#1 priority :Hours billed. You will be harassed about how many hours you billed that day constantly but required to do services that take up much of your time and are not billable services. Huge case loads, 275+ Patients on each nurses caseload while required to be a clinic nurse as well. Poorly staffed, will not provide replacements or relief for those who have quit or are out for long periods. Not uncommon to not have relief for 5-10 months. You will take over those duties without training in their position and are told to “wing it”
Expect to be constantly overbooked on appointments. Steady stream of emails and other duties including case management you are expected to complete in the timeframe of someone missing their appointment. 
Concerns fall on deaf ears. Inadequate supplies, difficulty obtaining supplies needed. Pharmacy’s abilities are spotty at best.
Small company that acts like a large corporation with large turn over rate and disregard their employees. 
You are salaried for a reason. Weird benefits. PTO is split between 1 & 2, pto 2 is essentially unusable. 
Administration is 100% incompetent and under qualified for their positions, most of who acquired those positions because they are friends/family with higher ups. 
Therapy and medical are pitted against each other in a power struggle instead of working together. It’s a weird dynamic. 
PAs & psychiatrists are amazing. Worked with some of the nicest, knowledgeable providers who are keen on education. 
Your medical team in your county will treat you like family. You are in the bunker together. 

The work that GRAND Mental Health provides is meaningful, important, and integrated. Most people that I've worked with who provide clinical care do so with passion, care, and purpose and genuinely care. Local administration is supportive and advocate for clinical teams' needs. However, the communication from the top executive leadership is awful, and new procedures and expectations are rolled out before there is a well established plan. I have also observed a lack of transparency from upper leadership that makes me question motives of those leading the agency. Clinical staff has not received a raise in the last 3 years while some members of the executive team have had salary increases of $800,000 in that time. I have enjoyed my time with Grand, but am saddened to see that clinical staff and CSS staff are not being valued or compensated fairly and that clinical teams are overburdened with large caseloads and endless job duties. 

I love working at Grand Lake, however, I have found myself being stressed due to the level of trauma that some of my families face on a daily and that is hard for me due to me having a tender heart and sometimes, the events taking place in the families lives trigger a few of my own life experiences that are painful such as losing by son to childhood cancer and being abused myself as well as family members that I love dearly.  My heart is to help people and do all that I can to assist and encourage them, I didn't know the level of heartache that I would face on a daily when accepting this job, I wish I could set aside the pain and not bring it home, but it has been hard for me. I've lived a life that has been filled with pain, but continue to do all I can to keep positive and convincing others that life can be good and will get better has been the hardest part, when I believe it can, it's hard to get them to believe it can. I love all of my co-workers and I have a wonderful boss who has been very supportive through everything and leaving Grand Lake will be hard, I wish I could bottle up my emotions and not take the pain and stress of these families home with me, but I haven't found a way yet.

The only enjoyable part of this position is the clients you serve. Workplace culture within the program is good between co-workers but not between management. No office to work out of, minute to minute documentation, hauling your office in a back pack all over  Oklahoma is not an environment that is conducive to a supportive work environment. You will want to love this position but as soon as you really learn the job you will quickly realize you have made a huge mistake. It becomes about the numbers not about the clients. Trying to figure out your employment with HR is a waste of time. Once you are in this program it’s hard to get out. The turn over is extremely high and demanding.  The one thing about this position that this person will miss are the clients and co-workers . This agency needs to really look into IPS to fix the issues so that clients don’t have go through therapists , CC and RSS all of the time as well Employment Specialists. It takes a long time to build a relationship with people and for them to trust you. Grand needs to really investigate their turnover issue . There are in fact reasons for it but they are reasons that could be fixed by listening and really really committing to fixing it agency wide . Grand can be Grand  when it really focuses.

GLMHC has been very good to me.  I worked for this company for 8 years a long time ago, back when agency-wide we were hovering around 200 employees...and now we're all over the state, pretty much, with 1000+ employees.  I have worked for them this time for almost 3 years and, yes, while some things are ever-changing and can be frustrating, I feel that the desire of the company is that they genuinely care about their employees' work/life balance and they truly care about the population we serve.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to work here.  Nothing is ever perfect, and I'm definitely not perfect, but I feel empowered by what I do and I am embedded in OKU middle and high schools and have developed meaningful working relationships with those staff members at those campuses.  The school system is GLAD we are on-site to help the kiddos who are struggling.  I am just overall very pleased and feel blessed to get the chance to help positively influence lives through my work with GLMHC.

I would not recommend that anyone work with Grand Lake. The salary is great but it is not worth the amount of stress experienced with this company. The company is very money focused and requires 6 hours of billing per day which is punishable by coachings, unpaid administrative leave, and firing (even though they say they do not fire over productivity).  This company does not value it's employees and often relocates them without their consent to different office locations/departments and it's either move, quit, or be fired. They say that it is an 8:00-5:00 job, but that is not true as there is often work that must be taken home or completed after hours as well as seeing clients after hours due to productivity requirements. Due to the productivity requirements, there is very little time for consultation between staff members and this often creates a dog eat dog type mentality, where staff feel competitive with one another.  There was not one single week that I felt secure in my job. This job is highly stressful and toxic to it's employees.

This place has great pay and great benefits. However, there are a lot of things that need to be improved upon. The comments about this company caring more about the money being made than the clients being served: that is absolutely true. This company also tries to figure out ways to get clients to come there from other agencies so they can have some of "that medicaid money." This place also has some of the worst training I've ever been through. 

The management also has their favorite workers, and it's usually the ones that try to get their co-workers in trouble for telling about everything. Suck-ups is what they're usually called. Management is also very indecisive, telling staff to do something, then admonishing them later for doing it. Management also drains all the morale out of staff, and they are bullying in a way.

Now, I am talking about one certain director. There are good directors there, but there is one that is absolutely the worst. This one should not be in charge of managing people. If you decide to work there, good luck.

First off,  let me say this: the pay is good and you have off every other Friday. However, they threaten to take away your Friday day off constantly for a variety of reasons. Upper management is completely disconnected from the actual boots on the ground. Workplace culture is toxic. It was interesting to see the friction between management and staff in staff meetings. Upper management is constantly changing policy, day to day, week to week. It is impossible to know what is going on. There is more emphasis on clerical work than the actual satisfaction of clients. I worked there and would not recomment services to anyone wanting quality mental health care. THEY DO NOT GIVE RAISES. I did not think to ask this question in my initial interview as I assumed that they would give a cost of living raise. They do not give raises. Furthermore, the agency will place you in whatever city with whatever population they see fit. If you decline, they will fire you. Their insurance is expensive as well. 

A typical day I would see clients for  scheduled appointments and assist them in activities of daily living, teach coping skills and life skills, assist in creating and reaching wellness goals, take clients to appointments.
I’ve learned so much in this company, we are constantly doing training on things such as med education, disability application assistance, safety training, wellness, housing assistance, resource programs. I could not ask for a better team. The staff are incredible and hard working and truly care about the clients. The clients are just as amazing. The hardest part of the job is getting overwhelmed by crisis situations, time management and billing. The most enjoyable part of the job is having the ability to help people in need and building a relationship with them and having support at all times from the company and co workers. 

This place is ridiculous, there are policy changes that happen and we aren't informed of them until a week to a month later. The policy sent down the pipeline is written by suits who haven't worked a day in the office or on the floor of the units it at least 5 years, and the management who is supposed to represent us refuses to hear our complaints, feed back, or ideas. They also do nothing to advocate for us as their employees. There is PTO II which will you never use as you have to use 3 days of PTO I consecutively to even have it considered for use and even then they can deny your use of it. They preach their mission statement about advocating for clients, but they turn around and chastise us when we attempt to advocate for them or disagree with a command on ethical lines, they show us through their actions that their true mission is to cut as large of a check as possible each month, ethical and moral qualms be damned.
