I absolutely loved working at Goldcoast, they set me up for success from the time I started. My manager was very nice to me, the people were very nice to me. I was paid above market and given the tools to succeed. The one thing I wish I knew and I think anyone working there should know is be careful when you travel with your company laptop and if you have it company cellphone. Goaldcoast monitors the location of their devices and use the information to determine security threats. If you travel out of the country or you say your in one place, and leave one or both of your devices in another, it will be a problem. This company was hacked many a few years ago and had huge penalty and costs in punitive damages. They wont tell you, but they are super worried about security breaches. I lost my job because I loved to travel while working, thus I would come up on their security report often.    

My job consists of being the assistant to the Care Management team. Create and track all cases being assigned, distribute evenly to each RN or Social worker on the team. Track and report statistics for the state on a montly, quartly and weekly basis. Manage all new projects as a first point of contact for documentations or calls to be made that requires non-clinical duties.

The hardest part of my job is being the only clinical operations assistant that works under the team. I handle any and all non clnical duties for the team and assist 14 registered nurses.

The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to take the work load off the nurses in my department and handle all the little things that need to be done. I also enjoy that my boss can depend on me for all report needs.

I have never worked in an environment like this one. I have a supervisor who is invested in my growth. I work with professionals who are all passionate about helping people in the community. 

It can be stressful on occasion because of the work that we do in my department. But at the end of the day I know that everyone on my team is here for the right reasons. They are all passionate about the populations that we serve and are forever striving to reach further into the community and do more. 

The leadership is committed to positive work environments and supporting their employees. 

Really, I cannot say enough good things about working at Gold Coast.

I enjoyed going to work at Gold Coast Health Plan. Almost everyone was dedicated to getting the job done and worked well as a whole. My only issue was that they did not take suggestions very well. As I was doing programming and analysis, I felt justified in suggesting that contracts should be numbered to track related information directly to the contracts. Without this relationship, discovering solutions to problems with claims and providers was almost impossible.

I was always greeted with excitement when I approched anyone to get detailed information for inclusion in new processes.

The department I currently work in has experienced a change in leadership and it has been challenging. I have seen real teamwork and collaboration in other areas of the organization and I think the workplace culture is positive overall.  I have learned that it is important to attempt to foster collaboration and communication with both the director and coworkers in the department in an attempt to improve the department culture. GCHP promotes collaboration, respect, trust, accountability, and integrity - great core values that each department should focus on.  I have made a couple of new friends while working at GCHP and that has made my job enjoyable.

Manager would speaking with us each morning to check on any new issues that may have occurred over the course of the previous day.  Would speak with us on any projects we as a team or individually were working on.  Typical day of work on the Windows 10 project would be to set the user assigned to us on a new desktop or laptop machine and transfer any settings from old system to the new.  

Workplace culture was very team oriented.  Everyone worked toward the goal of assisting the patients within the health plan.  

Hardest part was toward the end of the project when the work started to slow down.  Most enjoyable was working with all departments and assisting them with their department goals.

I was part of GCHP during it's start up phase. I learned a lot from the various projects to develop policies, procedures and bilingual documentation for the Medi-Cal/Medi-Care community. 

It was an exciting learning environment that was led by an arrogant CEO that abused his power, created a hostile work environment that caused a lot of turnover, and, ultimately the CEO was fired all withing 8 months of getting started.

An organization were there's plenty of room for growth. Most of the employees within the organization are fantastic however some are very difficult to work with, which motivated me to leave the company due to the negativity. I figured I loved my job but refused to be part of a team that spent most of their day gossiping about everyone in the company. On the upside when working with those whom were there to be part of a team, it was a fantastic uplifting experience.

Has so much potential and many excellent people working there.  Upper management is lacking true transformational leadership skills.  In IT we do not have the tools to do our job and its a struggle to utilize our skillsets.  Very much a concept of 'stay in your lane'.  Not all departments are like this.  The Health Services side of the house are wonderful and have excellent leadership.
