First, let me say that I loved my patients and coworkers. They are the real heart of this company and often get looked at as numbers. Anyone going into this position, saddle up and get ready to learn quickly and on your feet. There is no base line training for how to handle situations, as every patient you serve has different needs. It can sometimes be frustrating because every co-worker has their own system and everyone does it differently. You won't ever get a straight answer and when you ask the supervisor, you will be told to ask one of the other Healthy Start workers. 
If you are a parent, make sure you have adequate support for the family. You will be expected to put your patients above all. There is no flexibility for those who have children. 
If you ever decide to leave the company, don't expect an exit interview or acknowledgement that you are leaving from HR or your direct supervisor. And even if you leave on good terms with adequate notice, they are not going to rehire you. They don't rehire. 
The Administration can never give a straight answer. They always seem to need to ask someone else in administration what to do even if they are directly responsible. 
Its a great job if you have a heart to serve the community and make even the smallest difference in lives. You will learn a lot! 
There are bonuses and incentives but they are taxed relentlessly. So while you can be thankful for the extra, its never as much as they tell you that you are going to be receiving. 
The health benefits are an added bonus.

I love my job at Five Rivers and the patients we serve. I walked in having never worked in a health care a day in my life… YET. I was finishing up my Bachelors program in healthcare Administration and I applied for the position. Five Rivers took a chance on me! It is important to me that  I build a connection with each patient I assist and it’s one of the many things I love about coming to work each day.  I have never had a job where I felt so rewarded at the end of the day until I started this role. I enjoy every part of my day. It can get busy at times where it seems I can’t catch my breath but that’s not something that gets to me and I actually enjoy being busy!  I enjoy my coworkers, and helping patients with getting the benefits they need. Our benefit package is very good along with the incentives we receive through out the year. What Five Rivers stands for and provides to the community is remarkable and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us! 

I have worked for Five Rivers Health Centers  since late 2017. The company is progressive and visionary- always looking for ways to improve both patient and employee experience. I enjoy working at Five Rivers Health Center for many reason. Mainly the mission to provide access to quality , comprehensive and respectful care to all patients who live in the communities that I grew up in. Commitment to build a genuine bond within our communities - relationships based on trust, understanding and care. Desiring for every patient who come to our facilities to have a sense of familiarity and believe that they are seen, heard and valued. Wanting all patients to feel safe, welcomed and confident in us as their provider of choice. Providing resources to patients that go beyond the provider and patient. They also listen to and value the employees. Giving opportunities to voice ideas, concerns and asking questions about the organization. 

I have been with Five Rivers since 2013 as a dental assistant. I gained experience and knowledge in my profession that I never would have gained in private practice.  We provide care to diverse cultures with compassion and integrity. We strive for a team based atmosphere with support from the CEO on down. We have an amazing leadership team that put our patients and employees first. We receive very generous bonuses and the opportunity to earn more by achieving various goals. The best part of working at Five Rivers is the patients. If you want a job where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives then please come work at Five Rivers. You’re in for a surprise though, because our patients will make an even bigger difference in your life. 

This has by far been my favorite job in the dental field.  I feel like Five Rivers is really there for the patients.  They gives us daily schedules that are busy but manageable.  They care about us doing quality work over quantity.  If someone is looking for a job to truly help the populations that most need it, than this is a wonderful team to join.  Management is there to help work through any and every issue that may arise.  The culture is highly eclectic and there are people from ALL walks of life.  Five Rivers is overall very accepting of each and every one of their employees.  The benefits are the best that I have seen available to dental staff.  The hardest part of the job is knowing that we have a very long waiting list for new patients and that we can't help everyone.



Five Rivers is a great company to work, they offer  substantial pay for all positions, they have great benefits for their employees, as well as their patients. They show their appreciation to their staff and patients  throughout the entire year. This company works diligently to assist patients of different cultures and backgrounds to be able to obtain the medical care and resources one may need. These and many other reasons are why I enjoy working for a company like Five Rivers Health Centers. They make me feel appreciated when I least expect it.

Our organization builds bond which is one of the best reasons to work here. My relationships with the patients make coming to work worth everything. Being able to come to your doctors office and be treated like family, laugh , share stories, to feel co comfortable and at ease that everyone in the office has your best interest speaks volumes that our patients care about the staff.
