Guardian Hospice

I worked for Guardian Hospice for a little over a year out of the Hudson office. Biggest problem I had with the company was I was employed for the Hudson area but they were giving me clients in St. Croix Falls, Grantsburg, Fredrick, Amery because they didn't have an office in that area but were still willing to take clients from that area and regardless of the weather visits still needed to be completed and I was forced to drive in pretty unsafe conditions.

I worked there for a year, And would have never left had it not been for my move to Texas. Loved everything about the people I worked with. They train you They help you to become better at what you do, and they genuinely care about the staff. 

A typical day at work is medium paced. I learned what it takes to have a well functioning disciplinary hospice team. Management communicates great. Co-workers communicates great. Dealing with all the deaths is the hardest part of my job. The most enjoyable part of my part is interacting with our aging adults.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I would have to say it’s a split decision: 
The patients and the Guardian hospice family. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Hoping I provided the best care possible for my patients 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Like family.  Everyone respected and helped each other when needed. Worked with a great team.

Horrible leadership. Just because you own it doesn’t mean you know how to lead. You could never take pto or you would get in trouble. They don’t like to pay for what you do. You work hard and will work yourself to death for little pay, rude leadership, and always getting in trouble. They pick who’s problems are more important and get upset. 

I traveled in and out of clients home preforming different tasks. Vitals and paperwork was the beginning and following there plan of care was next. Providing confidentiality and remaining respectful were the main source of positive communication plus joking to keep the client happy. After following the plan of care i would do housework to make it less stressful if it was requested.

Thoroughly enjoyed the management team and my coworkers at Guardian Hospice. It was the first time I worked for a company that truly cared about their employees. They spent a great deal of their own time and resources to ensure employee stability and satisfaction. 

Every state has a different employer , i worked for Guaridan in Franklin TN and i am very fortunate to worked with them . i enjoyed my company , job will go smooth because we have a Good Co workers and management , so i did’nt have a problem to deal. It was really a wonderful experienced,  i enjoyed my journey with them for  2 years. 

Benefits not good. Values and Culture lacking- Home Health was more appreciated. No room to advance. "At-Will" employee, I could leave any time and they could let me go any time. Poor management from the top down. Work/Life was manageable.

This company is a small homegrown company that is very concerned with people.

They try their best to help families and patients.  They are educators. They are not pushy. They care about their employees.

Overall, it’s a great experience working with them!
