I have been at GLS for almost 2 years now and overall, the company has equipped me well and shaped me for the better.  I started as a Loan Admin Coordinator I, quickly moved up to Payment Processing, and am now in Compliance.  

I am extremely thankful for the quick adaptation GLS made for all its employees to work from home when COVID-19 began, and the fact that I still have a job to this day despite the events of the past year.  I have even seen my second promotion during the pandemic while working from home.

Even though I was only recently promoted to Compliance, I have already received encouragement from my current manager regarding my goals and next steps within the company.  I began working with GLS right after obtaining my bachelors degree and am now planning to earn my MBA and pursue a couple of professional certifications relevant to the position I wish to make it to.

While each of the 3 managers I've had at GLS have been highly supportive of my goals to move up in the company, one rather annoying part of the company's internal progression is the near complete denial to 'skip levels'.  The company is built up of about 9 of these levels, ranging from entry-level coordinator to Vice President.  Each position within the company falls on one of those levels.  Since I started at the very bottom level, I've had to step up one level by one.  With my bachelors degree, I would have been eligible to enter the company at a Manager level.  

Despite my frustration with that, I am thankful for the experience and knowledge of the company I've gained by working my way through the ranks.  My dream job is another promotion or two away, and I hope to remain with GLS while reaching that final goal because the company has overall been a great experience for me so far!

As stated by other employees managers play favorites. And all the managers are very cliquish. You have to go into the office twice a month. Which is fine. However more times than not your manager doesn't even come and speak to you. On several occasions my manager wasn't even in the office when we came in. Nor were we told. So it was a little difficult to understand the purpose. All of your stats, QA scores, etc. Are included in one big report that is sent out to everybody. So everybody knows how everybody else is doing. Different departments are all on the same report. You're expected to make 200 outbound calls minimum. There is a lot to be done for the hourly wage that you earn. And, personally ,the integrity of the company is questionable. You are required to get 20 extensions a month and you must offer them on every single account that is eligible. This isn't in the best interest of the borrower. These individuals are put in loans with interest rates that are ridiculous and payments they can't afford. It is not uncommon for an account to be only 3 months old and already in collections. Global Lending services is only concerned about one thing.  And that is the almighty dollar,  at any price. You're getting subpart wages and making this company a ton of money.

GLS is below standards in all company metrics based on job satisfaction, company guidelines and processes, working balance, leadership effectiveness, skills and knowledge, as well compensation based on market value. Based on the other company they are compared to in the market, the new company has some work to do to be one of the top rank companies. It takes more than driving sales to run an effective business. As well doing all business aspects with business acumen professionalism and Integrity. Lack of consistent and effective Leadership/Managers, company guidelines. No customize professional attendance guidelines and performance guidelines. Management professional interactions for all employees. Treating all employees fairly without nepotism. Properly compensating all employees based on market salary. Clear performance guidelines to set employees up for Success not failure, Get rid of Management leaders who have bad attitudes and demeanor around other employees. All leaders are not approachable, have a do as I say mentality and make decisions on employees career based on favoritism. 

If you are not a senior funder- you do not matter! Phones and work load are not realistic... you can tell it is a man industry; no real organization.  Managment and upper positions are mostly given to their favorite people, who are not necessarily qualified. Within job Description-  managers have to have a college degree and management experience - not true, just a senior funder that made the company a lot of money and them liking you! Absolutely...No appreciation to other employees; it is so sad. YES, THIS IS A GROWING COMPANY BUT EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SHOULD NOT ONLY COME FROM HR. Some of the ideas are good, but they are so twisted with money driven thoughts that turn them bad. Employees would stay longer if they would just treat them with respect; many great funders have left, not because they wanted to but because they were not treated right—- I watched 3 funders leave before me. The environment is just a competition meaning no teamwork- everyone for themselves. When it comes to a SENIOR FUNDER’s deal- I have seen other funders not make notes for them, not tell them an update and this is due to them taking their deal on the 6th day. JUST REMEMBER YOU WILL NEVER BE AT THE TOP, HAVE A HIGH BONUS OR RECOGNIZED, NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU WORK—- why? —YOU ARE NOT A SENIOR FUNDER.

DON'T WORK FOR THIS COMPANY PERIOD! Training was the best part of the job. Once it ended, you were mostly left on your own. Upper management made all the decisions, and employees had very little control over their work or pay. A big part of the job was to harass people with nonstop calls just to hit the metrics. Sharing ideas or raising concerns never changed anything. Even taking leave could affect your position or paycheck, so the job never felt stable. 

Hard work did not lead to better rewards. I watched people bring in great results and still get treated the same as everyone else. There is a lack of appreciation. The company expected more every month but gave very little back. It was frustrating to see good employees lose motivation. That made it harder to stay positive. 

Communication was another big problem. Rules are always changing, and nobody explained why. Asking questions usually got you the same recycled answers. It was hard to trust management when nothing was clear. Small problems stayed around much longer than they should have. Employees were expected to adjust instead of getting real support. I stayed hoping things would improve, but leaving was the better choice. 

I have been working at Global Lending Services for some time now, and while there are positive aspects, recent changes have left me feeling frustrated. Initially, there was a promise that upon reaching a certain level, employees could leave at 7. Unfortunately, this privilege has been revoked, and now we're required to work until 8.

Expressing concerns about these changes proves to be challenging. The manager, though inviting questions and concerns in meetings, He seems uninterested and reacts negatively when employees voice their frustrations. This creates an environment where it feels better to keep one's opinions to oneself.

Furthermore, there appears to be a noticeable bias towards in-office employees. The strictness regarding punctuality, with public reprimands on the floor for minor lateness, contrasts sharply with the leniency towards those working from home. This disparity seems unfair, especially considering external factors such as traffic or car issues.

While Global Lending Services has its merits, addressing these issues could significantly improve the overall work experience for its employees.

I want to share my experience regarding the sick leave policy at my company. At our workplace, we do not have the benefit of sick days. Instead, we are required to accumulate PTO before we can take a sick day. This policy creates a significant hardship for employees, especially when they need to take time off due to illness.

Sick days are a crucial safety net for employees, allowing them to take care of their health without jeopardizing their job or financial stability. The current policy puts unnecessary stress on employees and could lead to employees coming to work when they should be resting, potentially spreading illnesses to others.

I believe that implementing a fair and compassionate sick leave policy that allows employees to take the necessary time off when they are unwell would greatly improve the working conditions and overall job satisfaction. This change would not only benefit the well-being of employees but also contribute to a more productive and healthier work environment.

I hope the company considers revising this policy to better support its employees' health and overall job satisfaction.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The  only gratification was connecting with your peers daily to discuss all of th3 road blocks and lack of leadership throughout the company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Using your own money  upfront for travel and waiting 2 weeks sometimes 4 weeks to be reimbursed.  A prepaid corporate card would be sufficient.  Your sole responsibility is to be in the field visiting dealers. They would cap your mileage for the month. Which in return you would have to wait 2 weeks, and short yourself each time you submitted an expense report. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is really laid back with no sense of direction or leadership to be successful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Check emails, review sales force, create and daily plan and visit dealers (existing and prospects).

•	Establish individual Credit Analyst goals to meet the department goals.
•	Worked in building and maintaining a high quality loan portfolio, while ensuring the highest level of profitability for the organization. 
•	Assisted in developing, revising, and enhancing Underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures as necessary to align with organizational goals. 
•	Use daily reporting, monitor organizational performance to ensure consistency of underwriting standards and take appropriate action to improve consistency whenever necessary. 
•	Ensure appropriate turn-time levels within the department as directed by senior leadership. 
•	Monitor associate productivity, quality of deals worked and other appropriate metrics to ensure performance expectations are achieved; providing meaningful and timely performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff as necessary.

The company is a great company to work for.A typical day includes coming in organizing your queue of accounts and making outbound calls trying to get customers to make their payments. Management is pretty good for the most part. Workplace culture is good I think that they could include more fun days like spirit week or employee appreciation day for their employees. The job is really not hard just come in and do your work and you will be okay. The only thing I can suggest to the company would be to change the hours from rotating to a set schedule or having two diff shifts a morning shift and a afternoon or mid shift because people lifestyles are different sometimes rotating shifts can be a headache. They also could do better with approving PTO time. I feel like if its yours to use it shouldn't take until the day before for it to be approved.
