* A typical day at work usually starts off by getting into my Cubicle, checking my emails for shift updates, speaking to the other shift about what tasks have been done, what is currently in process and what needs to be completed, our group splits up to cover areas and tasks to complete for the night, Fills & Unloads are priority and are communicated thru our team via emails, teams along with Manufacturing to coordinate staging, set-up times.
*In my time there in Gilead as a Contractor, I learned quite alot on being on the QC side of things after so many years of experience on the Manufacturing side, I am grateful I was given an opportunity here for career growth.
*During the start of my shift, not much Management is present on site, they do stay at times for one on one meetings or conferences with the team and are usually available to contact via teams or by email, in regards to Senior Management and SLT from headquarters, there have been some changes, back when I had just boarded, the plan was to convert all contractors into FTE's, however with changes going on at the top, becoming a full time employee with Gilead seems to be Impossible and from my opinion seems quite unstable as a contractor, and that is a unfortunate thing because there are some tremendous employees with talent that are hoping to become FTE's one day only to be turned away, this was something I did address with my superiors at my Contracting Agency who do provide good communication with emails and monthly meetings.
*About workplace culture, overall it seems to be really good, but also it all depends on the team and shift you work in, I absolutely enjoyed my team I was with, great communication and camaraderie, we took alot of pride on getting tasks done and backed eachother up, I will never forget that, incredible team I was with on End of Weeknights, however I will admit it is a bit discouraging when it comes to company events, Contractors are not able to attend all events.
*Hardest part of the job is usually things don't always go according to plan or equipment to work correctly or at times being shorthanded, however during those times I felt it built character on facing adversity and being quick thinking when a unexpected problem occurs.
*The most enjoyable part of my Job honestly was just being appreciated and acknowledged by hard work, whether it was taking one for the team providing coverage in the Aseptic Process Area for most of the day or coming in on my off day due to the other shift being shorthanded or providing a shift update email with attention to detail and most importantly, great teamwork I had.

Be prepared to be a yes person. If you do not agree with them, they will throw you under the bus at first chance to make themselves look good. I don't believe in making yourself look good by making someone else look lousy contractor or FTE. Your work will speak for itself. Quid Pro Quo is the key  (contractor) pays for a manager to fly to an event in India all expenses paid by the contractor which is still at present, working at Gilead working on the same projects and very close with the said manager (Hiking, hanging out, etc.). Then you have family working in the same department, maybe not with the same "manager" but under the same department umbrella. From what I understand, Gilead just revamped their compliance department. HR may want to take a look at this as it does upset the work environment, which puts a damper on the department. Employees are not able to be themselves or vent with one another for fear of relative, letting the other know who works for an executive in the same department; therefore, they could lose their job.  We are required to take a course from day one speaking about receiving gifts from both internal and external parties (including contractors) does this only apply to individual employees and contractors?  As for inclusiveness, it is a joke; it is all for show if you don't believe me pull the data on ethnicity, and you will see what for yourself. Managers do not work with you to help you achieve your goals to advance up the ladder, as stated in your one on one reviews. I can't say to work for them or not. But, if you have integrity, you may want to think about what you are willing to sacrifice for a position at Gilead.

Gilead is fast paced and busy workplace, everyone is expected to work hard and work lean. The first 3 years that i was there I was moved to 3 different bosses, 3 reorganization and 1 layoff. It's consistently changing and you need to be able to keep up. It gets really stressful when FDA is there which is true for other company that goes to the same process. As far as my department is concern, I like that even the lower level person can speak with higher management and they listen as they are open to ideas. You learn a lot and you can advance if you are eager and willing to follow the company culture, can play politics and go above and beyond your role, there is no balance in your work/life. When I wake up I find email sent late at night, way early in the morning, weekends and sometimes text messages even while on vacation asking me about work which can be communicated in work hours or when I get back, sometimes be given task with very little time to work on or late in the afternoon expected to be done on that day given no option but to stay late, when again this can wait until the next work day. If you are ready for this kind of work process then this place is for you.

On must be totally obedient, compliant, and do all you can to make your boss/manager look good.  Don't get upset but instead even offer to let him or her take all the credit for your accomplishments.  Never disagree with him or her in front of others.  Never go to the HR to complain about him or her.  It could be career arresting if not ending.  The only safe time and venue to raise it if you have an issue with your boss or manager is at the company culture required and mandated weekly one on one and face to face meeting.  But quickly drop the subject if he or she becomes uncomfortable discussing or denies the existence of your perceived issue.   Your annual raise, bonus, and stock option are mostly dependent on how successfully you please him or her and have  very little to do with your actual job performance.  Liking him or her is much more important than trusting or respecting him or her.  Majority of bosses and managers are pretty much autocratic dictators.  Promotion is again totally dependent on how much and how often have you pleased him or her and how often you made him or her look good. 

I have been working at Gilead for about a year as a contractor in the  Raleigh office an office that is new to the area. Initially I was really excited to be a part of the team and hoped to one day become a permanent employee, After having been here the past 12 months I find myself in a position of upset. As contractors we work to establish the completion and excellence of the work the same way that regular employees do, but we are not included in any of the events that take place during collaboration days. Nor could we attend the holiday party. So many opted not to go at all.  Days that were strategically  put in place to help establish a culture. Gilead makes  billions but we cant all eat at lunch. While our departments are run so lean the turn over of actual employees is high becuase of the environment and lack of inclusivity. Yet contractors are treated like 2nd class citizens. Raleigh is one of the hotest places to move you would think, that they would want to build a real foot print here. what works in cali may not work in NC. A lot of bridges are being burned due to the way it feels to come to work each day to not be included., 

There is essentially no work-life balance  and they can care less about your well being and your family. All they care about is making money. "For the love of money is the root of all evil!" Gilead demands you to work untill they tell you to go home. I'm not joking here, I slept in my car after working back to back 15-20 hour shifts. I have the many time card printouts to prove it! Gilead clams this is the best package you can find. Well these people haven't worked anywhere else in alot of years, they are inexperienced in what is offered out there now a days. What good is having benefits when you cant even take time off to go to the dentist or doctors because if your not at work your missing deadlines which hold up production which equals loss of money. This place is cancerous and I was out of there before that cancer killed my relationship with my family. You can make money anywhere, this place is not the only place in the world to make a great living in. If you care about your family and your well being look for employment elsewhere. If you just care about making money this is a place for you. But let me tell you all the money in the world cant buy happiness.

- Myopic Gilead IT leaders who expect extreme, blind loyalty yet do not understand that blind loyalty abrogates stated core values of Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Accountability
- Intimidation tactics, humiliation, and bullying of employees who have different opinions
- Manipulation and fraudulent behavior to “re-write” history in favor of Gilead IT
- No one in Gilead IT Leadership is held accountable because of cronyism
- Narcistic, self important, arrogant attitudes stymy scientic/medical business progress and patient-first efforts
- Witholding critical information from business partners to manipulate decisions favoring Gilead IT, regardless of patient needs
- Subpar internal Gilead IT business acumen with an even lower understanding of the Pharma business partners they support
- Zero priority customer-focus environment
- Extreme dysfunctionality mixed with trumpian-like narcistic culture

Working Working in a team within a team of 6, providing implementation, development, guidance and support services to UK and EMEA-based business users, Global IS teams, Global Service Desk, and 3rd party support providers.

•	Supervising all IT functions relative to 400 VIPs, Directors, Scientists and Sales Reps.
•	Active Directory administration, VMware (VMSphere) administration , Horizon Client and VDI administration.
•	Escalation point for other IT members reporting to directly to Gilead Management HQ in Paris.
•	Worked closely with External Vendors with Major audits and compliance regulations.
•	Working involvement of Microsoft Exchange Administrator, Active directory management and Mobile Iron device management, with heavy exposure to CISCO IP Telephony including administration of Cisco call manager Version 9.
•	Vodafone site administrator, functions relating to Asset Management  of all Mobile devices, associated billing accounts and identification codes for all devices. 
•	Procurement troubleshooting, administration and deployment of all Microsoft, iOS and Android devices.
