god align my life I would love to maintain being a sub contractor making money, hitting personal goals and succeeding life dreams.

Working for FIC has been a growing experience; I have learned a lot about sales/marketing, customer service etc. The management team really wants to help you succeed and grow, whether it is asking questions or providing me unlimited resources and training materials. Overall FIC is an amazing workplace; the hours, pay, growth experience etc. is unbeatable.

Even though this job does not offer benefits, the income potential is limitless, if and when you apply yourself.  It does take some discipline for meeting your appointments, as you work in the field 98% of your day.  If you enjoy sales and do not like being confined to a desk, office, building, this is truly the job for you.

What an amazing experience.  We have the ability to help seniors, change peoples' life and be well compensated at the same time.  This is an opportunity for hard working people who want to be successful.   So if you like a laid back, organized, fun work environment with the ability to make GREAT money... look no further.
