I had the pleasure of working as an IT Asset Management Coordinator, and it was an incredibly fulfilling experience. The role involved maintaining an organized and efficient inventory of IT assets, coordinating with various departments to ensure timely acquisition and disposal, and overseeing asset lifecycle management. I appreciated the opportunity to apply both my organizational skills and technical knowledge to keep everything running smoothly.

The team was collaborative, and I received great support from management in terms of resources and guidance. The position also provided valuable exposure to working with IT procurement, vendor relations, and asset tracking software, which enhanced my professional growth.

Overall, this role was a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and proactive problem-solving were highly valued.

A typical day was getting there at 8 and leaving at 4, I would start the day with simple tasks like filing and copying and just doing any errands to get them started and prepared for the day. Throughout the day I would either be assigned legal research to do or writing and preparing documents for court. The hardest part of the job was learning all the technicalities of the firm and just the language that lawyers use. Also, the computer system they use at the firm was all new to me so I was learning as I was going, but thankfully everybody that I worked for was super patient and taught me many valuable things within the time that I was there. The most enjoyable part of the job was the fact that when I was done with the internship I felt like I grew so much and learned so many new things in such a short amount of time.

I worked there for many years, despite having little hope for advancement.  It was the people who made it amazing to work there. They hired the right people. The staff were always fun to be around.  The attorneys were hit and miss. Some were great. Others were, well let's just say avoid at all costs.  They really worked around a good work/life balance. Compensation could use some work. Unless you want to be an attorney, you will have little chance for promotion.  They do favor women for secretarial roles though, so just be forewarned about that. When they did do corporate events, they went all out.  This was a good company to work for overall, just needs some improvements in certain areas.

The GRSM life for non-attorney staff is bleak. You basically need to just turn the billable clock. Your opinion and insights are not welcomed or appreciated - the opposite is reality. Manager disparages staff members behind closed doors & in meetings, discloses personal health info of others in the office, and then ices out staff who treat management as she treats them. Firm wants no overtime from billable non-attorney staff, but projects get handed off at end of day that require overtime to finish. Poor time management because billable goals and expectstions are unrealistic. Definitely not the welcoming environment that was advertised. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management got your back. Dallas Attorneys are very laid back and nice. Work Life Balance. Not alot of overtime. Very relaxed Firm. Not good on the training side, you have to really know what your doing. Your pretty much on your own. Once you get to know your desk, your fine.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I'm stress free. There is nothing else. I can say. I am stress free.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment very laid back, very nice people to work with. One of the best law firms, I've worked at, and I've worked at about 5 or 6 of them.

Come to Work, do your job go home on time. no fuss

Staff is really nice and helpful. Management is helpful and supportive as well as fun! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Workload, pressure from partners if you are in the trial team or team that garners the most cases

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Easy going, just get the work down. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get in, lots and lots of emails. Work through whatever deadlines are upcoming, organize and compile any documentation that needs to be addressed. As well, as work on trial orders and other tasks.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The firm has great health insurance benefits

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to work in the office instead of more days on a hybrid schedule. The firm only offers one hybrid day at home.

The attorneys you’re assigned to don’t respond to you so you need to constantly follow up with them which I find very stressful when they don’t do their part.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working on medical summaries all day everyday. Preparing disclosures and requesting medical records on your assigned cases.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff! Everyone is so nice and extremely professional. Management is the best I've ever worked for. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Crunch time when we are all trying to get the information in by the deadline. Software changes.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Amazing teamwork. Everyone is so easy to work with. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, but that makes the day go by faster.

First week-training, trying to help a team in getting caught up, they tell you that you’re doing a good job. 2nd week - they leave you alone to do your job with little supervision. You ask a few questions to get a job done correctly, so they toss a coin on who can help. 3rd week - I got it all nailed down, a little slow but learning the whole system, but management not happy because I wasn’t fast enough, so a co-worker ends up sitting on my chair and literally do my job while I sit behind her and get paid. Is this really worth anyone’s time?

Can be a productive place but the current administrator and her current assistant are very aggressive.  a typical work day consist of saving court emailed notification documents to the document management system and then summarization of same to the attorneys.  The workplace culture has no culture which leads individuals to not have great work ethics.
