I worked at FRMC for 2 years. It was my first job out of college. The management when I was first hired was a little crazy but the manager was at least nice and really did care about the employees. Once she retired we were left with a new manager.  I won’t go into details about that but once the new manager was there we lost about 10 employees. Lab was always under staffed. You are always over worked. This job is not for the weak. The pay isn’t good. You are forced into shifts. You are constantly called in on days off and expected to come in when someone else calls in. No one new is ever hired to replaced who quit. If someone is hired they aren’t trained properly. Co workers are the only good thing about this job. You don’t get paid holidays off because they never close so if you are off on a holiday you have to use PTO to get paid. 

Patient ratios are dangerous, leaving your license in jeopardy. Nurses are set up for failure and unable to provide high quality care because of staffing ratios. Some of the managers are wonderful and work so hard, but the admin treat them terribly. You can see that the hosptial is all about money and not about patients. I couldn't handle it anymore and had to leave. I loved my coworkers, but it was exhausting and I was having suicidal thoughts and my overall mental health was declining. I hope the place gets better for my previous coworkers, but I will never be back. Praying for those who still work there 🙏

Even though the day may consist of busy and difficult times, at the end of the day I feel like I have done a good job of taking care of my patients and making a difference.  I have learned alot throughout my nursing career; from a beginner LPN to a BSN prepared nurse who chose to obtain a Master's in Business Administration with emphasis in healthcare management.  I have enjoyed my experience as a charge nurse and have good co-workers, but want to pursue higher career aspirations.  I think the most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with others and knowing that I make  a difference in someone's life.

Frankfort is mostly all twelve-hour shifts. I learned a lot being farmed out to other departments in time of low census, I did appreciate those moments. Management seems to have no clue what is going on from shift to shift. At shift change is where the most confusion is on display; you never get off shift at the time assigned. HCA is the governing management agency; they care more about money and positive patient feedback than patient safety and employee safety. 

I’ve worked at FRMC for 2 years and it’s miserable raises are bare minimum and make no difference once a year they do not care about you at all only good thing about this place is the pto the environment is toxic and the management is what creates the toxicity the department is split into 2 cliques your either a favorite or your not and management has their favorites that get off on doing absolutely nothing and if your not a favorite you could work your absolute hardest and give your all to this job and it’s still not good enough a job is a job but this place makes it personal definitely do not recommend do not waste your time 

This place was dreadful. I was sick at my stomach knowing i had to go to work every morning. Management has their favorites and if you werent it then you were out of luck. They didnt give you all your 15 min breaks. Patient loads were too large for safety. And employee input was never valued. Work was life. You werent allowed to have other more important matters outside of work. And the pay is not competitive.

HCA runs the ER in (negative) ways I've never seen before.
EMR is terrible and clunky.
Admin (various Directors) aren't supportive of clinical staff.  All they care about is throughput and numbers vs good outcomes and mental/physical health.
Old facility.
Not enough room/space to see the 100 patients per day.  High risk environment due to complex patients, and somewhat low resources in town.

Don't waste your time here.  Go somewhere else to work.

This facility is a joke. Understaffed and underpaid, the staff try to keep up. The cafeteria is terrible and way overpriced. Management has no clue. Pay and benefits are lowest in the area. The hospital is physically falling apart. The #1 priority of this hospital is to make money. Extremely unethical medical practices. Stay away!

I loved my job. Working in the emergency room was my favorite. The management was ok but high turnover. The hardest part of my job was having to talk to patients family when their loved one had passed.  The most enjoyable was meeting so many wonderful people and being able to help people. I really worked well with my colleagues and made life long friends. The opportunity for advancement was minimal.

Was great people to work for. If you had a problem, they had the solution. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I worked 3 rd so. It was still good place to work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great . Everyone was a team . There was always help if you needed it. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Usually it was good , sometimes you would have a bad day. Most stressful was when we were hit with Covid.
