They'll promise you great things on your first day of orientation...Company picnics, free lunches, reasonably good PTO. Somewhat flexible scheduling. But don't be fooled by this facade. Upper management is completely tearing what once was a good company apart. 

I started here as an order entry technician and soon began to get on good terms with my direct supervisor. I enjoyed what I did. The work was easy and rewarding. And I liked my coworkers. Unfortunately, issues with housing led me to have to make a difficult decision-leave the company or try applying for a different position.

I ended up applying withing the company and earning a promotion to Inventory/Purchaser. Seemed like a nice gig, company provided laptop, the opportunity to work from home, higher pay, etc. They were super willing to help me out in my time of need. And I appreciated it at the time.

Here's where it all went wrong:

I got roughly 3-4 weeks of incredibly POOR and UNORGANIZED training for this new position. Compared to the 1-2 MONTHS I got in Order Entry, that's despicable. 

Every time I asked for additional training or help, I was blatantly ignored or given a basic and dismissive answer. In addition to that, other employees in supervisory and management roles were condescending and aggressive in emails to me for absolutely no reason at all. I never once was forceful or aggressive towards them. I didn't deserve how I was treated.

I have never felt so undervalued, misled, and mistreated by a company in my life. I ended up being let go a few months after being here-apparently for performance issues. Bear in mind that I moved AWAY from all of my immediate family and friends for this job across the country. I was motivated and ready to impress my new boss.

They fired the new Operations Manager and Regional Director for Denver within a month of them being brought on for seemingly no reason. These individuals were incredibly motivated to succeed, always at work on time and staying late to make sure deliveries got out on time. Just like I was. The original pharmacy manager that was in place when I came in stepped down not too long afterwards, claiming he just wasn't up for the responsibility. Theres been no replacement hired for him since this happened in January. 

Fill technicians are in and out the door so fast I barely knew anyone working in the back. 

There's some disgusting corruption and malice breeding in the ranks of the wealthy, elite upper management at Grane. You're a number on their payroll and all it takes is for them to cut you off like a cancerous tumor if they get tired of good employees asking for legitimate help.

I hope you ALL don't waste your time applying to ANY jobs they offer. Find something else. 

GraneRx: The Company that Sets you Up for Failure.







GraneRx has been a wonderful place to work! Despite being a licensed registered nurse, I had to step away from the nursing profession to find something that would provide the flexibility I needed for my daughter's appointment schedule. During the interview process, I was incredibly transparent with them about my needs for my schedule and they have continued to work easily with me to accommodate this. Because of my managers willingness to be flexible and understanding, I have never had to deal with the burden of stress that can come from some jobs. 

I work from home from 12:30pm to 9pm Monday through Friday. When I was first hired, I worked remotely for the Denver portion of the company and have recently transitioned into the Pittsburgh portion (still remote). The training process was a bit overwhelming, as I tend to be a Type-A perfectionist and the program was a bit more relaxed. While I am still being trained on new things, their training process has changed and they have begun implanting an entirely new onboarding process! Many people throughout the company have expressed their excitement towards it and are happy with its results already. Being a remote worker can be challenging at times for a variety of reasons. It can feel difficult to establish relationships with coworkers, get questions answered efficiently, or achieve successful communication. However, the more you attempt to communicate – through email or phone – the better. Communication has definitely improved in my months of working at GraneRx. 

Because I work from home, I cannot provide information on what the workplace environment is like or the energy people bring. However, I can say that every person I have encountered through a phone call has been pleasant and MORE than willing to help – this includes other order entry technicians, pharmacists, and management. 

The benefit packages offered are great, and GraneRx puts money towards your biweekly benefit cost. This is a HUGE added bonus! Their pay rates are decent, but not competitive. The amount of flexibility and great work-life balance offered makes up for the pay rates. 

Overall, I have been thoroughly enjoying my time with GraneRx and am anxious to see how I can further my career with them :) 


I left retail pharmacy because I wanted a position that valued providing excellent healthcare to its patients. Grane is a supportive and progressive pharmacy that values its customers and the team that provides their medications. I work specifically on the PACE team, which aims to keep the elderly and compromised population safe in their homes and facilities. The care we provide is real time, on time, and around the clock, so that our patients feel heard and their needs are met. As a pharmacist, we are continuously asked to provide feedback on how our processes can be improved. Finally, a company that listens to its employees and takes their ideas to fruition! In retail, the implementation of our job was defeating, and all about the numbers with no ability to feel like you succeeded. In my job now, I know i'm making a true difference in compliance and patient outcomes. My team consists of many pharmacists, who always have another peer nearby to bounce ideas, problems, and form solutions with. This is the ideal workplace for a pharmacist. Like we always say, team work makes the dream work!

I loved working at the West Chester branch! Of my almost 2 years working there, I got along with everyone, they were very supportive of me and helpful, and everyone worked very hard. If it wasn't for the sheer and utter disrespect that corporate had shown me, I wouldn't have left. They [corporate] tend to think everything is "their way or the highway", they are entirely money driven and have no regard for their employees, and if you have an opinion, they "don't want to hear it" (actual quote). Corporate hired me making $.20 more than my previous job, and gave me no raise whatsoever in my time there. I have worked in pharmacy (specifically LTC) for nearly a decade and this has been the single most chaotic and backward company I've worked for. Overall a very unprofessional company and I would not recommend working here if you don't want to have mental breakdowns every day.

You're co-workers (for the most part) are pretty much the only good thing about this place. The machines they have are ran way more then they are intended to run (the med bag output on some weekends is higher then what the machine manufacturer considers high output for an entire month). The place is understaffed often (and pretty much always understaffed on nights it seems). The entire place lacks professionalism majorly both in employees and management. The one manager will call you on your time like you're on call but you are not employed as on call so there's no compensation for the trivial things that manager calls you at home about. Literally the only decent (and i mean decent because some of them are very two faced) thing about this place is the co-workers. The benefits are garbage the pay is not up to par for how bad that place is and is part of why it's so bad and management is pretty bad all around. To only managers that are any good are the PSL's and that's only some of them. The place doesn't run in the manor that a pharmacy should either.

I worked over a year here while I was doing my undergrad at WCU. I had no prior pharmacy experience but the training I received was thorough and easy to understand. The managers are understanding and flexible with scheduling. The pharmacists are very helpful and fun to work with. The pharmacists and managers value your hard work and constantly show that they do. It's different from retail.. so there is no customer interaction which is great and less hectic. It looked great on my resume since I was interested in healthcare. I learned a lot about how a long term care pharmacy works and how to use different systems like Beacon. There's many opportunities to grow within your position and learn things like making different compounds. I actually looked forward to going into work when I worked at Grane which may sound crazy but it's true since everyone you work with makes work enjoyable! Coworkers become friends/family



My time at Grane started off enjoyable, but I quickly began to notice major issues within management. Leadership turnover was constant, and with no clear direction, company morale declined rapidly. There were no consistent rules or structure — employees often did whatever they wanted. Although Grane has local management, all final decisions are made by their headquarters in Pittsburgh, which limits any real control or growth at the branch level.

Current management is extremely biased; unless you’re personally close with them, there’s little to no opportunity for advancement. Job security is nonexistent. The company has also lost its largest client, along with others, leading to slower workdays and uncertainty about the future.

If you’re looking for a place to grow and develop professionally, I strongly recommend choosing a different company.

The environment is awful. New employees are thrown to the wolves. Training takes a year minimum. Favoritism is shown amongst manager and a few employees. Schedule is all over the place. Cannot take ANY time off the first week of any month, even family vacations are denied- and have to know the day you need off at least 6 weeks in advanced (which can only be hopefully approved) Truly ZERO work/life balance whether you have a family/kids or not. The way they choose which holiday you work is by literally picking names out of a hat- which is not in front of anyone else- the manager and her pet do it in her office with the door shut. One hour lunches, but can’t leave because you need to punch in after 30 minutes and then sit around for the next 30. Oh, and when you leave.. they take 40% of your earned PTO that was already held hostage in the first place. 100% do not recommend. 

Team members and management work together to achieve quality and customer satisfaction.  Team members are encouraged to share ideas and concerns with management.  Many team member suggestions are implemented in job processes.  While many tasks are performed individually there is always a strong sense of teamwork.  You are never alone.  Someone is always willing and ready to help out or answer questions.  It is not a competitive environment but one where everyone works together to elevate the entire team to better meet our customers' needs.    

Working at Grane was a great learning experience. I was hired with no pharmacy experience and I was nervous because I thought I would never be able to move at the pace required but everyone that works there is so understanding and the trainers did an awesome job training me that I was able to pick up extra hours my first week of working. I My favorite part about working here were my coworkers, they made coming into work every day something I looked forward, management is super understanding and this is something I appreciated especially as a college student, and of course Pharmacy Technician on your resume looks amazing, I still get calls from companies wanting me to work as a tech for them.
