You have a numbers driven plant with a significant amount of overtime or significant amount of downtime to the extent of layoffs.
The supervision is very minimal, Associates have no accountability enforced from management, Favoritism is not allowed but often seen, High premium based insurance with high deductibles and Lack of communication on a daily basis from floor associates to upper management.

High stress environment due to not having the required materials to build customer demands which leads to constant pressure when material goods arrive, constant over time 6-7 days a week and mandated 12 hrs when necessary. Does not leave much time for Family Life.

Low Morale which stems from positive incentives being taken on a yearly basis. Radios were taken, Good health insurance taken, Maternity Management Program was taken, Breaks no longer allowed outside, Earned vacation taken an recurred through out the year down to Management just not caring.

Poor air quality due to lack of ventilation, saws disbursing rubber dust into atmosphere, locked air vents, closed dock doors with decent weather, holes drilled into pipes of ventilation system to save money by making filters last longer. Rubber dust is breathed daily.

I do not recommend this job to any over achievers you will be worked till you have nothing left to offer then easily discarded.
I do not recommend this job to any female who plans to have children in the future.This company is a male dominated facility that is unsure of how to handle a pregnant women.
I do not recommend this company to anyone who is family orientated  you will never get to see them.
I do not recommend this job to anyone looking for advancement, the facility is small with no room to advance.

I recommend this job to single people who care not of free time or possible future health issues.

Above all my experience at Gates wasn't all that bad. There were times where it was very frustrating, but this wasn't a result of the work itself, more the carelessness and low morale of the floor personnel. After about a year it finally got to a point where my shift was staffed with good mill room personnel. This in turn made the test results more consistent, resulting in less quality related issues. I came in thinking my background and skills in biochemistry were going to be an asset; but didn't end up using many of those analytical skills. There are no opportunities to move into higher paying positions with more responsibility, which was unfortunately one of the main reasons I sought employment elsewhere. If you are looking to get some laboratory experience that doesn't necessarily deal with the rigorous application of scientific concepts, then go for it! If you are like me and like to use your brain power and scientific knowledge; then this position will simply not be a good fit for you. You will not be performing complex laboratory analysis, nor will you draw from your mathematical/scientific toolbox to solve problems. The job is pretty simple. The people were some of the friendliest I've ever worked with though. I feel like the importance of the laboratory needs to be made clear to the mill room personnel. Data doesn't lie!

I really enjoyed working here because they gave me a chance where nobody else did to be able to drive a cherry-picker or reach truck. I have worked in several different warehouses and distribution centers getting a lot of experience in several different things suck as picking and packing among shipping and receiving and RF scanner use and a few other things. The only thing i needed was Pit operator experience such as a forklift license or cherry-picker. Ive always wanted to learn and this place gave me the chance. I am so thankful for that because i learned that i am really really good at driving a cherry picker, and i love to do it. At this job i drove a cherry picker and sometimes a walkie truck to pick orders, or to stock product into different bens using a RF scanner to tell me all the locations to drive to in order to drop off the product or pick the product out. It was a great place to work, but as much as i enjoyed my job it was not somewhere I seen myself staying at until retirement because it did not offer anything including full-time employment, there where never going to be no raises or health benefits or any way to move up so this was just a temporary job, and i am seeking a life long career.  


At Gate's Corporation, my experience as a machine operator  has been a mixed bag. On one hand, my coworkers have been a pleasure to work with, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. However, the machines themselves leave much to be desired. The polymer injectors often malfunction or produce subpar results, making my job more challenging than it needs to be.

Unfortunately, the frustration doesn't end there. The upper management team's ineffectiveness at addressing issues with the machines is glaringly apparent. Despite repeated reports and requests for maintenance or upgrades, little action is taken to rectify the situation. This lack of responsiveness from upper management not only hampers productivity but also reflects poorly on the company's commitment to employee satisfaction and operational excellence.

In conclusion, while Gate's Corporation boasts a strong team of coworkers, the subpar quality of the machines and the inadequate response from upper management are significant drawbacks. Improvements in both equipment quality and managerial responsiveness are necessary to enhance the overall work experience and productivity at Gate's Corporation.

Maintaining contact with current and potential customers. This may include presentations, education on new products and services, service calls, or just calling to check on my clients. I developed my sales presentation skills and problem solving skills. Learned the importance of relationship building and reaching out not only for sales calls but just to stay in touch. In addition, I developed my elevator presentation for use at expos and trade shows. 
Management focus and leadership changed over the years. The company was family owned when I started and gradually changed. In the beginning, the focus was on quality and building/maintaining healthy productive relationships with both customers and co-workers. Co-workers were always willing to assist with large projects and we all would pitch in to set up new stores and develop relationships or provide sales leads. The hardest part of the job was the extensive travel. The most enjoyable part of the job was building relationships with various business owners and managers and presenting new exciting products to assist them in building revenue.

Company has completely declined over the years. Used to be a great place to work but now all the workers on the floor have the lowest morale and seem like they have had the life sucked out of them.

Turn over rate is through the roof, morale is an all time low, training is non-existent. Overtime is demanded from all departments because of the lack of workers. 

No incentive for current employees to stay, barely any minimum cost of living raises. You can be a dedicated worker for years and receive nothing for it, managers who won’t even sink to walk out on the production floor unless it’s required or an absolute emergency. 

No fair pay scale for production workers, completely different standards of jobs across departments with the same pay rate. Meaning, if you are in certain departments prepare to run yourself ragged just to be paid just as much as the person sitting one department over whose only job is putting a cap on a part. 

I could go on, but unless they improve their employee relations and stop sending major processes to Mexico there’s really no point in applying.

The people who work in the warehouse are very nice and are willing to help when you need it.  This does not transfer from the office to the warehouse workers.  The management team is abusive in how they speak to people and forget about ever getting ahold of the human resources manager because she never answers her phone, rarely associates with anyone in the warehouse and is in the back pocket of the distribution center manager.  The facility plan always changes from one day to the next.  You can not count on what time you will go home at night.  You might have to start work at 4:00 a.m. in the morning and work 12 hours for the first few days.  Then you might have to work 8 to 10 the next few days.  No consistency in planning.  The turnover is high and the moral is very low.  No support for the employees and no advancement.  The management team hires outside the facility and does not invest in the employees currently working there.

Working with Gates Co. in saudi arabia has been a a fast track for me, my daily routine was no ordinary like any other staff. I organize my things to do before the morning starts, arranging my clients to visit the next day and completing the paper works before the day ends. I've learned a lot from working with gates, i started my career from the bottom working my way up to being senior sales engineer the first and only from Gates to reach the position i have. I trained myself so hard to master and to become expert in every thing that i do. I worked with so many personalities with different nationalities. Every people i worked with was part of my experience in dealing with different character. The hardest part of my experience with Gates was when i travel alone and work alone in 350km away from our shop, working alone in the oil rig under the highest temperature that a man can manage but the rest was enjoyable knowing that every bit of hard work paid off. I enjoyed the participating in trainings and seminars.

There are great people to communicate with at gates but unless they're a team lead or higher you might have to watch what you say. If you get injured and are a tough person better not be because they deny. If you plan on having weekends might want to plan again because they have what they call scheduled Saturdays and sometimes very rarely Sundays that means you come in or it counts against your attendance. They don't care what weather is outside you need to be at work. The management is bad so they hire people they know or kiss up really well not the most certified. Majority of those team leads have know clue about the job so they tend to stay on top of you the whole time expecting you to out work the robots. And even if you are that good and avoid injury and somehow can deal with and work around the management eventually something will happen out of your control like a forklift backing upon to your machine and they'll fire you for horseplay. In general if you want to work here have no life or make friends GOOD LUCK seriously with all my best wishes

I was hired as a Territory manager for the Automotive Aftermarket.
I was told that overnight travel would be no more that 2 nights per month.  Not true.  This job requires a lot of overnight travel, and is not a sales job.  This position is mainly a merchandising job.  Set up new auto parts stores, product changeovers, and counting customer's inventory are just a few examples of the merchandising position.  The company sends reps on 2-3 week changeovers; all labor intensive.  You are there for the entire time, and expected to take care of "your" customers, after putting in a 10 hour day of labor.  They are also VERY stingy on meal allowance, $38 per day (including tips) is all they pay, no matter what part of the country you are in.

Also, as a Territory Manager, you can not negotiate dollars, freight, or any special terms.  

Commission is paid on company results and not individual victories.  If a Gates Territory Manager closes a $30 million deal, the may get $100 gift card with a pat on the back.
