When I was contacted by the recruiter I was lead to believe there would be no issues working in the evenings after my regular job. Also the ability to work up to 28 hours a week was also discussed. They said it was rare that nurses didn’t get their 10 hours. But it’s rare you can get them. Usually the first 2 days of the month are unlimited and you can easily get your 8 hours both those days. However the rest of the days it’s feast or famine. I wake up 3 hours early to get maybe 30 minutes of work, some days it’s only been 10 minutes. Then if you’re lucky a few more charts come along mid day. But I’ve never had enough to work in the evening hours. 
I’ve worked there awhile now and haven’t been offered any new disease modules that lets you get more charts and it’s HIGHLY frowned upon to ask for more training. They say they assign them as they come along. I do feel like this company has hired more nurses than they need or are struggling for new business. 
Communication with management is zero. The one time I reached out for a general question I received a copy and paste response days later. 
This job has such great potential but it’s lacking in so many areas. The amount of time I spend checking to see if there is charts to abstract probably is just as much time as I get paid for abstract. So take that into consideration. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Incredible programming, amazing support and structured, very effective training, awesome mission and full of integrity. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing, really. The pay isn't great at first for PT abstractors, but you have ample opportunity to distinguish yourself and grow within the organization once you've put in six months PT. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Remote, very remote, and electronic, virtually no phone or video conferencing, but excellent communication despite that. Super organized.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work when I want, can, get in a minimum of 10 hours a week and a max of 29, any time you want, on the computer they provide you.

I work part time (minimum 10 hours/week) as long as work is available. Some months I always have charts and some months I only work for a couple weeks. I think this position is great as a side hustle. It's fully remote with completely flexible hours. The company provided a chromebook for use. This is great for somebody wanting to work independently and with minimal management. The training is self-guided. You get reviews on any errors made but you don't really hear from management unless it's the monthly email update or you've been making a lot of errors. The pay is low for a nursing job but average for data abstraction ($32/hr) with the ability to earn quarterly performance bonuses ($100-150 each time). They also reimburse to renew your license or attend conferences up to $250 per year. 

You can work up to 8 hours per day and 28 hours per week. Pay is decent for being remote sns flexibility. The tasks run out often. The feedback on tasks is never clear, the culture is meant to make you feel like you can't ask questions but they do not want you to. The companies standards to guide the way they would like the information obtained is disorganized, outdated and lacks common sense. The managers, which their seems to be many of with no real experience or direct commitment to any of the people they are overseeing, are often rude, do not explain things fully and do not provide full follow up on education needs, the company would benefit from an educator and a better manager system and an overhaul of their managers. It's extra money for now but I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone.

I work as a part time remote abstractor. The great thing about this job is the flexibility. They require a commitment of 10 hours a week but you pick when you work your hours. I can work during the day, the middle of the night, weekday, weekend. That part I love because it’s the perfect side job since it’s so non-invasive. Compensation is decent too. The only downside is that you’re not guaranteed your hours. They have a set amount of work that’s uploaded on the first of the month. Then, if the work is completed before the first of the following month (which doesn’t happen frequently but often enough to notice), you may possibly have a chance to do cross-training to earn your hours via education. But that’s not always guaranteed either.

Flexible hours working from home is great. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
At least 90% accuracy is required and bonus depends also on timeliness. So you have to fast…..carefully.

I work remotely. Have never spoken live with a person in four years. All

Coffee at my desk in my home office!  I work about 2 hrs per day. The work is all on computer screen reading medical

Fatiguing and hard for me to do more

Working with a group of dedicated people whose goal through data collection and research is to delete cancer.

Can be difficult to meet time requirements finding the data required with information and methods available

Worked remotely however felt company valued their employees and promoted work life balance.

Worked part time, in which spent full day of collecting data from sources/records made available by the company

Started out absolutely loving my job.  This is a remote flex position.    First few years there was frequent  communication from management.  Have to commit to a minimum of 10 hrs per week.   Rarely ran out of work.    The past year things have gone downhill.   Now you have to look  for work at 6 am and by mid month, run out of work and have to check all day long just to get a few hours in.   You have to be glued to your laptop and refresh constantly.  Surprise evaluations are so frequent and make you feel like you are in school, and not a professional.  Management responds in a condescending manner.   Guidance varies depending on who responds.  No more credential reimbursement.   Just sad.

Occasionally there is not enough work available. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The majority of communication with the team is non face to face communication via email or electronically. 
DEI is very important to this company.  Advancement is available to employees with consistent high quality and efficiency scores.

All training and day to day work is completely self guided, must be able to read and understand instructions very clearly.  Must be self motivated worker.  All work is logged in actual minutes working, as well as productivity (tasks completed in amount of time), so efficiency matters and the job required attention to details (so no multitasking your time). However your schedule is entirely up to you.  Great part time job for oncology nurses.
