Work/Life Balance:
Schedules are made 1-2 months in advance, with full availability expected and no guarantee of consistent days off, though you’re promised one weekend off per month. While doctor’s notes aren’t required for sick days, this policy can leave reliable employees covering for frequent callouts. You’re also expected to stay on-call to answer order-related questions, even as management remains unresponsive for days at a time.

A Typical Day at Work:
The role involved design consultations, preparing instructions for the studio team, and following up on customer orders. Tasks were straightforward if you had people skills, common sense, and an eye for design.

What I Learned:
I learned the value of structure, trusting my instincts, and advocating for myself in difficult work environments.

Management:
Management was the job’s weakest aspect. My manager consistently displayed favoritism and avoided accountability, while upper management remained detached and dismissive of concerns. An effective manager should be open to constructive feedback and hold themselves to the same standards they expect of their team, but this was rarely the case at Framebridge.

Workplace Culture
Despite promoting inclusivity and diversity, hiring decisions often seemed performative, prioritizing image over merit. The workplace culture suffered from favoritism, petty dynamics, and unclear communication, leaving employees unsupported.

The Hardest Part of the Job:
Navigating toxic team dynamics and inconsistent expectations was especially challenging. Dealing with dissatisfied customers due to studio errors often left retail staff unfairly blamed.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:
Interacting with customers, solving problems, and seeing unique artwork made the job rewarding when things went smoothly.



Easiest job I've ever had. Compensation is more or less appropriate for the work. 4 10hr shifts for weekday shifts allows you to make extended plans every week, except when they implement pointless mandatory overtime where no additional work actually gets done and most people are staring at their feet because it's so poorly managed. On that subject, this would be a great place to work if management had ANY (successful)  experience in either management or framing/relevant skills. They more or less have a "reactionary" approach to everything, ie they just let the place run itself and yell at the staff the next morning when they realize they haven't hit their ostensibly arbitrary numbers-- this will happen multiple times, overtime will be called, then we'll run out of work and ot will either continue as planned or be canceled. They just have absolutely no idea what goes on or how it is done -- again. ZERO experience among upper management in this field. Laid off half the staff then complains that the new higher quotas aren't being met, which as I said are completely made up and just seem like yet another way for the Severely overpaid management staff to justify their insane salaries (2x-4x what an average worker makes, mind you a worker that possesses skills and knowledge relevant to production that They do Not possess or comprehend in any constructive capacity). They are all flying by the seats of their pants, milking this place for what it's worth. 
Still, work with cool people and the work itself can be rewarding at times, but if you aren't cozy with the right people and don't watch your optics you will never be promoted regardless of your experience -- I have a decade of management experience and have never once been considered for a position even in my own department. Also rampant nepotism.
Whatever, it is what it is. I'm here for the 4 day work week.

All of the job duties are simple, straightforward, and easy to perform. You will never see backbreaking work here. Almost everyone who works for this company has either an artistic background or a passion for art, which makes the social aspect of work engaging.

However, corporate will always find ways to beat down the morale of the plant workers. Despite management's best efforts to advocate for their teams, executive personnel go to great lengths to neuter the quality and workload of the plant, making it extremely difficult for team members to perform to a high standard. In addition, they never listen to our experience on how to improve this new plant/order the materials we literally require to get our job done right.

The work-life balance is very poor, as if you work on the "weekday" shift, you will never be able to walk into a bank or doctor's office except on Friday UNLESS you are forced to come in for overtime to stand and do nothing.

In addition, if you expect to make a positive impact by growing the team with referrals, forget about it. The company would rather shuffle through several temporary workers from completely unrelated fields than to interview referrals with proven experience in framing and art.

Despite all this, however, this is a fun, challenging, and inspiring place to work. You're surrounded by good people and art, paid a fantastic wage, and given great benefits. The fine details are the only cause for complaint here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at Framebridge was the meaningful nature of the work and the opportunity to handle customers’ sentimental pieces. The craftsmanship and attention to detail required made the role rewarding, and many team members were collaborative and dedicated to producing quality work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of the job was navigating inconsistent leadership and a lack of follow-through when workplace concerns were raised. While the framing work itself requires precision and care, support from management did not always feel consistent or equitable. Clearer communication, stronger accountability, and a more inclusive culture would greatly improve team morale and retention.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work is fast-paced and detail-oriented, which can be rewarding. Many teammates are collaborative and dedicated, but inconsistent communication and leadership sometimes made the environment stressful. Clearer expectations and stronger support from management would improve the culture.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Framebridge involves balancing precision work on customer pieces with supporting the flow of orders and assisting customers. Tasks include preparing frames, quality-checking items, handling order details, and communicating with teammates to meet deadlines. The work requires focus, attention to detail, and adaptability, especially during busy periods.

You will not receive any training at all if they are too busy to bother. The group in my orientation was taken directly to the production floor and told to shadow other employees who are not getting compensated for training you, so your knowledge depends directly on what that person knows/is willing to show you and their attitude about being forced to train random people. Most people on the floor have no idea what's going on, or are on their way out. 

There is no communication between management and the production line. HR is unresponsive and unhelpful. Good luck trying to reach anyone for an emergency. The point system is strict. If you are even one minute late, you will be pointed and have to ask HR to remove it. This company does not care about its production line employees.

If you have any respect for the arts, they don't care about your experience in the field. All that matters here is that number goals are met regardless of quality. Production has no proper training methods and original art is constantly being damaged. Employees that ask for training are ignored or told to just shadow/figure it out. You are literally just a number here to get as many orders done as possible, so most people leave or quit after peak season. BEWARE!

The only reason I gave this company 2-stars is because I have only seen this one location. Those who don't work on the actual production line seem like they are very well taken care of.


As someone with an art background that loves design, I was truly excited to start working for framebridge, but I never could have predicted how horrible and exploitive this company is. Framebridge loves to portray a fun, liberal image but in reality they would choose one extra penny in their pocket over the health and wellbeing of their employees every time. While there are definitely huge flaws on the retail level: understaffing and putting pressure on retail employees to never take a day off, constant damage of customer artwork, absolute lack of communication from corporate employees, etc. The WORST part about this job is upper management. I have never worked with such a self-centered, disrespectful, and untrustworthy group of people ever. Their expectations were constantly shifting and turnover was high so there were never clear/consistent answers. One week they would shame you for not doing something the “Framebridge way” and by next week we would be shifting to “new practices”. Yet asking for help or clarification in any of this mess is only met with shaming and ridicule. And with all of management being remote, it was near impossible to get ahold of anyone, and even if we could,  they never followed through on the promises made. There is exactly zero accountability for them to do their jobs, and it only comes back to hurt the people working the front facing roles. If you are unlucky enough to work here, make sure you have an exit plan from day one and don’t trust anyone. 

Some things you’ll experience:
Mandatory overtime is used as punishment for managements lacking abilities and will happen often. Very high staff turnover. 
Expect no recognition for excellent work or any livable raise.
If you speak up they will find a reason to get rid of you. Management prefers happy and compliant quiet workers who will not speak up about conditions. 
Management plays favorites and will sabotage those they don’t like. 
Absolutely No room for advancement. 
No Human Resources in facility. 

Systemic issues are consistent. 
Day shift picks through projects to select easy work to reach their goals and leave second shift difficult and nearly impossible to complete work or leave on time. 
You’ll be reprimanded for doing what’s asked, it’s like goldylocks and the three bears as Nothing will be quite right for management. 
Hard work is rewarded with more difficult work and then gaslighting and degrading who you are to encourage quitting vs advancing.  When staff calls out they will bring out excessively difficult work to slow down process. 
Training is terrible and resources are not accessible. Processes will change daily and the pay is low for the expectations and output. You’ll have to sign hundreds of update documents without actually reading.
  Run & save yourself. 
If you do good work, they aren’t appreciative but rather hire new for less pay and find a reason to fire you. 

Fellow co-workers are mostly nice people but a lot of them love to gossip. Upper management is very poor. There is a very negative energy in the work place nearly everyday. You can be moved to different areas upon request and cross training is available at basic levels. 
Human Resources  is rather aggressive and will interrupt you A LOT when trying to confide in them. They have hired a new HR and she is very nice and caring so I am sad I did not get a chance to vocalize my concerns to her without the Rude HR being in the room. 
Never make plans because they change their minds about things last minute a lot. Also, they NEVER call if there is a change in the schedule and you happen to be absent the day they decided to make a change in the schedule (ex. you miss a day due to an emergency and all week they told you to  come in on Monday at 7am. You'll show up at 7am on Monday and after an hour of being at work a fellow co-worker will ask why you weren't there at 6am. Turns out the one day you were gone they said to come in at 6am). 
The hardest part of the job is definitely trying to  keep up with what is happening at work because a lot of information does not get told to middle management or any none upper management. Information usually gets told through a "he said she said" kind of way. 
The most enjoyable part is the Benefits when you're full time. They are great if you're a single person.

Over the years the culture & management of the KY facility has crumbled completely. The numbers matter more than people do to them. They don’t really value the employees who have been there for years. Most of the knowledge of picture framing that was established has left the building years ago, and the newly hired managers/leadership have disregarded the training they have left and just make up processes and methods as they go. Very little regard and care for the craft is evident when it comes to the artwork - which has caused stuff to be damaged in the process. At times the workplace has become hostile causing folks to constantly call out, having uncomfortable interactions with both employees & managers alike, and artwork being retuned multiple times because people aren’t paying attention to what they are doing or know what to look for. Folks don’t care about the art they just want it shipped out the build so it comes back about a week later, or multiple times. Which end turn cause folks to get fired.  Communication is an issue as well. Office politics with managers and leadership make it difficult to work across different teams and departments. A LOT of improvement needs to happen internally. No amount of pay would make me come stay with the company - in the plant or the corporate offices.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The culture. FB is inclusive and extremely welcoming where everyone knows each others names and you don’t feel like just a number in your building. You get to develop meaningful bonds with not just your fellow coworkers, but your supervisors and team leads. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Making sure to hit goal numbers on time every night can be stressful sometimes. Having clear communication with the teams from other facilities/retail locations can also be stressful if there aren’t clear instructions for certain pieces. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is super friendly and welcoming. Company culture is extremely inclusive and all about communication and efficient teamwork. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Getting to see about 20-30 pieces of art per day is the standard for me. We work through all of that from receiving it into our work area to fully mounting, framing, and wrapping it up for shipping. There’s a lot of communication between the Art Techs and the Art Mechanical team who is responsible for providing us with the components we need to actually assemble the frames. We all take breaks and lunch at the same time every day which is great if you enjoy routine.
