More than 65% of the firm is under 30 and this is either their first or they’ve had one to two jobs prior. That saves money for the firm and employees don’t have much to compare experiences to. So that helps with retainment. Very cut-throat environment especially if you aren’t part of a clique. Great pay and bonus along with a poor work/life balance.

I found Golub Capital to be an excellent place to work. Hard work does not go unnoticed at Golub and people are able to take on as much work as they can handle. I felt generously compensated for my work. I was commonly asked by my manager which parts of my job I liked the most and which I would like to do less of. If I wasn't moving for personal reasons, I would have stayed at Golub.

Their success is more than evident.  They have been able to build a strong company and are leaders in the Middle Market Direct Lending space.  Both Golub brothers are highly intelligent and competitive, and led by micromanagement which has trickled down to senior and middle management.  Those who do not like to be micromanaged should stay away.  The pay was consistent with market rate.

My position was a guinea pig position which left not much to do during the day. All of my work would be completed but that left a lot of down time. Management would hardly be around to check in which could be a good thing but is discouraging when you're not sure if you're doing things correctly.

Golub Capital is a productive work place but the work life balance is not so good.  Working late nights off hours and some weekends is the norm.  Even when on vacation carrying a phone/checking emails is expected.

The admin team at Golub capital is not managed the best and micromanaged at times. Nowhere to really grow in the admin department. Mostly a seat at the desk job and follow the rules job.

The operations team does not provide much career advancement but it does help you think very critically as there are many moving parts. I liked how my managers encouraged me to automate my job or at least learn how to.

I believe my experience at Golub Capital was extremely productive and beneficial for me. I had both technical and communication skill improvement. Management was willing to help on improvement!

It was a contract role, however, they concluded the contractual period without notice.  Most temporary/contract jobs have a set time frame, or give at least 2 weeks notice to the ending of the role.

Demanding culture, all decisions come from the top, very successful and secure company, great mid-level managers, good opportunity for career growth and promotion.
