The workload can be tedious,  repetitive and boring, but you get used to it. Communication could be improved. But overall the position pays well and we get to work remotely (or at least some of us do).

There a few issues that do annoy me about this company:

1. No sign of being hired as a FTE with benefits after working here for a year: I've been employed at this company for more than a year now as a "contractor" and I see zero sign of being hired full-time and they seem to be dragging their feet about it. Technically, since we're contractors, we don't get benefits, like paid holidays or health insurance, so you'll lose 8hrs of pay for each federal holiday, especially at the end of the year when it's back-to-back holidays. But a lot of the times when a holiday is about to roll around, they do try and make up for it by giving us overtime work, which is a plus. I would also like to see some real job security by being hired full-time. A scary thought is they could just end the projects at short notice and let all of us contractors go. I don’t even know if we’re allowed the “2 week notice” like normal employees.

2. This company is definitely stingy on giving pay raises to those who have been selected for higher leader roles: They're willing to offer higher leadership roles if you show effort and interest on moving up, but don't expect a pay raise along with it. You will have the same base pay you started with. I know some people, who are technically my supervisors, who have been working at this company for years who make the same as I do, or one of them I know who has been working here for 4 years and makes a $1 extra than I do. So, if you're like me, fresh out of college with no real work experience and looking for some resume fluff, this is an excellent place to start out on, but just don't expect to work here for decades with chances of gaining pay raises over the years.

3. There is a position as a “Super Rater” that pays a lot more ($21 - $28hr, I think $25 is the average), but you need a Master’s Degree: It’s basically the same as the other raters with some extra steps, but it’s ridiculous that you need a Master’s Degree as a requirement. I could understand a Bachelor's Degree, but a Master’s Degree is a bit much. For a basic annotator, all you need is to have a high school diploma. Maybe I’m just salty about it (I am), because I have a Bachelor's Degree and I would definitely apply as a Super Rater if that dumb requirement was in the way. If I had a Master's Degree, I definitely wouldn’t be working for $28hr. Just sayin’, seems a bit backwards, in my opinion. Maybe by chance someone higher up in the company is reading this review, decides to give us a chance by changing the requirement for us lowly plebs with no Master’s Degree.

But otherwise, I am actually truly grateful to work here. It’s my first job right out of college, and my family came into some desperate times and I needed to step up. Even though their job listing looked like a scam, I gave it a shot and I got lucky.

Can't say much about how it is onsite at the company, as I do work remotely, out-of-state. But through the grapevine, I've heard drama is common and there's an issue with butt kisser's who do the bare minimum.

The overall job environment here is relaxed, no micromanaging, low drama, nice coworkers, and while sometimes a lot of work, it's easy work. The company likes to act like those things paired with free snacks from the kitchen mean pay raises and bonuses aren't necessary. I have been working here for 2 years now starting at 19/hr, with no pay raises or bonuses in sight. It is like this for my coworkers as well, unless you specifically move up in a leadership position. My trainee analyst role has more than tripled in workload since I first started here, so I have a normal expectation of pay raise where there is more workload, however that expectation is not being met. We also used to be a remote company once covid hit, and in my opinion we functioned better while working from home and employees were happier and provided the same work ethic. However, due to somebody having too much control, most of us are required to work in the office full time now even though the work is extremely independent and easily accomplished at home.. and yes, I said MOST of us. It has recently come to my realization that there are other employees that do the same exact work that I do, or similar, and are working from home. There is no explanation for why this is happening and management keeps things very much on the DL, and they make excuses for everything. 

Your first year at global logic, even though you do full time work at full time hours, they will consider you a contract employee to get away with not giving you PTO, sick time, or paid holidays. These things are offered but only AFTER you have been here for a year and "transition to a full time employee". They also require you to take off excessive amounts of days surrounding some holidays, which is very nice if you've been here for a year. Otherwise, be ready to take a pay cut during your first year around any holiday. 

19/hr as a starting rate with no similar job experience or college degree is very nice, and it's the only reason I'm still working here, however, it is still less than the minimum needed income to survive in Austin. There are opportunities to move up into leadership positions that do get pay raises, although I don't know the details on that. Many people in my office have been working here for 4+ years, but most of them are in leadership roles because staying here for that long at the same 19/hr rate is not worth it. I would recommend this job to somebody that needs a placeholder job while pursuing something else.

I have been employed at this organization for nearly a year, and my experience has been generally okay, though not without its challenges. I will not comment on the ongoing remote/in-office dilemma between employees other than - yes, those that are fortunate to work from home have the same/very similar workload to in-office folks with the same exact pay.

The low qualifications required for the role were initially attractive, providing a welcome financial respite during a challenging period. However, the organizational structure and management leave room for improvement. While lower-level leads have proven to be approachable and supportive, challenges arise with higher-tier management, resulting in a somewhat dysfunctional chain of command.

During my tenure, I've observed recurring cycles in the hiring and layoff processes. I understand that our economy is in rough shape, however I do not believe it’s a valid excuse for how the company handles this. The company hires in large numbers only to initiate waves of layoffs when work diminishes, creating uncertainty and occasional discomfort among employees. The lack of clear communication, especially from upper management, contributes to this unease.

The position operates under a contract, offering a full-time schedule at $19/hr without benefits or PTO, which can be financially burdensome due to a considerable number of unpaid holidays. Additionally, the lack of information regarding potential job offers after a year of contract work adds to the uncertainty, affecting both job security and financial planning.

Transparency remains a significant concern. Improved communication between management and lower-level employees, especially in terms of performance metrics, standing within the company, and eligibility for promotion, would contribute to a more positive work environment. Currently, employees are often left in the dark about changes until the last minute, making it difficult to gauge performance or job security.
The work environment is fast-paced but manageable, with tasks often transitioning swiftly between projects. However, certain project leads tend to be overly hands-on, bombarding employees with unnecessary information that detracts from productivity. At this point it honestly just seems like they crave a sense of control. While the work is generally straightforward, addressing these management and communication issues could significantly enhance the overall job experience. It doesn’t seem like they’re on track to fix this anytime soon.

I've been a rater on this project since 2023. While it started out well, the issues quickly became apparent. The organization is poorly structured, and “promotions” or supervisory roles come with no increase in pay despite added responsibilities. Employees are written up if they don’t respond to messages within 15 minutes, creating an unrealistic and stressful work environment. Pay disparities are extreme, and there is virtually no path for advancement—unless you happen to be favored by management, you remain stuck in the same role.

The workload is unmanageable for one person, and expectations are unreasonably high. Some project areas function better than others, but roughly two-thirds are chaotic, with frequent turnover and a culture where employees feel mistreated. Healthcare options are limited to a high-premium, high-deductible HSA, which is only practical for those who rarely see a doctor. Even when hired by GlobalLogic as a full-time employee, benefits are almost nonexistent aside from holiday pay, making the distinction between being a contractor in the rater program and a full-time employee negligible. Overall, the system is poorly managed and unsustainable.

Starting out as a "Trainee Analyst, Content Engineering" was confusing. In the interview they don't really explain what the job is. The first 2 weeks were "training" (which was really just waiting for our credentials and paperwork to be finished up). After a while it became clear that we were hired as "raters" for AI products made by a big name "G" company. "Rater" basically means that you read the prompt a person gave a chat bot, and then you rate the chat bit response based on the clients guidelines. The job itself wasn't bad, but the team of leaders that ran this part of GlobalLogic were very unorganized. Raters would jump from task to task with little to no training time. This job had no benefits, and the pay was OK. It is a contract position. The hours were ok, but there was absolutely no flexibility in hours. No paid holidays and every little sick time. Task leaders struggled to answer rates questions about guidelines. Honestly it seemed like no one knew what was going on. The best part about the job was chatting virtually with coworkers (frequently sending memes and gifs to group chats). GlobalLogic really needs to take more time to focus on the projects and teams they alreadg have rather than continuing to take on new clients (they have 1000s of different "clients" so it seems like they are in over their heads sometimes)

I worked for Austin RMI. The work/life balance was great! 
I did well at my job and kept getting promoted and getting piled with more responsibility and more work. But there was never a hint of a pay increase or an offer for direct hire.

There is literally no point in doing more than the bare minimum here — because if you do well, you just make your own workload heavier. Even this part was somewhat tolerable because I really enjoyed that we could interact with a lot of interesting people in interest-specific social spaces. 
 
 As of last week, they decided that we were acting like humans instead of robots and they took away the social spaces. 

We all have Master's degrees, and they pay us a laughable pittance (and like HALF that to highly-qualified people overseas who are doing the exact same job.)

 They offer NO benefits and very few opportunities for advancement (the kind that come with a pay increase, anyway).
 They took away the ONLY real "perk" of the job, and then enacted some other dumb scare tactics to ruin the vibe completely. 

If you are looking for work like this, look elsewhere - unless you just need something to get by until you find something better. Because it doesn't "get better" here.

Such tasks include; watching over 75 channels of live TV, command set top box DVR recordings, view TV program guides, filter content at the touch of a button, and use the iPad as a remote to control their set top boxes across the home
 Very attractive UI was developed by in-house graphic design team and implemented by development team
 Primary architecture used are MVC and Singleton
 Heavy use of UIKit framework was implemented to display extremely unique UI

We are micromanaged to an extreme degree- so extreme it's degrading. Quantity and speed are prioritized above quality, and yet unreasonably high accuracy is demanded. People are paid vastly different rates for the same tasks. 
There is no support for the disturbing content we have to deal with daily- content that the company has acknowledged is related to PTSD, anxiety and depression. Health benefits you might use to get help for having seen this content are so lacking they may as well not be given. 
This company simply will not communicate with its employees, fires them for speaking out against poor working conditions, lays people off without warning or explanation, and does not give raises with promotions. 
An example of the ridiculous policies in place is that 30 days advance notice must be given in order to take planned time off, such as for doctor's appointments. 
The low pay makes you feel stupid for even putting up with these conditions. I would advise no one to take a job here, unless they truly have no other options. 


The SR-Team is ran by many unqualified individuals who have very little workforce experience and don't know the first thing about effective leadership, management, and business strategies. The hardest part of the job is the people and the fake toxic work environment. It's like crabs in a barrel and a house of cards daily. Cronyism is rampant and people who are in leadership pretend they are just so busy when they are not. Don't trust anything that comes out of their mouth as many use love bombing to build you up in team meetings but tear you down just as quickly when there is a disagreement. Diversity and equity is just an illusion and not at all practiced. You can also forget about getting compensated fairly for any of your hard work or title promotion you get. If you are an experienced worker with tons of skills, run as fast as you can in a different direction.
