When I began working for the company management and supervisors had good ideas and plans for the future of the company. Since management has changed it appears the culture has changed also. It is no longer about the residents care or employee satisfaction. Caseloads are enormous, much more than the norm and made me uncomfortable not being able to provide the necessary care to the residents. Not taking my lunch break and leaving hours after my shift ended became a real problem as weakness and dehydration started to effect my health. I have been a nurse for about nine years and never experienced anything like this. So that being said, just be very cautious if you decide to work here. If a competitive pay rate and huge caseloads are something you enjoy doing then be sure to apply.

That’s pretty much it. Nursing homes tend to have catty leadership that would rather bring down their employees and never life a finger to actually help. I did injure myself while working here and the leadership turned on me rather quickly. I went from someone they wanted to be a part of leadership to someone they wanted to get rid of. And to top it all off, they went around telling people I have “issues” due to my mental illness which is protected by the ADA by the way. 
Pay was low for hard work and constantly micromanaged. 
My department supervisor however was incredible. She really taught me how to be a better employee and often stood up for us against the higher ups in the nursing home. She worked with my schedule and really encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I would’ve stayed if she had stayed.

Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is one of the best jobs I have had. Management supports me on a daily basis. My concerns are addressed professionally and in a timely manner. The Executive Director cares about the residents and knows each employee by name. My co-workers genuinely care about each other and offer assistance when needed. 

We work in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly. Never once have I doubted the choices that have been made. After reading the negative comments as of late, I have to wonder what's really behind the anger and negativity. 

Please don't allow the negativity to effect your decision to work at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. This is a family-oriented facility that cares about the lives of all the residents and staff.

The administrator makes his presence known but rarely follows through on anything and just tells employees what they want to hear. The owners have been to the facility several times in the recent months and it doesn’t seem that they have taken the time to listen to the staff. They walk through briefly and will ask quick questions but it’s rare that the employees have time to actually answer questions and discuss the things needing to be discussed. So as they walk through, they see a well oiled machine but they’re not seeing the real picture and don’t seem interested in knowing what really goes on day to day. If they would take time to listen to the employees that work in that environment day in and day out, they might have a better idea as to what really goes on or what is causing long term employees to quit. 

I had orientation yesterday and I will say the initial experience was amazing. I came to Gardner Rehab because one of my frineds that I worked with at another rest home told me it was better and more money. To my surprise, so far she was right.... During orientation class all of the Managers came in and spoke to us, we toured the facility and met all the staff on duty.They told us they are still in the process of making updates but so far its beautiful. I came from another rest home facility and so far Gardner Rehab is a way better atmosphere. It seems as though there has been a lot of changes and more in the works so I think this new job will be great for me and my family. Looking forward to finally enjoying my job!

Upper Management is nothing more than a gossip knitting circle.  They sit around in the corner office gossiping and complaining like a bunch of middle school girls.  Meanwhile, their underpaid and overworked CNA's and staff Nurses are running around trying to keep the residents safe.  This is by far THE worst environment to work in that you could imagine.  If you dont fit in with this clique, they will find a reason to destroy your career there.  Do yourself a favor, apply at WENDY's next door....you'll save yourself the aggravation of wanting to quit, or worse, getting wrongfully terminated down the road!!

Typical day included enough to keep employees busy but enough downtime to not feel overworked. Learned how to work well in a team and pay attention to details. Workplace culture was relaxed but easy to get lots of work done. A few regulations to keep food and beverages safe. Hardest part of the job was only having 3 1/2 hours to complete all work, when we needed more time. Most enjoyable part was working with awesome coworkers and the short shifts.

I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to work here. The training was very thorough and it was nice to meet all of Management. I have been here for a couple months now, but it just feels right. I am currently going for my RN, right now working as a CNA and I hope I am given the opportunity for a RN position here once i graduate. Staffing can sometimes be low, but honestly not nearly as bad as any other place I've worked as a CNA. Plus when they are short, Managers who are RNs and LPNs step in to assist.

Overall great place to work, highly recommend!!! For me the grass was greener.....

A lot of disgruntled employees have left recently but the staff that is left are AMAZING! The CNA s and nurses work very hard and care about their patients tremendously. There have been some management changes that I think will be good once they get the chance to show their employees how much they rely on them. It’s tough to work short staffed, but where else do you get $ for gas from your boss? Most of the management really care and a few of them come in to work as CNAs on the weekends even after putting in their full week. Give it a chance, there are a lot of great people here!

The owners and the staff care and work as a team. It’s busy but it’s not a stressful environment. You feel valued working for them and not micromanaged.
