typical day for a CNA will be greeting your patient in the morning but lately it had been very stressful,you have 2 or 3 call lights going off at the same time the nurses from nights would not even want to take it. They expect you to go get it while you run around the unit for your morning shift, some nurses will call you for filling up a patient's water bottle even if they are in the room and can do it themselves, the management will wonder why you are not performing your best when in reality they give a high acuity hallway or more than you can handle number of people. We are talking about bedrest patient or require 2 assistance but you do by yourself because your RN simply does not have the time to help you, they emphasize on safety  but expects you to do everything on your own. The contract says you work 3 days but if you don't pick up even one overtime they will make you feel like an outcast, they are always short on aides because no one wants to be around them anymore, the patient and family thinks it's a hotel lol sure it looks pretty but at the expense of their staff, i saw how nurses and aides cry because the workload is too hard and nobody seems to do something about it.Teamwork is not there anymore, it is more like this "that is not my patient", in short don't bother me with some else IV beeping. If something gets done wrong aides are the first one to go, they will throw you under the bus to that they can say that they did something to resolve the issue.

Probably one of the worst positions I have ever had the displeasure of holding. Responsibility is high while compensation is low. Benefits are also subpar with a PTO accrual  rate that is very low and is supposed to cover holidays, sick time, as well as vacation time.  

Company purposely posts vague job descriptions so the compensation at the time seems fair, until you actually start your position and realize how much responsibility you actually carry.  

Favoritism is rampant with team leads and managers siding with best friends and even family members. You will not be treated  fair and you better hope you are on the right side of the clique . Besides the favoritism micro-management is very high with simple tasks taking far too long to complete due  to the way they have to be completed. 

The only pro to working here is the paycheck , otherwise get health care experience and move on. Trust me you are just another warm body to this company.

It is a very hard place to work. The expectations are through the roof. I have scrubbed for 26 years and that was the worst experience I have ever had. They make you feel stupid if you make a small mistake. The staff are a bunch of backstabbers. The management makes fun of you behind your back and in front of other staff, they also play favorites. Their organization of instrument sets is beyond mind boggling. They are breaking the law by demanding that if you take a short lunch or no lunch at all you have to write it in the book as if you had taken a full lunch. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere. I have spent many years doing all services and have a good reputation as a scrub, but these people will tear you down to the very core and treat newcomers like poo. I personally know that there are 3 people working there that say that they went home crying every day for the space of 3 months each. The rest of the people that start there after I did, quit within the first 4 months of being there. They have the worst turnover rates and there is good reason for it.

A typical day at work would include me helping in whatever aspect I can. I completed many tasks including, filling prescriptions for the pharmacist to approve, pulling different medications in order to stock the supplies on all floors of the hospital, preparing crash kits, running different medications to different areas of the hospital, and packaging many different medications. I learned what a variety of different medications are used for, as well as a lot of medical vocabulary. I learned how impactful one aspect of a huge hospital can impact many people. I also learned many customer service tactics when talking to any and all patients that I encounter. I enjoyed the work environment including the management and my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was coming in not knowing much about what goes on in a pharmacy, but the staff was very supportive and helped me find my place. The most enjoyable part of the job for me was walking in everyday knowing that I was going to learn something new and make an impact on someones' day.

One of the lowest paying for nursing careers in Denver metro area but Mgmt states they are somewhere in the middle range. Rarely get lunches or breaks until 3-5 pm when coming on at  0700. Always understaffed.... worked here for 20 yrs and nothing ever changed but mgmt always reported they were " working on it". The bottom line was the # of stickers at the end of your shift without respect  to acuity. Very few nurses have a team oriented mind set and I found this hospital to be " clickish". As far as patient care that has gone by the wayside as evidenced by all the new policies and the consequences should you fail in even a small part. The review specialists send nasty grams frequently. And these nurses have less than 5 yrs experience. I recommend not working at this facility

mostly close knit team players but frequently understaffed.
frequently work 12 hr shifts with inability to take a lunch until 10 hrs or more into your shift. management now purely focused on charting and the dollar, finding more and more items to chart for joint commission. They use Meditech and refuse to consider Epic. New RN's don't last and don't even make to the end of their contract. We had a very supportive manager and director but their hands are tied when it comes to working with senior management. There are a few clicks, mostly related to your age group. New hires get big bonuses but long time employees do not get monetary recognition.

As a current employee, I see a lot of inconsistencies. There is favoritism shown to employees by management, processes and procedures are not done the same by all employees, there is a lack of discipline for violations, to name a few. You never know what hours you are going to work as there is a lot of low volume, yet some employees get overtime consistently ( = favoritism. ) I would not want anyone in my family to be a patient here as patient safety does not seem to be a priority. Working here is like stepping back in time in terms of technology and equipment used. Currently seeking employment elsewhere as it is important for me to be proud of where I work and not have my integrity compromised.

Their housekeeping management was terrible. I feel they failed at getting me the two most basic things you give a new employee, a schedule and a simple explanation for the tasks they will be doing. It took them three or four days to give me a schedule. I was showed how to use a UV light my first day but wasn't given a simple tour of the areas I would be cleaning until literally the fourth day. I was given tasks like cleaning the residents lounge and disposing the trash but they gave me no key. I asked for one, received one only for it to not work until a whole two days later. I was given heavy sighs and rude looks for literally wanting to simply to my job. I hope they have replaced their management team. Only person that was helpful was Estelle and other housekeepers.

SkyRidge main Pre-Op offers a flexible work schedule with minimal call requirements. 
The management in this department is much different than I am used to. Management takes a back seat and lets the unit run itself. The staff works well together.
The most difficult part of the job for me is that HCA only uses Meditech and will never switch over to another system. I came from Epic and I feel as though Meditech slows down the flow and leaves room for errors due to lack of communication within the system. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with great patients who appreciate all that you do for them.

I was one of some 300 Volunteers serving the Medical Center's needs for non-budget positions. My role was in the Women's Hospital Labor & Delivery Department.
I interfaced with peer Volunteers on a daily  basis as well as doctors and nurses staffing that and two other departments. I found my role to be challenging, rewarding and generally very satisfying.
 The Volunteer Team are very respected and appreciated by the Medical and Staff Professionals and are frequently and recognized rewarded for their contributions
