I only recommend it if you REALLY need a job with the flexibility of setting your own schedule and want Next Day Pay. The company recommends that you set your availability and schedule about a month in advance. The issue with that is that most facilities that allow you to pick up shifts that far in advance either pay on the low end or cancel you at the last minute before you can be compensated for the cancellation. Leaving you dressed for work ready to go and then scrambling to find another shift to pick up. You're often better off just waiting for a late call. The pay was once very good. Now the average for an LPN is about 34/hr (even for Covid+ facilities). Which is normally pretty good as a staff nurse, but it's important to keep in mind that this is agency work. You are going to new facilities all the time where you have no idea what you're walking into. There is zero training. You just show up, get report, and figure it out. You may struggle to get a log in for EMR, codes to supply closets, waste time hunting down necessary supplies, or have to bring your own to be prepared for the places that don't have what you need (I have a full emergency kit at this point for the sake of my patients), and you need to figure out how each facility wants their admissions done. Most facilities that need staffing tend to be the types of places nurses don't want to work at. Cleanliness is often an issue (even down to many many roaches at some). You often work after other agency nurses who don't care to do their job properly because they aren't held to the same standards as staff. This is why I feel that although the current pay is higher than many staff nursing positions, we deserve higher pay because of how much more difficult the job of a nurse becomes when you work for a staffing agency. When we made at least 40/hr consistently and were rarely cancelled, it was worth it. Now, I've started to look into going back to staff because the pay no longer equals to the negatives and with all the last minute cancellations, the money is no longer consistent.

There is nothing honest here. Moves are made in the shadows, suspicious activity and resignations, and absolutely no organization in any direction. There is no point in specific job titles or descriptions because they have everyone doing everything and no one knows what anyone else is doing. The training is laughable. They hire with false promises that never come to fruition, and then once hired they trade people within teams as if they are commodities, not people. You are expected to use your personal phone and data for work and to download various apps, with no reimbursement. If you don't draw a clear line with your personal time, you will be expected to see and reply to emails at any hour of the day, any day of the week. Nepotism and favoritism are rampant here. There are no raises or promotions, or even performance reviews for that matter. There is no room for advancement or growth. If you are hired for one position, you will still be expected to do the duties of higher-paid positions, all while the higher-paid positions slack off and still get the money for the work you're doing for them.

Start over. Reorganize. Listen to people with experience outside of your inner club, Be HONEST when hiring and throughout the employee cycle. Be transparent at all times. CEO needs to retire and let someone else that isn't his family run the show. 

When I started Gale I was happy and impressed! It seemed like the culture was what I wanted and I had a good work/life balance. My Tram Lead was amazing and so helpful and encouraging and I still think she is the best after being gone. 

Exactly on my 90th day I had a surprise meeting at 9am where is was let go with all others in the last 3 training classes. I had just received benefits, was acclimated and all in one moment it was gone. My Team Lead didn’t even know. I had people I was onboarding to work that very day and I asked the HR Team if I could let someone know so the nurses that I had been taking care of could start work asap and as soon as I hung up the call with HR, all of my access was just cut off. I never even heard from my Team Lead again which was disappointing to say the least. Now, almost 10 months later I have learned they have done this many times to the majority of their staff. 

This company seems to pride itself on bogus awards and NOT their corporate employees. We were the ones getting the nurses hired and helping people “just one more” is a sham OR they would have cared that I cared to get them hired and onboarded. Instead, I had nurses’ finding me on social media thinking I personally abandoned them when we had scheduled onboarding. I am just appalled at a company that claims one thing and does another with zero care. I honestly can’t believe people stayed there to work. It’s just going to crash down one day and it doesn’t matter how hard you work…you will be thrown out like trash.

Love this company. Came in right at the start of COVID as a Recruiter. I have learned a LOT. Training online was new to them, but they did great. The atmosphere is more relaxed, but it still feels professional and helping our clinicians get hired and working is the top priority. 

We have facilities located all over the country, with patients in need of care and facilities in need of clinicians. Our goal is to fill as many shifts as possible so my job is getting those clinicians vetted, credentialed and hired so they can start picking up shifts. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is feeling like you are a part of something special, building relationships and connecting qualified clinicians with facilities that need assistance. 

Sometimes the hiring process and working to get these clinicians hired can be a bit... frustrating. Especially with COVID, there are testing requirements which can sometimes impede the hiring process. But overall, we know that is necessary to keep our clinicians, facilities and patients as safe as possible. 

I really hope to be with this company a long time. There is so much room for growth and expansion and I am excited to get up and start work in the morning. 

I HAD so many great things to say in the beginning, of my employment with gale; However, I get it, it's business and change is good, but being in an environment to where your being harassed and not getting the proper help, or even proper information is down right horrible for someone's mental health. I felt stressed on a daily basis starting my shifts because I knew I wouldn't have help and I would be criticized for my performance, instead of management finding ways to help me achieve their goal requirements, I even told them I have a learning disability so I learn slower then others. management including supervisor say they have your backs, and are here to help, a bunch of bologna, I get it, their positions are at risk, but if your going to have someone's back, actually have their backs. So many changes were put into place and it made working for gale a stressful environment, not a fun one anymore, Although I've only met, the owner once, he was a very friendly gentleman and I pray his company progresses, However don't waste your time applying for a position here, New management will not help you and will criticize and harass you and make you feel unworthy and not appreciated. Take my advice.

The operations staff was committed to helping get staff and clients aligned.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with a 2nd in charge that didn't understand the business or the market dynamics of the industry especially post COVID.  He dictated goals rather than aligning with experienced staff's input because he was too focused with investor perception.....not business reality.   A lot of people were hurt professionally because he wouldn't accept staff experts assessment opinion of market dynamics and change.     

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Cross functional respect was great, but 2nd in charge did not respect us.... demanding unattainable performance targets created toxic environment in the corporate structure that rippled through the company nationwide.       

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working with Ops, Marketing and sales to attempt to adjust targets to more manageable levels.  Reality was layoffs would happen.

I have worked for Gale since 2018. They pay for a nurse is fair, and I love the same-day-pay. It really comes in handy and I feel hood getting paid about an hour after my shift, and getting paid right now for putting in a hard day’s work. All jobs should pay same-day. Some of the facilities I go to are pretty run down though, and I wish that Gale had more inner city facilities, and a way to provide transportation like some agencies have. I also wish that their was more advocacy for the nurses, because shifts are cancelled last minute sometimes, or you wont be on the schedule when you show up for work. In those cases, there should be a “guaranteed pay” that pays for the entire shifts. Other than those cons, I want to say that Gale has really made a way for me to make instant cash especially during the hard times when I needed it the most. The telephone customer service workers are good and professional. Tony, the boss man is a good boss, and understanding. I recommend Gale. I hope they get more contracts soon.

Gale Healthcare Solutions, used to be a fairly good place to work, until it was not. When you start paying attention to your app you start to see that if the managers in the office don’t like you or you don’t pick up enough low paying shifts for them they will prevent shifts from coming your way. They will go into the system and make it so you see less and less shifts or you get the shifts that no one wants. There is alot of favoritism at this job. Of the customer service Reps you get on the phone is rude, disrespectful and very unprofessional. There are other Agencies out there that pay more then Gale and have way more respect, and that’s willing to help you find consistent shifts without being petty. Did I mention they will fire you for anything, without even asking you, there motto is, the facilities are the ones paying us, so what they say must me true. Please do your research prior to wasting your precious time. Time is something you can not get back.

What is the best part of working at the company?
When I need to call for any reason, they are very professional, kind and caring. I have had accidents on Interstate delaying my arrival. I became sick on my way into a scheduled shift, arrived on time but needed to go home. I just call or use the App to call and they always have my back!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing is stressful with Gale!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It all shifts through the APP and occasional phone calls for a shift. I meet other Gale employees. Everyone is friendly.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I select shifts at the times and Facilities that I want for my availability. They list shifts that fall in those categories to choose from. I arrive at Facilities, start my shift on APP. I fill the vacancy then end my shift. I take a photo of my signed, by Facility staff, timesheet and upload it on app. I get paid in a hour, sometimes less on a debit card.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ability to choose when and where to work is great with any company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They require you to pay for some screenings and they CLAIM they will do it from your first two checks. However, they miscalculated my first check and then upon correcting it, withdrew the “second” payment for screenings  from the same check essentially leaving me having worked for a shift couple of dollars. I suspect they did it purposefully…DID ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS?PERHAPS WE CAN FILE A CLAIM AGAINST THEM IF SO! The pay is ridiculously low. Corporate management ignored me when I reached out with my concerns. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
From my experience, it is EXTREMELY POOR!

Hard work and that company wanting to use you until they can’t anymore and they don’t want to pay for what your services are worth.
