I always spoke highly of this company until, I got hired as an staffing coordinator, the manager was very rude didn’t care about your feelings, whether or not you was understanding the work, training was horrible, they don’t give good training and want you to work miracles, it was NO teamwork and you don’t have a life to them if they want you to come in 4am or any shift or time they want you too even at last mintier you better make it because they will fire you and say you not fit for the job, didn’t work with my school schedule or anything ,I’m a single mom of a school age child and I quite my other job just to come to this company who fired me bc I couldn’t come in for training at 4am after I was already supposed to be done  with training didn’t give me a chance warning or anything was very cold , now I’m here with a young child out of a job , it’s sad how they handle there employees really sad the manager really need to be fired, I don’t know if they owner even knows all the drama that’s going on in his office but it’s horribke.

In my time with First choice I've been impressed that its company life is  well-balanced by its efficient, forward-thinking business style as well as its personal and genuinely caring touch. FCN is up-to-date with staffing tech without losing the  human element, especially in how much effort they apply in attending to clinician and facility needs. The tight-knit work atmosphere this attitude creates is warm and inviting, but at the same time it does not falter in terms of its streamlined and efficient business-model. The most enjoyable aspect of this job is the connection and the sense of community fostered 

The relocated office Mgr is very unprofessional.
Everything is fine until the assignment doesn't work.

Be careful with your nursing license,  she sends you to the worst locations in Richmond. They don't take taxes out your check, so put money to the side for that purpose. There are no perks, discounts, they don't offer any benefits etc. 
Overall unsatisfied with my experience. They try to get you to go where you don't want to, claiming they really need the contract,  and you can help them reestablish themselves in the area.

First Choice Nurses is a very good  Agency to work for, i have worked with them for over 4 years. The pay is good and i havent had any payment issues. The calls are answered promptly. They have rapid pay, so you can get paid at end of the shift. They were very quick to process my paper work when i was processing a house than my other jobs. Im happy to work for First Choice. 

This is an agency but they will keep you at the same facility for over a year no matter how many times you ask to be moved, then they will get mad at you for call outs when you wouldn’t be calling out if they would just send you to a new facility, they are the lowest paying agency around here pick anyone they are all paying Higher. They never let you get overtime, all other agencies around here Offer all the overtime you want…. Just don’t work here 

You have complete control of your schedule and where you work. The schedulers are all professional and kind. They try to work with you to get your hours together and will text you often to check if you’d like to pick up extra shifts. My only issue is sometime the Director of Nursing acts like a shady used car salesman which is unethical and unprofessional. The HR sometimes tries to not pay you for everything you do, so watch that.

A typical day at First Choice begins with checking job boards and other resources we for sourcing candidates to fill clinical and clerical positions for our customers.  Appropriate candidates are identified and contact is made.  Once the candidate has agreed to be submitted, the submission is made and then the candidate is handed off to the hiring team for onboarding.   

The management team is supportive and provides the resources I need to be successful.

We’re driving at one or two hours away and find out you’re not needed with no reimbursement or very little. A lot of conflicts with any management.  They were not very respectful to employees

The nurses supervisor is rude and disrespectful. She speaks to everyone as if you are benith her. Makes the work environment hard to endure. They make you work at least 3 12 hour shifts and act as though you should not have a life outside of work . You don’t really get any type of lunch breaks or days off because even when you are off they contact you on the work phone .

First Choice Nurses of Eastern Virginia is a nice company to work for.  Great scheduling, flexibility, training and compensation. The company cares about their employees and will work with you if you need time off or with any issues you may have. I have enjoyed my time there so far.
