A typical day as an Entry Level Sales Agent once Licensed would consist of normal Customer Service Relation tasks and Duties to be completed Daily. These tasks and Duties would consist of Providing Potential Customer's with Auto Insurance Quote's, collecting premium payments, Data Entry, Answering Incoming office calls, and seeking potential customers. Typically depending on the office traffic, there would be 1-4 Sales Agents in office, a Second-In-Command (Assistant Office Sales Manager), and the assigned Sales Manager. Keep in mind you may be alone in the office some days, but if you love a challenge, that would be the greatest opportunity to show the Sales Manager and Regional Mangers what you are capable of with-out Supervision. I started as a Sales Agent and took that solo time to show I could build the office traffic and sales, while also completing my daily duties but it was difficult as the work load could be heavy but again it's a challenge. 

This may sound silly but the company will understand what I mean, I learned sometimes you have to speak-up if you want to be heard and you could loose a great opportunity if you don't. There is always a time and place for everything and a correct approach and there's a chain in command ladder you could take with an open door policy. You have to be ready to join a team even as an Sales Manager. You can plan to stay and grow within the company or gain skills that can be used in other divisions of an operating company. With my time within the company, I am capable of branching out from the Insurance industry and provide services for positions such as Marketing, Data Entry, Underwriting, Loan Processing, Client-Relations, and so on. Because of one person having faith in me, so many doors have opened for me even during my time of recovery.  

I never had issues with upper-management. Could the Company improve on employee relations? Definitely! Professionally, you have to respect each other and work as a team for the office, region, and area success. I was very commutative with my regionals and they would do as much as they could, but unfortunately, you can't teach an adult manners, nor expect them how to show colleague or employee appreciation with little or no effort. I was trained and learned very well by my office manager, my regional, and HR. Support was always present and ready to be provided but all levels of the Sales Office Staff could learn how to respect and treat one another.

The hardest part of the job, as you can sense from my previous statement, is learning job separation. You have to know when and how to separate not only your work and life but also your personal emotions from professional. When a co-workers actions made me uncomfortable or sometimes even unwanted, I constantly reminded my-self of the reasons I was at that location. I've always understood that we have to stay focused on the company's best interest and success, but the company's best interest should also include making sure the staff is treated Fairley and professionally. 

Despite the very small group of unhappy employees that wanted to recruit others in their unbearable clique, I actually enjoyed the purpose and out-come of my work. Personally, not one day was the same and that is what made everything exciting and challenging. I enjoyed assisting escalated Customer relations and the responsibility of overseeing multiple offices. When I reviewed reports provided from upper management and reviews from other sales managers of my assigned offices, I saw my achieved goals and also the areas I needed to focus more on to improve. The company alone offers great skills and training from Customer Service to Office Management. I would recommend any position here in the Sales Division to all Challenge Seeking Goal-Orient Individuals. To all seeking a career in Insurance this would be a great entry level opportunity with no experience necessary. Normal benefit packages are provided here such as 401k, PTO, and FMLA.

This has been the worst experience I have had in any work environment. Management is a joke, they are unprofessional and mistreat their team members. In the case of a poorly trained manager I had he would make sure his team members would be disciplined by yelling at them in an irritated and frustrated manner about the mistake made in front of the customers, making customers and team members uncomfortable. This was one of the many bad things that could be pointed about the company's negligence in training qualified managers and making team members feel comfortable in the workplace. 
These poor work environments have led to the high employee turnover rate this company has which reflects on how many open positions there are as a Customer Service Rep in this company.

Overall bad training is given to their Customer Service Reps when initially starting, with only two weeks to work on training you for your Limited Lines License (which is practically useless outside of this company)  you are given only a couple of more days of training at HQ until you are thrown out into the field with the most minimum amount of knowledge regarding auto insurance and with their expectations of you committing at the most 2 errors you are to learn everything as you go, putting in jeopardy the money and property of customers due to the lack of training.

If the mark of two errors is reached you are sent back to training at HQ which you cannot feel free to ask the questions you may want for the fear of being ridiculed by your superiors whether it be in the training class or once you go back to the office by your manager and they are informed by their superiors of where you stand according to them.

NO COMMISSION is given to the hard working sales department even though quotas are always demanded and stress upon by your superiors. How they expect to motivate their employees to sell without any sort of motivational factor such as a bonus or commission is beyond me. You are also expected to stay as long as you have to if you receive a last minute customer who wishes to purchase a new auto policy which most of the time takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes to process, and if you're new you need to get your work verified by a manager or regional manager adding another 15-20 minutes if you're lucky to find an available manager right away.

If you're thinking about working here just know that although you will have at least 39hrs a week to work (they don't like  you getting close to 40hrs for the fear of paying you overtime) you will be unappreciated, stressed, taken advantage of  to make deposits if you have a vehicle, and will NOT receive any sort of motivator to sell more even though you are in the SALES department.

My advice to you would be to get your Property & Casualty License and work at a better company where pay is better and they offer commission for your hard earned work.

Wish I had at least one good thing to say about this company but working here I lived through some of the worst moments in my life, I am not the only to feel this way I also knew people who felt suffocated, unappreciated, and stressed, just as much as I did but unfortunately they needed the job and were scared to speak up.

Let's start with the most enjoyable thing: co workers and Jean Fridays. Most managers who are great with their employees do a lot more than they are paid for and are great teachers, it's rare you'll find a great manager but when you do they either end up in a better position elsewhere outside the company or they get taken advantage of while promoting other lazy managers. 
Medical benefits is a plus, though you pay it and is taken out of your pay check. 5sick days and 5 vacation days. 

Less enjoyable: lack of communication between managers, adjusters and clerks. There's always meetings in which all managers are always in everyday for hours so if you have a question forget it ask someone else or figure it out. Everytime there's a meeting the people that are involved within the work are excluded and expected to change their whole work flow based off of a meeting had. There's no understanding of each other's jobs. Some managers or team leads that are promoted don't even understand clerks jobs making difficult for communication and understanding for both parties. There are some team leads who want to manage everything you do like when and where you can use the restroom or talk to someone. 
People are promoted due to who they know not how well they do their job or understand the job given to them. Also there are or were a couple of people who were treated differently because they were related to a manager or another authority figure. 
HR is more concerned about dress code than the politics shown in the company. They refer to the handbook for unnecessary things in which we have an outdated handbook from 2011 that does not back them up. 
You get thrown different jobs due to the turn over rate and lack of properly trained employees. You'll find yourself over worked and underpaid. 

You mostly sit at your desk trying to figure things out on your own because everyone else around you was poorly trained and the managers are always in a meeting and the people who knew what to do are no longer with the company.

Hourly employees are not allowed overtime unless given permission from department managers but even then you have to watch your hours or you will get written up. 

Clerks are looked down upon as we do a lot and yet are underappreciated. 
There's really no room for promotion at clerk position unless you get your license then you can go on.

I got hired back in June, when training took place it was only for 2 weeks. The trainer did not go over any of the systems we be using, and went through the material rather quickly and I came to find out that the trainer hated training and just wanted to get rid of us. After shadowing I also learned that some people received a month of training which I thought was completely unfair. When I got hired as well I told them I did not want a job dealing with constant phone calls due to my previous call center job and wanted a break from the phones. I was told I would be a great fit for the rental position and don’t really deal with phones often which was a complete lie. It’s practically a call center and you also have your additional claims to work while taking calls which I really don’t understand how people finish their work when their getting call after call. Also I ended up working OT cause I had to stay late to finish work and because those were not approved I will not be getting paid those extra hours I stayed for. Initially when I got hired I had a different expectation of the job and to be frank I hate the job. It reminds me of my call center job which I had a terrible experience with. To top it off I will get off the queue just for a few minutes to complete my work so I don’t stay OT since they ask us to stay late to finish work but won’t pay for it, the minute I get off the queue I’m told to get back on when there are other employees who are suppose to be taking calls are not and have been off the queue for like an hour. It’s quite a lot of work, it’s not a horrible establishment but I am currently looking for another job ASAP. The stress that comes with the job is too much to the point of it causing panic attacks and becoming ill as well.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Horrible. Would not recommend a job here to anyone-especially a paralegal. Run-don't walk-in the other direction.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything. Disorganized. Unfair workload. Paralegals are tasked with handling ALL aspects of 70+ arbitration cases. Don't expect to get any help from the "secretaries" who only handle opening and closing files. You are so busy with calendaring and clerical tasks good luck on getting any "paralegal" type work accomplished.  Plus you have to clock in and out on  slow internet based system and if you are 1 minute over 40 hours you will hear about it. Doesn't matter if you have deadlines that must be met you are NOT allowed to go over 40 hours. Plus people in the Texas office who have NO clue what they are doing put things on calendar too that you have to go back and fix all of the time, which just creates more work for you.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible. Secretaries vs. paralegals. Great place to work if you want to hear your lazy co-workers gossip and talk bad about you all day every day while you are doing clerical work that they should be doing since they obviously have WAY too much time on their hands.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I can't even begin to describe it-constant chaos and last minute fires you are putting out. Hard to keep track of tasks with all of the constant interruptions, chaos and meaningless "meetings" you don't have time for. Make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes early every day so you can manage to clock in by your scheduled start time.

As the work shift commenced, our duties consisted of running reports,endorsing, selling insurance policies and making phone calls to clients whose policy was about to renew or cancel and speak to customers that received a quote for auto or home insurance coverage. While the calls are being made throughout the day by the end of our shift the office quota must be met to satisfy company standards along with meeting our goal. Every office along with every agent has a quota to meet by the end of every month. This is where I've learned to establish sales techniques and being able to provide excellent customer service that became beneficial to achieving my goal every month. Management was a great influence on motivating individuals to become the best insurance representives that can provide excellent coverage at a great price. Being able to meet our office quota was a team effort and with great co-workers by your side, at the end of the day your job feels alot easier knowing everybody is there for each other. Team work is a term often used but not neccissarily practiced on a daily basis, however my co-workers and I felt like an all-star team. The hardest part of the job was that there was no room to grow. Being able to get promoted was very difficult. The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that you met your quota and can keep your pay with the incentive rate and being able to help the customers that would walk in the office or call in. Providing excellent customer service and being commended about it by your peers is an incredible feeling because you know that you're doing your job in a professional manor.

The company has an "old boys club" mentality and the culture of management is to shoot first and ask questions later.  They make snap decisions and judgments prior to having any of the facts and when they are shown to be wrong - they bury their heads in the sand and ignore the fact that they were wrong. 

The company is growing and attempting to move in a new direction and working on changing the culture but until they change the leaders at the very top of the pyramid - nothing will change.

Our managers are so busy buried in spreadsheets and reports that they do not have the time to help us with files and questions.  We have many managers who work hard and do what they can for us but they do not have any control and are not able to make any decisions of value.  

They do not do any sort of development to further the knowledge of their adjusters and we are grossly underpaid for the job we do and not compensated anywhere near our competitors wages.  There are no merit increases or raises so after 3 years, I was making the exact same pay I was making when I started.    There is a bonus opportunity but due to understaffing and heavy workload we have not hit our bonus which is hurting morale.   Mandatory Saturdays became the norm which again hurt morale and increase the stress level.  The amount of hours we worked affected our home lives and relationships.

More than 40% of the new hires quit during training or within one month of starting their job due to the heavy workload, under staffing, unrealistic expectations of processes when we are grossly understaffed and low salary.

Sales: There isn't much opportunity to move up in the sales department.
Depending on the office you work at it can be a fast paced environment or incredibly slow.
They help you study for about 2 to 3 weeks for the insurance exam, and after that you learn their system for 3 months.
Based on my experience, office management is great. My office manager and regional manager were helpful, understanding, and kind. They both set very clear expectations.
Co-workers are friendly and helpful. Finding help from other employees in other offices is easy and quick.

Claims: Fast paced environment. 
You need to be able to handle a big work load. Organization is key.
You need to be able to handle meetings, emails, calls, and voicemails from claimants, insured, Co workers, manager, lawyers, dealerships, mechanics, auto shops and etc.
Depending on your position in a day you will handle medical bills, lawsuit papers, any documents sent in by lawyers, statements from any party invovled, photos, videos and negotiating with lawyers at anytime.
Unfortunately, when I was there they were short staffed, and losing employees. This meant that we had a greater work load.
My manager was great!
Although not all management at the Claims department were as helpful or kind.
The biggest difference from sales is that not all co-workers are friendly and helpful. It's harder to find someone who is willing to help you. 

Overall, I enjoyed my experience with the company. Especially sales, the pay is great and the work becomes easier with time.

Do not work here if you're looking for a healthy work environment. This job will consume your whole week, leaving no time to yourself.  The management is extremely unorganized, and never held accountable for any mistake. Make no mistake this job is notorious for scapegoating. You are overworked with an extreme pressure to be nearly perfect with every aspect of your job, leaving no room for errors. Management does not care about your needs, and only cares to have coverage for an office. Management WILL play favorites, and you will be berated almost constantly. You will not be acknowledged for  your efforts made at this job, only your "room for improvement".  Asking for time off feels as if you have to earn it, and will rarely ever get granted, even if you're using sick days. You are expected to come in regardless, and instead will trade the day off for an early release from your shift. Promotions and raises at this job are nonexistent. You are expected to work in claims without a pay raise! Toxic work environment that praises the bare minimum while expecting more from others, management that goes on a power trip every time, and unrealistic expectations for actual good employees. On top of everything, the pay is subpar for the additional workload, the training is terrible. You will not know how to properly do your job until minimum of 1 year with the company, and you will be berated for it. Just don't do it. There are other companies that will value your time.

If you do decide to work here, do the extreme bare minimum, and use all your time off when possible, and you will be a model CSR.

If you like everyone micromanaging you including your coworkers  this is the job for you, you will not go through your shift without having someone breathe down your back they give you an email where they ask you questions on what you are working on hourly, and conduct audits every month to make sure you are looking for sales. being on your personal phone here is an absolute NO!!!!! This Job is based Highly on favorites if you are not one of them prepare to pull the short stick every time. The management here is terrible you will not have a set location everyone will know your schedule before you do, there are times when i found out the location and time that i work the same morning of my shift. The PAY fluctuates every month. the pay they set you on after training is not guaranteed. You will not get any overtime if that is what you want. Calling off is impossible here the only way to get off is by using vacay hours and you only receive vacay when you complete a year with the company. Everything is monitored and i mean EVERYTHING. The only thing i can say good about Loya is that they pay for your licensing fees upfront which you pay back in weekly installments (Use Loya to get license then leave).Decent pay but it will cost you. If you can tolerate the poor management and the micromanaging then by all means apply.
