When we opened, we were well organized, energetic, client focused, with a friendly environment.
Once Serenity was sold to Delphi in Florida, what a quick changing mess!
I was very concerned for client safety as they now could arrive “when ready, just get them to the door.” Hot mess. There could 3-5 clients awaiting admission with one Admission Nurse....ME
One client could be psychotic, alcohol level of 439, and another who OD in the parking lot.
For me, this was not safe practice. Yes, I voiced my concerns which labeled me “trouble”.
Once we obtained all the proper Massachusetts Requirements, Delphi, Florida changed every approved protocol, and at that point I refused to enter their protocols without proper on sight training and reassurance we were practicing within the laws of MA.
Needless to say I was placed on suspension, was not allowed to review numerous False statements toward my nursing practice (I have been a respected RN for 36 yrs!), my integrity and my loyalty in the field of Nursing.
I feel working there is risking your license, your moral values and sense of self.

Recovery by the sea used to have a family like atmosphere. Even though the clientele was wild the staff came together as a family and the energy was amazing. At some point they thought it was a good idea to let a BD be the “boss” which led to chaos and disaster. I used to love walking into the facility and everyone had a spark they brought to the light of recovery. Then it switched. Caseloads were too high, expectations of documentation were unrealistic, favoritism and lack of respect, working 60+ hours a week and be expected to constantly do more and more for less and less. The cake topper was when the facility did a mass discharge of over 40 clients from out of state with no money and no real time clean yet. There’s no real treatment here minus 2 therapists and the medical team. Most of the staff has left requiring mental health treatment of some kind. Do yourself a favor and work anywhere but here. 

This is by far the worst establishment to work for. The owner has her hands in it all! If you have your doubts, just ask the staff working there how long they have been there. Everyone quits because it’s a terrible place to work for. The program is so disorganized. They start new programs without proper organization. They just want the groups to be ran. Staff is being burned out. When you are hired, no one informs you that you must be available 24/7 through WhatsApp. If you do not answer immediately you will upset the owner. This place is unethical, unprofessional, inappropriate boundaries and a shady place to work. Toxic environment for both staff and clients. I would not recommend any professional to put their license on the line.

I did not leave the job, I left the medical director/manager.  
Was hired for a particular schedule, then forced to work another, "spoken too" when trying to take a lunch break on a 12 hour shift,  breaks were discouraged. 
Unable to take time off without harassment, even with months in advance notice.  No support from MD,  creating an unsafe medical work situation. 
Direct supervisor moody, unstable, unpredictable and allowed to treat staff poorly creating a hostile work environment.  Worse manager, ever. 
The other staff, techs and nurses were wonderful to work with.  It is unfortunate that one person can be allowed to push good employees out the door.  Would not recommend as long as current MD still in there.  The clients were not happy with his condescending mood either.

You have the opportunity to listen to clients and do the best you can to make them feel good

Preference between relatives working in the same shift

Too much drama and disrespectful from bosses 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up clients 
Make sure they get theirs meds
Encourage to make their beds and clean up their houses 
Drive them to the center
Encourage them to go to group 
Handle their breakfast and lunch
Drive them back to Property

They try to make you sign an NDA as a therapist - stating that you cannot work at any other treatment center for two years - not legal. If you leave with less than 30 days notice their policy is to pay you minimum wage. Promises about supervision,  caseload number, and time off flexibility that were made in interview were not followed through on - overall was very mislead in the interview. Incredibly toxic culture - bad reputation in the local community. 

A typical day at work is a fast paced, quick decision making, crisis management and rewarding. What I have learned is that detox can be clinical, and working with a mix population that requires to apply an array of social skills (KSA). The workplace culture is supportive and team oriented.  The hardest part of the job is making a placement (aftercare) with a pt that has no insurance coverage.The most enjoyable part is seeing a pt return to speak at the facility

Recovery By the Sea is terrible job! BHT's are overworked, underappreciated, and underpaid. Expectations from management on BHT's is unattainable creating hostility amongst shifts. Location and condition of housing is in the ghetto and appalling. Management make new rules up everyday and techs are blamed for everything. Too cheap to pay cleaning service making staff clean everything including toilets. This place is reason regulations are put in place here in Florida. Stay clear and go to another rehab.

Laid back, yet very private. Staff is easy to get along with but due to high profile clients there is always an air of secrecy. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Group, one on one therapy, exercise, fun time, dinner .

I absolutely loved working at RIT. My coworkers were amazing and owners were always their to help an assist if any problems were to occur. They are extremely professional, and they show the love they have for their clients and line of work in everything they do. 
The hardest part of the job is the constant running around back and fourth doing transportation, however if you're a high paced worker this is the job for you.
