Lots of smart people that want to see you succeed here. If you are willing to put in the effort you can make a career here. Almost all of the supervisors come from working on the shop floor. Even some of the engineers worked in the shop while they worked on their education.

Benefits are really good and the pay is hard to beat without driving all the way out to Elkhart or Goshen. The facility is very clean compared to most shops. It's also well lit and doesn't have the dungeon look going on like so many manufacturing facilities do.
They pay on a level system so your raises are based on what you can do and not how long you have been employed. It's not a perfect system but I liked it.

Now you WILL work 6 days a week for 10 hour days. Some holiday breaks will be the only thing that keeps you from working 6 days a week for years. If making money is what you are after (it is) then this is the place to be. 20 hours a week at time and a half plus Sundays are voluntary, and also pay double time.

I would recommend working here to anyone. Just as long as they understand it's not a 40 hour a week job. I learned a ton here and everyone has the opportunity to do the same.

They hire you to fire you. I had great attendance & a hard worker. They told me I was on administration leave for inappropriate behavior at first. So after 8 days later I called & asked about my job status & HR told me they are still investigating it. The next day the owner of the circus called me himself & told me my job was terminated due to something I said. They never told me what I said or did. Management, my supervisor & team lead was terrible. I had lazy coworkers who stayed on their phones & in the rest rooms, walking around doing absolutely nothing but chatting with the team lead & supervisor in the office snitching. It's like being a prisoner/slave camp . They have cameras everywhere & watchtowers.They let the lazy stay lazy & the hard workers, they want them to pick up the slack with NO rewards. If you like being treated like a child, this is the place for you. I'm now pursuing legal advise. If you do decide to work there, keep your mouth closed & don't trust NOBODY.

This company is fairly new building. The owner improves his building by adding new machines but not the raise. Takes very long to get a raise or even a 25 cent raise. Have to take all these test over and over again to get a single dollar. The company is cheap if the economy is slow the owner will cut a lot of stuff. Like when I was there he took out uniform pants, layed off people and cut out other small job requirements equipment for employees. So this ain't a job security job so make sure to have a back up. There's lots of positions to take on the company and operate machines but the process to get payed for doing it is very slow. The employees there were very nice and everyone so far was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the job a lot and would of stayed but it pays to low to support a family. But a great place to learn machinery and put it on your resume.


What is the best part of working at the company?
General Stamping is the best place I've ever worked and it's down from the front office to the people. I directly work with five star companies and I'm only a temporary employee under contract with Spherion Temporary Service. I can only hope and pray that I become a full-time employee so I could retire here.

Believe it or not, it's not very stressful at all. It's the best place I've ever worked again from the front office to the people I directly work with very good environment

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They make even temporary people feel like they're a part of the team. I couldn't have asked for a better assignment. Amazing atmosphere

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's a very physical job but gratifying at the same time!!

While I enjoyed working with most of my coworkers, the overall work environment was extremely toxic. Upper management fostered a culture of fear rather than support, often resorting to yelling and hostility instead of constructive leadership. Integrity was lacking at multiple levels, making it difficult to trust the decision-making processes.

The stress level was consistently high, not due to the nature of the work itself, but because of poor leadership and unrealistic expectations. Employees were not valued, and doing your job correctly could still result in unfair criticism. If you’re looking for a healthy and professional workplace, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

If you are not if a minority race, they will ensure that you are the first to be fired for one mistake. The managers and leads will take their sweet time in leveling you up and your pay raise for each level will never come. Bonuses will only go into the managements pockets and never yours. If you do end up working here, I recommend a military grade gas mask because of all the dust and radiation that is put off from all the lasers. AM shift is from 0500-1530, and PM shift is from 1530-0200, unless you are morning shift, expect to never see your family. The leads can never keep up with creating nests so expect to work Saturdays.

Pay great advancement takes forever but still doing work beyond pay grade ! Over worked for numbers every goal you set will get replaced shunned and replaced by a bigger one ! No satisfaction from management ! Good pay cause you’ll work every day for 10 hours wether there is work or not ! Every meeting isn’t to thank you but to tell you a fake complaint from upper management , to mentally convince you to do more than what your doing already . Supervisors care more bout politics or caring bout people personal lives than supervising ! Was a great place to work at a time now it’s favoritism and blantant racism!

Overall this is a grate place to work it’s has its pros and cons but that’s anywhere you will find. vary laidback environment and vary little pressure from management aslong as your keeping busy and preforming to expectations. Periods of mandatory overtime also has its slow times during the year depending on supply demand. but overall a steady pace of work and management its vary helpful and flexible with emergencies and last minute notices on days off. Basically if you show up and do your job and come in with a good attitude you will advance quickly.

GSM has a 2 very solid crews with amazing abilities in the metal fabrication industry.  I would have to say the way they teach the new hires to become excellent fabricators

Laid back with team effort culture.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For me a typical day is reminding the team of all PPE is worn as #1 is Safety,#2 is Quality ,and #3 is production. Most of the guys arrive with 10 fingers and toes I expect they go home the same way!

The workers here are for the most part very good. Except for a few exceptions everyone works as a team and the days go smoothly. Pay for the work we do is abysmal; any stainless shop in the area pays far better. Leads in the shop are great but management above them is beyond terrible. It seems like the worse a worker is the more they protect them and try to keep them. If a worker is good then they couldn’t care less if they leave. Rather than try to retain experienced welders and fabricators they think they can replace them through temp agencies. Definitely would not recommend working here.
