Working at this company gives you the opportunity to understand the systems in the state. It enables you to better serve as you are well equipped by the trainings offered.

Going to the houses where the doors are not open to see the children.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s a cooperative one that embraces team work and collaboration.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Getting up early to visit homes and come back to write down notes. If there’s a court involved case you prepare and attend and testify.

The flexibility was the best part of working at this company. 



What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The consistency of program changes. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and culture is fair. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When working at this company my typical day consist of documenting my notes, faxing providers to obtain medical records, completing paperwork, calling new clients and going on scheduled or unscheduled visits.

Senior Management does not care or show that they value the staff as a whole. It's a shame because the organization does great work. But basically you will work like a slave and not be appreciated or valued. Particularly working downstairs. You will be everything to everyone but they will not value your safety and the hard work and dedication.

I was a case manager at United Communities. The job started off ok but the manager of the FES South Philly team became annoying. She likes to micromanage and focus on your work while she can't even complete her own work. Besides the horrible manger the job wasn't too bad but there are a few things the company needs to fix. For instance, there are NO RAISES. The only way you can get a raise is if you get a promotion. The company pick and chooses who they want to promote from the time you start.

United Communities is an okay company to work for. This company is especially good for recent graduates who are looking to gain experience in the field of social work/child welfare. Caseloads typically consists of 15-20 families. Job duties include home visits and school visits twice per week, maintaining  case files, case notes etc. Pay is okay for recent graduates. There is slight room for advancement in company. High turnover rate.

Run away from them fast. They aren’t professionals(my opinion).

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Leadership isn’t responsible nor responsive to staff needs

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostel, unsafe, and they don’t care about the staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and leadership tells staff personnel business.

Prepare for them to drag their feet, and hope that you don’t hold them accountable when it comes to getting reimbursed. The director and supervisor are also horrible and should not be in management. The supervisor is passive aggressive, all over the place, and doesn’t know how to guide people. The director had a huge ego and basically coddles the supervisor. Please continue your search, there’s no growth here. 

The workplace is disorganized, which often leads to confusion, inefficiency, and added stress. Workloads are consistently heavy, and the pace makes burnout a real concern. Communication from leadership is inconsistent, and there’s a lack of clear structure or direction to help employees succeed. While some coworkers are supportive, the overall environment makes it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The work itself is high level . This company work is nothing different from working as a CUA worker!!! This is prevention yet the needs of the family will burn you out. Then on top of that upper management is so aggressive where you will choose your mental health over that high level stress position!!!

Responsible management. Clear expectations. They were willing to meet me where I was at. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication, or miscommunication, between supervisors and staff, as well as co-workers. Some workers are very rigid about how they do their jobs, but that's anywhere you go.
