The disrespect, lack of training, and false promises doesn't begin to describe this company. They will diminish your character and make you the problem. They will tell you things like "I can do what I want" and " I don't need to respect you." Even tell you to seek professional help. They will not coach employees to be better and there is no growth. The position you are hired for is the only job you will have with this company. You will be told "you will get dollar raises" and get less than a dollar. They will dangle carrots and never give you what they promise then call it giving you an opportunity. Employees do not stay longer than a year. If you are looking for a job until you get to the next one, this is that job for you. The manager will roll her eyes at you when you have a question. You will get snapped at for speaking. Most the time you will be sitting there with nothing to do and be told you are not productive and not coachable. If you even begin to ask for more it will be used against you and you will be told you are just looking for a title. 
Overall, this company is mentally abusive and when using your chain of command nothing gets done about it. Sorry in advance if you decide to work here. I wish you the best of luck.

Typical day at work answer phones assist customers with there Roadside Assistance, Get help to them quickly and listen to there needs.  I learned a lot about cars Front wheel drive , Rear wheel drive , All wheel drive ,4 wheel drive, Once you know you also know what type of Tow Truck to send out for the service. Also price factors depending on the breakdown of the vehicle We also service
Canada and Australia customers the value of the dollar in different countries. 
Our office was about 25 employees we all worked well together and helped each other . The atmosphere was Great.
The most stressful part of the Job was the customers upset and yelling on the phone due to language barrier a lot of the accounts were back in the South.
Most rewarding was when the Customer's Thanked you for the Service they received.

With the change in mindset the new management really feels like you should be in your seat from the minute you get there until the minute you leave and no socializing at all.  Before this change in mentality we habitually produced twice the amount as was required and continually met what looked to be unreachable goals.  Once the mindset changed our production dropped to the minimum required across many of the departments and there was no longer inner departmental help.

Fortegra is a great place to work due to its successful leadership team and hard working and dedicated employees. The company supports the local community and gives back to many non-profits. The Wellness Center is a huge step forward for this company and has attracted young new talent. Management could do a better job at long term goals and planning for employee growth. I was fortunate and was able to work within many roles across the company, therefore learning and acquiring  many skills from training to management to teaching and a ton of other technical skills too.

The battle is always your own and in your own head when you are a salesman. Nobody will just pick up the phone and say "let me just get my wallet" when you call. Fortegra will do its best to place you in front of as many people as possible to fix problems people are having with their benefits. If you are a natural person and know your products you will do great. Fortegra is the best call center in Oregon period, you will also make way more money than with other call centers in the area (was there and done that). What I liked about working at Fortegra is the pressure level was much lower than other outfits in the area - so I did well.

You will be brought in for an interview and will be told one thing and another will get done. You will be asked to keep in contact and call them only to have your calls not returned. This is not my idea of professionalism! Do what you say and say what you mean and that's not what is happening in the hiring and recruitment process at Fortegra. It is more of a fishing game to see how much you make which implies they are looking for the least expensive route to hire, not necessarily the best candidate.

I enjoyed my first 8 years working for the company.  At that time it was privately owned and was growing.  When the owner was ready to retire, a new Chairman of the Board came in wanting to make the company become public.  During the last 2 years of the company the company cut staff but bought several small companies.  As A/P manager I was working 60 hours on 5 different systems from the east coast to the west coast with 1 clerk because they wanted to cut cost.  I was physically and emotionally exhausted.

I was hired for this company through a temp agency for a project that was supposed to last 12 months with possible direct hire. I was on the job for one month and never got to start the project and ran out of stuff to do and was laid off. The work environment was laid back and professional. I loved my supervisors and co workers but the company only hires for exactly what they need. One person is usually hired for one particular job, there are no group work projects persay.

A typical day at Fortegra Financial for me, would consist of forms work. This would basically include taking one document and comparing it to another. If any errors are missed on these documents and sent out, it could cost the companies hundreds, even thousands, depending on the type of error. I've learned a lot there, but i'm also still learning as I go. Everyone at Fortegra Financial are friendly and ready to help if you need it. So this is probably the most enjoyable part of my job.

Fortegra excels at preparing you for challenges of leadership in a business environment. Don’t expect any hand holding. If you’re not able to keep up, that’s completely on you. There’s just so much to learn that sometimes it feels like you’re being overloaded with information. This was a life changing experience for me because I was able to take the knowledge I gained from this opportunity and applied it to various positions throughout the organization.
