Five Star Call Centers

I want to like working at Five Star, I really do. The pay, while could be higher, was okay for what it was. Not to mention that I was working with some awesome people that helped me get through the day. However, I couldn’t bring myself to continue working here for a variety of reasons. 

Technology issues with the company’s software prevented me from working, and frequently crashes all the time. There was one time where the whole system had crashed and I was logged out for an hour. My pay was actually docked because of this and I was considered absent for something out of my control. I would also like to add that they have a program that tracks what you are doing for the day. This is fine outside of the fact that it is ridiculously buggy, inaccurate, and frequently does not update. I had gotten in trouble because the program put me in an incorrect status. Outside of these isolated incidents, the phone software they use frequently cuts out or results in choppy calls which resulted in me constantly having to call clients back. I would like to make it clear that I was using my own device for this job, and tried to request the company’s own computer. However, this request was denied and I was even informed that Five Star’s hardware is even WORSE than using my own computer. 

Among me trying to troubleshoot and fix these issues, actually doing the job varies from either being easy to way too stressful. More often than not, I had been assigned to phones. However, there were recent changes in staff in our particular department so we quickly became understaffed and I was unfortunate enough to endure constant back-to-back calls. The environment was fast paced and I couldn’t afford to slow down. 

This wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the client that Five Star worked with actually had a system that works too. I won’t dive into too many details to maintain privacy, but many times I had to talk to people, calm them down, and take the brunt of the storm due to the many grey zones that were in place. The complete lack of communication in this field is what really got to me. Again, I do apologize for the vagueness here, but please know that there are many times I just send emails out to escalations and just expect for them to get lost in the void.

It was a final call that had me enduring a cursing woman who was making threats for me to put in my two weeks. It was too much to bear. If you enjoy breakneck speeds and don’t mind the constant phone calls then this job would be okay. I would still only recommend coming here as a last resort.



As an individual who values professionalism and dedication, I was enthusiastic about my time at Five Star Call Center. Still, unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations due to several concerning factors.

Despite my efforts to master the various programs and applications essential to the job, I found the support and guidance from my supervisors and managers insufficient, particularly during the crucial adjustment period. However, I persevered and invested significant time and effort in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient documentation, a task vital to the integrity of our service.

Despite my dedication and commitment, I was met with impatience rather than understanding during the learning process, with termination looming over me despite my pleas for more time to acclimate. I believe that this disconnect between the company's expectations and the support provided to new team members is disheartening and needs to be addressed.

In summary, my time at Five Star Call Center was marred by a lack of support and understanding during the critical initial phase of employment. However, I am confident that a more supportive and patient approach would significantly enhance the onboarding experience and contribute to employees' long-term success. I believe that with the proper support and guidance, I could have excelled in the role and contributed to the company's success.

I worked as a CSR for their Medline Healthcare client. Training was very rushed. Only 3 days in an instructor led classroom watching PowerPoint presentations and taking quizzes in the training portal. Days 4 and 5 you were thrown into calls with just a chat to ask questions in and lots of resources you were expected to reference off of to handle customers questions. I did not feel properly prepared to begin taking calls in the first week and it was a very "learn as you go" position, but I was able to pick up on things fairly quickly and by the third week I knew how to answer most inquiries without needing to use the chat. 

My schedule was consistent each week and you had to work every other weekend 8 hour shifts. I only really interacted with my managers when they would occasionally check in to see how things were going but I had no complaints with them. The chat team answered my questions fairly quickly and there were lots of resources to help with each call. Dealing with angry callers and running into questions I didn't know how to answer was the worst part about the job, but there were escalation lines you could transfer callers to if you were stumped on how to address them.

Overall it was a job that paid the bills. Nothing memorable and nothing horrible. It is a good company to get into for an entry level call center position and if you are looking for a WFH position. 



I worked here for about a month tops. We had a week of extremely bare bones training, the program we were taking calls from and putting information into was built in the 1990s and barely ran correctly. The management in our training would just have us listen to calls 90% of the one week we were training. We were barely trained on the program we needed to use or shown what to do. Once we got put onto the phones it was like being thrown to the wolves, the support chat had 0 support. You would ask a question and no one would help you. You could call their "help line" and no one would know what to do to help you. So your best option was to try to help the customer to the best of your ability. About two weeks in I got canned because "I had messed up on a few orders" and instead of correcting me and showing me how to properly do things I guess it was easier for them to just can me. I guess this way of training and canning going well for them since I always see them hiring. 
The equipment they provide only works 50% of the time. The double screens don't work and turn off on you. They send you a cheap computer set up to connect to the monitors that also barely works.
Find a job elsewhere. Applying for this place and thinking I could make a career out of it was a waste of my time. 

When working with Five Star you don't feel like a call center number, your management team AND your upper management all the way to the owners want to get to know you. The teams are all very close and support each other in all aspects of life. Many associates (including myself) started as a temp on a seasonal project and have moved up through the company all the way to management. Their is always an opportunity for promotion coming around the corner! We are 24/7 so we can offer many different schedules and can be more flexible when changes need to be made. When on the phones you have multiple accounts and talk to customers from all over, keeping a good variety and interesting chats! I have learned: patience, email communication skills, training on companies across the nation, active listening, and so much more. Since starting I have worked under 4 different members of management and all of them have taught me new things and always made sure I knew they believed in me. The hardest part of the job is adjusting to continuous training, as new clients come to the business anyone can be trained and so your training period is never completed finished. The best part of the job is the open, friendly, and interactive environment we created when we were small and have made sure we keep as we grow!

Fivestar has been unlike any other work environment I have ever worked in. The managers and co-workers are always trying to make each worker better without any negativity. It is such a positive work place and I have not witnessed any kind of workplace drama or people talking behind others back. Everyone is very upbeat, even on harder days. What a wonderful place to look forward to coming into work everyday~

Also, the company is willing to work with life issues if they arrive and the managers keep in close relation and contact with the employees and their needs. It is a very flexible, but yet prestigious, company to work for. The employees are trained well and if someone does not understand something, rather than getting scolded, they are coached in areas that are weak. This makes employees feel like they can actually help be productive.

Overall, I have been very impressed and delighted to work at Fivestar. I would recommend this job to anyone with little to much work experience because of the levels of training available and all of the different types of programs to learn. I am proud to be a Fivestar employee and I look forward to the future with this company.

Each day I walk in the door everyone is happy to be here and welcomes you from a friendly "Good Morning" to saying good bye at the end of the shift with a "have a great evening".  The culture is one of team work and understanding.  There is not one area of the building you don't see everyone treating each other with respect and helpfulness.  Each day we are challenged to learn something new and we have a great support staff to help encourage, coach and do whatever it takes to see each individual succeed.  Five Star opens up advancement opportunities to those that strive to do better and are determined to not only see their career advance but the company as well.  Five Star offers great incentive packages for those the work hard and give those that are striving to do better goals and the power to achieve the goals. Some days are more stressful then others as with any employment, but I truly appreciate the leadership teams willingness to stand on the front lines with the associates, Trainers, Leads, Supervisors and managers to see the company reach their goals from helping train associate, floor support to taking calls themselves.  No one is a part of a separate team, we are all one!

Could've been better, I actually didn't mind working here, was hired on seasonal, but did so good at my job never missed days and was promised to be permanent plenty of times, stayed on after my 90 days just waiting to be changed over in the system going on almost 6 months I was still never changed over. One day my sup called and told me that they were ending my position effective immediately, I worked harder than most there never got a raise never got PTO, even when people came in that were hired on way after me got raises. I remained patient being that I was promised full time permanent just to be let go. To add the icing to the cake I filed unemployment and the company LIED and told them that I quit abruptly due to finding a better job. I had to open a appeal and after they did extensive research they came back and told me that they did verify that the company lied and that they were now able to approve my unemployment. If you want a part time job or if you don't really need to work or just want a little extra supplement on the side, I would recommend, the people that I worked with was amazing. customers annoying as with any call center job. 

Working at Five Star Call Centers, provides the opportunity to talk with people all over the country with varying interests from all different walks of life.It never gets boring and no day is exactly like the last. I have learned so much about the call center industry, as well as so many other industries from the clients we work with each day! 

My particular position gives me the opportunity to travel to meet with clients and learn about how Five Star Call Centers can help them grow their business. The opportunities to further develop my leadership skills are endless!

Here at Five Star Call Centers, the leadership team truly cares about the employees and the well being of the employees and their families. It is like a whole other family 8a-5p. The culture here encourages a great work ethic, and rewards dedication and great performance! The teamwork is second to none!

In this industry, things are always changing! This is both the hardest and the best part of the job!! Never a dull moment, but you need to be able to switch gears quickly sometimes. The people really make everything worth it!

They always add more work with no raise or very minimal (we're talking under 10 cents!). Everyone is constantly moved to different job projects, different desk locations, different managers. Most companies move in and out in just a few months. You'll get abruptly thrown into action as training is very limited and insufficient. They continuously add projects and more poor training ... They continuously break promises. They lie that companies are with them for the long haul, they lie about bonuses, they lie about advancement. The pay is lower than your average call center in the area and of course, benefits are also second-rate. The owners are shallow and robotic. Their is no loyalty to you whatsoever but they expect nothing less than unabided loyalty to them. The owners are robotic, shallow and greedy. Everything is how it affects "their" bottom line. Do yourself a favor and look for employment elsewhere!
