Fusion Medical Staffing

Travel healthcare has completely exploded over the last 2 years, and for good reason! Working for Fusion as a traveler gives you the ability to control your schedule, pay, and location. Plus, you get to travel! There is no shortage of jobs available right now, so you're almost guaranteed to find a contract no matter your department.
It's difficult to really review "Fusion" by itself, because honestly, you don't work for them. You work for the business that contracts you. Right now, because of the extreme staffing shortage, pretty much every place you go is struggling. To put it briefly, you work far to many hours with too much work for what feels like too little pay. But that's not Fusion's fault, it's the fault of the business currently contracting you! The good thing is that pay is competitive, so you're still making an awful lot more money (almost double most places) than if you worked the exact same job as a permanent employee at that location.
I feel that Fusion does a great job at helping you get the most out of your contracts. They have reimbursement for lots of things that are required by different locations for you to do your job. I've also had Fusion go up to bat for me in situations where I felt like people at my contract location were trying to take advantage of me or requesting I do things beyond the specifications of my contract. It always feels nice to know you have someone in your cornee. A lot of your satisfaction will also depend on who your recruiter is. I love my recruiter, and I've only heard great things about all the other recruiters at Fusion too.
If you're able to travel, and it doesn't have to be super far, Fusion is a great agency to work through and you'll be well taken care of.

I once really liked working for Fusion Medical Staffing.  In the beginning, pay was better and the staff was much more accessible.  Now, it seems that the company focuses more on the staff in the home office in Nebraska than taking care of the travelers actually performing the contracts that keep Fusion in business.

Your lucky if you catch your recruiter at their desk.  It isnt my job to hunt down my recruiter during business hours.  You are always passed around to people if you call the office and need to speak with someone that has any type of authority to help you.  Too many third party contracts for work, but also used within the company itself to find you housing.  Pay is now a joke.  Excuses are always made for pay sating that "they dont work for free either."  Enough money for all the different programs for the employees in the office, but nothing to really support us in the field.

If you are a new grad, this is a great way to gain expreience and make a few busk and see the country...for us seasoned Professionals this place was once great now it isnt worth leaving home as there is no more money in it unless you have an RV and your own insurance.

Others within the company were provided growth opportunities, fully supported by their managers, trusted without being micromanaged and encouraged to speak up. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case for those within the HR/Benefits/Employee Experience teams. There was zero support from the Director levels and up, no room for advancement, only training available was what was offered within the company walls and most of that was self help and/or company specific training. Nothing that was job specific. All flexibility was taken away, which really impacted the women/moms that were not in those SLT roles and above. The hardest thing to accept was the values & culture of a company I truly was proud to be a part of drastically declined and changed from being there for its employees from the bottom up, to caring from the top down. Titles weren’t important, open door policy was true and employee feedback, true discussions were appreciated and the employees in all levels were happy. 

Working for Fusion Medical Staffing has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my healthcare career. As a travel CNA, I’ve felt supported, valued, and respected every step of the way. Fusion goes above and beyond to match me with assignments that align with my skills and preferences, and they’ve always been transparent and communicative which makes a huge difference when you’re moving from place to place.

What I appreciate most is how personal and responsive my recruiter is. I never feel like just a number. Whether I’ve had questions, concerns, or just needed a little reassurance, someone from the team was always there for me. The pay is competitive, the benefits are solid, and the entire onboarding process is smooth and professional.

But beyond the logistics, Fusion truly cares. They recognize the hard work CNAs put in and it shows in how they treat us, how they advocate for us, and how they check in with us while we’re on assignment. Being able to explore new places while doing what I love has been an incredible experience, and I’m proud to represent Fusion everywhere I go.

When I first joined Fusion, it was a positive, collaborative environment where employees felt valued. Unfortunately, over time—especially after changes in leadership and direction—the culture deteriorated significantly.

Management became disconnected from the team, communication broke down, and decisions started being made behind closed doors. Morale plummeted. Many talented employees left or were laid off without clear justification, including myself.

The way the layoff was handled felt cold and dismissive. There was little transparency or respect for the people who had contributed years to the company’s success. It’s clear now that the company prioritizes short-term gains over long-term loyalty and employee wellbeing. 
Start treating employees like people, not numbers. Rebuild trust and stop making knee-jerk decisions.

I no longer recommend this company to anyone seeking a stable, respectful workplace. Things may look good from the outside, but internally it’s a very different story.


I have been a Medical Technologist in Hospital Laboratories for 23 years. The past 10 of which have been as a Traveler working all across the country from the USVI to Alaska and Hawaii. I've worked with the top Companies out there, but the past 3 years I've finally found my "place/home" with Fusion Medical Staffing! The recruiters at Fusion are there for you 24/7 and always have looked out for me first. They consistently try to place me in areas of the country I'm interested in working. The benefits are the best of any Travel Staffing Agency I've worked with. I honestly feel like I'm part of the Fusion family instead of just someone they can market. I love Fusion Medical Staffing!!!!

Fusion lacks vision. Managers are a dime a dozen now who have no idea how to lead. 3-1 ratio for managers to employees.  There was a complete culture change a couple years ago when the owner took away the engagement group and said it will no longer be  represented in any Pride volunteer work, parades etc.  There is hardly any diversity within Fusion. A whole bunch of people from one specific company were hired and put in to executive roles. Basically creating roles for their friends from a company that was going under. And now, that’s what’s happening with Fusion . They lacked future vision (what comes after Covid). I’m afraid this company is not sustainable with the amount of pay the executives receive and how many there are, the brand new building they have, and all the layoffs they are doing.  Fusion has become corporate and no longer a place to be proud to represent. I will say my coworkers were Amazing people. There was a camaraderie there with all of us. We’ve all been walking on eggs shells on when the next layoff will be. 

Being part of the Fusion Medical Staffing team is like being part of an extended family! 

Fusion works hard to make their external and internal employees feel involved, inspired and enriched each and every day. The team atmosphere/culture of family and community involvement is great to be a part of. Fusion provides the opportunity to be humble, driven and positive every day. 

A typical day at Fusion Medical can mean hours on the phone connecting with people, developing relationships and working to improve peoples lives. Sounds like a fairy tale or a fable but its our mission to provide the right people, with the right opportunity at the right time! 

It is not an easy job. Its a tough job! But it is well worth all the time, effort and work to help a facility, a person and a family grow! It is all part of making a difference and aiding in providing quality healthcare to family and loved ones.

My recruiter AF took a genuine interest in my well-being and worked hard to find me jobs where I wanted to be. I felt like she was looking out for my best interests. I took two assignments in CT through them that paid decently. One hospital was a little dodgy and the other was fine, despite them cancelling my contract a week out, she helped me secure another assignment within the same hospital. Insurance and benefits were middle of the road, no PTO until a certain number of hours worked which is standard. I only left because a rival company found me an assignment in a city I was trying to relocate to.

This was my unicorn job. When Fusion moved to their new building it all went south.  Multiple lay offs and more to come with some very smart and talented people out of work, and a lot of the bare minimum that got to keep their jobs. 

Work life balance is not what it was. Since moving into new building and depending on your Division, you are required to be in office at least 3 days a week. If you're sales, it's 4 days a week. 

Instead of laying people off, try cutting back on the food trucks and unnecessary money wasters. Yes, keep workers happy, but if they don't have a job, was it worth it?

The majority of Fusion staff is very young. The only thing wrong with that is some of the younger workers are all about themselves and team players to benefit themselves.  

I don't not recommend Fusion, as it's a nice gig to get you some experience.  If you're not 100% extroverted in every way, do not bother.
