One of the most refreshing aspects of Grand Living is the leadership team. Their passion for the industry is infectious, and their genuine care for employees is evident. They invest time in getting to know each person beyond their job title, fostering a sense of value and belonging. This translates into a supportive and collaborative work environment at the World Headquarters office for me specifically. Everyone, from seasoned veterans to the newest recruits, is friendly, fun, helpful, and united by a shared passion for creating positive experiences for our all those who come into contact with Grand Living.

The company culture thrives on a healthy mix of experience and fresh perspectives. Long-tenured employees provide invaluable knowledge and guidance, while new talent brings innovative ideas and energy. This dynamic mix keeps the company at the forefront of the industry, constantly evolving to meet the needs of the people we serve.

While the work is challenging and rewarding, Grand Living also understands the importance of work-life balance. Many times, I am able to work from home if needed, and work does not seep into personal time outside of business hours.  This commitment to employee well-being further contributes to the positive and engaged atmosphere.

Overall, Grand Living TRULY offers a truly unique work experience. The combination of engaging tasks, a collaborative and supportive environment, and passionate leadership makes it a great place to build a career.

If you’re desperate for a job and can’t stand your family member, this is the perfect place. Apply here, or drop your family member off. There was absolutely nothing good about working here. It didn’t matter which building you worked in or what position you had the problems were everywhere. I found residents crying because care staff refused to help them bathe. I also found residents lying on the floor with little to no sense of urgency from staff. The facility was constantly understaffed, and because so many employees hated their jobs, the negativity spread throughout the workplace.
Out of everyone I worked with, I can confidently say there was only one coworker I truly trusted. Everyone else seemed more interested in talking behind people’s backs or creating drama than working together. Trying to communicate with management felt like talking to a brick wall. My concerns were ignored while I worked there, yet as soon as I quit, suddenly my manager wanted to have a conversation. As for upper management, it didn’t feel like they cared about the employees or the residents. From my perspective, the focus seemed to be on renovating the buildings rather than addressing the serious staffing and care issues happening inside them. So don’t let the name Grand Living fool you. The only thing grand about this place is the amount of problems it has.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working here is the leadership team. Our Executive Director Dawn and management are incredibly supportive and responsive, which creates a positive work environment. I genuinely enjoy coming to work, and our residents are wonderful, it’s clear they’re happy and love living here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Like any job, there can be busy moments that feel stressful at times, but overall the environment is very manageable and well-supported.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is very positive, supportive, and team-oriented. Management is responsive and encourages open communication, which makes it easy to feel comfortable and valued. Overall, it’s a welcoming workplace where both staff and residents are treated with care and respect.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves assisting residents, managing front desk responsibilities, and ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout the shift. Each day can vary depending on needs, but the focus is always on providing excellent service and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Overall, I really enjoyed the job. I helped the Exec Chef take care of daily needs and helped cooks when they needed assistance. The team i worked with was the best part of the job. very skilled individuals and a great backbone kitchen set up. Everything that was needed was available plus some. Great hours as my schedule was 10:30-8:00. Higher up management was a much different experience than the daily needs of the building. However, regional was always too busy putting out other fires within the company to pay any real attention to any schemes middle management was up to. I noticed plenty of shady things that management would do but as soon as I tried to stop them, they pulled the rug from underneath me and fired me. some managers were changing time clocks to stay within their windows for their bonuses to go through. some wouldn't say anything about some issues but drop the hammer on some things. it was impossible to tell who was safe and who wasn't. most management played favorites and if you weren't on that list, you got all the real work. Overall, I don't think the luxury of the kitchen is worth the eggshell flooring.

My experience at Grand Living was extremely disheartening. The company presents itself with polished branding and promises of excellence — both to employees and residents — but behind the scenes, it’s a very different story.

Management is primarily focused on cutting costs, even at the expense of quality and employee well-being. They expect high performance from staff without offering fair compensation or meaningful support. There’s a significant gap between what leadership preaches and what they actually practice. Unfortunately, the company seems more concerned with appearances than substance.

The work environment is filled with gossip, favoritism, and unprofessional behavior — from senior leadership down. It’s a toxic atmosphere that can take a toll on even the most dedicated employees.

Grand Living claims to model itself after Ritz-Carlton standards, but fails to deliver on even basic principles of respect and authenticity. Many aspects of the culture feel performative and insincere.

Unless there are major changes in leadership and values, I wouldn’t recommend Grand Living to prospective employees.

Working as a CNA at Grand Living at Tamaya was a very rewarding experience. The work environment was welcoming, supportive, and focused on providing high-quality care to residents. I had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents and their families while assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal care. The management team was professional and approachable, always encouraging teamwork and open communication among staff members. My coworkers were compassionate, hardworking, and willing to help whenever needed, which made even busy shifts more manageable. Grand Living at Tamaya places a strong emphasis on resident dignity, comfort, and well-being, allowing caregivers to make a positive difference every day. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with the resources needed to provide excellent care. Overall, my experience as a CNA at Grand Living at Tamaya helped me grow professionally, strengthen my caregiving skills, and gain valuable experience in senior care.

Grand Living has Great looking buildings but the construction is poorly done and rushed.  In the culinary department,  there is a lot of cheap stuff used and it leaks and has issues regularly.   It seems the maintenance people didn't have a clue how to fix things or they just didn't bother.  If you're a regular employee, don't expect much in terms of salary and days off.  Seems like a lot of the funding for salary is only geared towards "Directors" and corporate.  If you're in culinary the job posting says "every other weekend off" .  Well that couldn't be farther from the truth, you're lucky to get them if you ask.  The directors all take weekends and holidays off and leave their cogs to do the work while they are all with family.  Pay is mediocre and isn't keeping up with the local demands, hard to keep staff.

On-site management and corporate seem to have a huge disconnect and don't follow the same standards.

They will give you overtime, unfortunately there’s weeks without lunch breaks.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Human Resources & the managers are all very close friends. They hang out outside of work. If one of the managers crosses the line with you don’t bother reporting it. HR will gaslight you & blame you. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic, it takes a minute to really understand what’s going on at this place. Once they see you are aware of how this place is run they’ll start messing with you to push you out the company. They don’t want anyone calling the health department or for anyone to report them to the state. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would come in, keep myself, do my job, sneak off for long bathroom breaks to get the chance to apply at other jobs. The gossip, jealousy, hate, fake kindness to hide how they really are, the affairs coworkers have, all the drama will eventually begin to bring you down.

Grand Living is a great company to work for. I loved it there, the staffing situation is really the only problem they have. Staff don’t seem to stay like they use to and it’s unorganized. While most staff had no issues coming in to cover shifts because they wanted hours some staff had to work alone and therefore weren’t able to provide proper resident care. On top of that some staff talk about others quite a lot and are extremely disrespectful and rude to not only coworkers but management as well or they no call no show but are still allowed to come back to work. All in all, it is a great place but they need to get a handle on staffing before more people leave.

Grand Living was an average place to work overall. The environment had potential, but it was often overshadowed by a lot of internal gossip and a lack of clear communication between departments. While some team members were friendly and supportive, the workplace culture could sometimes feel divided, making collaboration more difficult than necessary. Management often seemed unaware or unresponsive to issues that impacted daily operations. Interdepartmental miscommunication led to repeated mistakes and frustration. The company does offer some decent benefits and a comfortable setting, but it struggles with consistency and professionalism. With stronger leadership and communication, it could improve significantly.
