Hi my typical day at work first thing i do is to greet everybody kitchen staff,customers,doctors, patients,employees from other departments friendly hellos and smiles; 10 foot rule; leave negative thoughts and problems behind; just thinking of work to have good day, just let go of worries and negative attitude; "having positive attitude can make a big difference it can help stressful days at work; if i need help or have any job complaints or issues i go directly to manager or supervisor on duty; instead of telling/spread to everyone. 
I have learned variety of job duties; the everyday challenges at work like lack of co-workers, multi tasking at work from one thing to another; i make few mistakes sometimes i like to keep learning and learn new things.
Management at work is alright. There is one manager and are three supervisors. Sometimes there a few changes try change new things to make good progress at work to help us like new food varieties we cook and serve for patients and customers in cafeteria. Each of them have different ways of running the show or handling the work. I don't mind as long as the job gets done.
Co-workers each one of us have different attitude some are friendly, can get along with the flow; and some are not always negative who complains mostly everyday even minor mistakes." too much work, the certain product is not the tray line sheets list." Some are team player and some are not. Some are nosy and lazy.
Hardest part of the job when we get trained new job positions not trained properly, if too many trainers to do certain job, different ways of doing it; which one to do right way or easy way. Some make it more difficult. And when we are assigned the job alone on your own well seem confusing.
Enjoyable part of job i can say met various type of people my co-workers, customer friendly,attending patients delivering there meals in their rooms,cook and serve food :). Everyday is new challenge, working with everybody is good experience.

The unit teamwork and environment is very welcoming and accommodating (i.e. fellow nurses, PCTs, secretaries). The biggest pros are that the hospital is not very big, and it feels more tight-knit. There is a sense of community and many people who used to work in the hospital or where born here now come in as patients or visitors. The management, however feels very imposing. There are constant quotas and numbers they want met but sometimes the resources, support, or current practices work against staff to achieve these measures. Workloads are often heavy, high nurse to patient ratios, and often a huge push to discharge patients fast in order to get more patient in. Floating is practiced and is frustrating. Many responsibilities of ancillary staff have recently been redistributed to nursing, and it is overwhelming at times. In addition there are certain hospital nursing policies and protocol that seem to clash with providers and physicians, which creates stress and animosity due to nursing protocol preventing nurses from carrying out physician orders. A lack of communication between disciplines and increased expectation without support from management are the biggest cons.

Citrus memorial hospital presented a unique challenge. Prior to my arrival and continuing during my time there, multiple entities were suing each other and politics was all pervasive.
In this environment and working closely with the CNO, my daily overriding task was to insure quality healthcare delivery to our patients, provide the means for our medical staff to do their jog as efficiently as possible and maintain standards.
I attended a multitude of meetings on a daily basis as well as directly managing the hospital's owned practices and the Quality department.
I thought that going in that my dedication and hard work would be able to overcome many of the challenges present, but learned that this approach did not always succeed.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the overlap of political agendas on the part of many key players and the failure to move matters along while a sale of the hospital was being negotiated and completed. The attitude of " let the new owner deal with it" was very frustrating.
I enjoyed the successes such as reform of Peer Review, affecting the cultural climate and the individuals- patients, hospital employees and medical staff that I helped.
While my tenure at Citrus was difficult, I learned and have grown from the experience.

Worst place I have ever seen. Short staff, a bunch of liars laziest nurse I have ever seen. Management is so bad they should be walked out of the building. No team work unless they have I in team. All the nurses are on their private cell phone barking orders out to the 1 maybe 2 techs while they check Facebook. Unless your a cheerleader you don't belong in the IN CROWD. Management will come in and ask how my stay was but don't ever ask them for anything because they will find the overworked tech to do it so they can ask how my roommates stay is and they better not ask for anything as well cause they won't help you. I had stayed there for two months and witness all of this. I feel bad for the techs the nurses need to have a wake up call and do their job that's what they are getting paid to do. Conversations that the nurses carry on about getting drunk or their divorce, nobody that is sick and your taking care of them should never have to hear. Complaining about how they are enstrange from their mother makes me look at you differently and how your going to treat me as a patient. I do not recommend this place to anybody in their right mind. A reject hospital at its very best.

You could easily expect to know what you were doing on any given day, and plan your work out accordingly with flexibility for missing some things.

I received paid training on the job with zero starting experience and learned from experts who had all the equipment they needed to do their jobs swiftly and with great results.

I never had any issues with anyone in my department, and only very rarely had to deal with a stuck up doctor or a nurse on a power trip trying to control my work flow.

Really it was generally a blast minus the adjustment period of having to manage so much work in just one shift.

a typical day at work could go from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. as patient volumes increased, so did the urgency, stress level, and job duties in general. I learned to handle stress very well, and always kept composed and calm in order to assist my employees when needed. Management was not without its faults, but for the most part they did the best they could with the resources that were available.
I enjoyed working with each and everyone of my employees and all of the co-workers from other departments that I interacted with daily.
The hardest part of the job was making sure that the employees had all of the resources that were necessary to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities. I was always able to see that they had what they needed.
The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that we were doing the best job possible to serve the patients and assist with making their visit as pleasant as it could be.

Hated this job! The pay is fine and benefits are good. But the amount of tasks they put on the PCT’s is insane. Not worth the stress! The computer system for the charting is a joke and kicks you off daily! You are left to handle IT yourself and get it fixed so you can chart your hourly work! You will be on hold for up to 45 mins to get an IT person to maybe fix the problem. Then have lights going off while doing so! Who can sit on the phone for that long and be on a unit by yourself?! NTU receptionist’s are the rudest people on the planet I don’t know that I have ever seen more demeaning behavior. The way they treat some of the staff was super uncomfortable to watch.  Dr’s screaming at nurse’s at nurses station as well?! Completely unprofessional.  If you like super HIGH stress job and no help then work in this nut house. 

Personel were fired as a regular intimidation factor by fascist department head.Ex miletary.i was there over 2 years witnessed over 30 tech fired and each one was challenged for unemployement insurance including providing false info to department of labor..
physical layout of department was huge an well designed..Previous ICU Department..Had one good year before chief tech was fired,all 6 nurses were fired in one week.students were used and eventually i was fired,my coworkers were fired and student given supervisor job directly out of school..Local Reputation as worst hosp in area

There is a huge staff to patient ratio inbalance which makes it difficult to achieve personal goals and impeds job satisfaction.  I found the focus to be task oriented and it was difficult to get to know my patients when the daily assignement was changed from one day to the next.  The co-workers were stressed and management was driven  by census numbers. The hardest part of my job was trying to spend enough time with my patients and not appear to be so busy that I was rushing off.  The most enjoyable part of my job was when I admitted/discharged  a patient or  performed a procedure  at which time I could actually talk to my patient and teach them as well as answer their questions.
