I would come to work and get direct report from off going staff. %99 of the time staff were mis scheduled so we would be short staffed. This made for a very dangerous environment. We were caring for psych patients usually between ages of 3-17. These were patients coming to and from Juvenile detention centers throughout Indiana and Illinois. This facility did a very poor job of overseeing that our equipment was in proper working order. We would be caught in a combative situation only to have our radios stop working. I also felt very uneasy about the lack of basic nursing knowledge by staff when it came to assessing the medical care provided to our patients, and lack of education provided. I left due to all of these very scary circumstances.

if you value your life do not apply here. they do not care about you at all. management is awful and do not care if you have a life outside of here. they will work you 12 days straight and not give  you the time off you request even if its for an appointment. you will get beat, hit, kicked, punched, chocked out, everything under the sun and they will not even bat an eye at it. the only good thing about this place is you can make decent friends. the only other good thing about this place is the food the kitchen makes. the kitchen staff is amazing. the money is not worth all the mental and physical abuse you will endure at this place. most of management is buddy buddy with a lot of staff and if things go south between you and one of the favorites they will pick their side over yours even if you have logical reasoning. they are also always short staffed and you will almost never get a break. please dont apply here if you want to have a life outside of work and actually value your life. 

Don't work here. There's so much favoritism here. If you write someone up and if the higher-ups are very cool with that person you are writing uo nothing is done. If you rebuke a nurse for being rude to you ,than you are at risk of getting written up. They schedule you for like 12 days in a row and you literally have to keep telling them not to do that. During family emergenies or if you're sick u will get written up for calling in. There rarely critical. If a patient attacks you here they expect you to act calm and collected , staff will think you are soft if you ask to switch units if a patient has triggered you. Too many people here get into eachothers business amd try to sabotage relationships of there are couples that work here. If you date someone here don't tell a soul.most staff here are two faced. I will say tho I remain good friends with a few staff here but you could not pay me enough to come back here. Not surprised they were losing alot of people.

I tried very hard to work for this company, but found myself in an epic fail. The staff is centered around nothing but young people. They discriminate against older nurses. Nursing on floor orientation is basically nonexistent. If you ask for additional floor time orientation or have a legitimate complaint, you are immediately black-balled. And if you are an older nurse, forget it, they automatically hate on you. This is a very unsafe, unethical environment and unless you are in the clique, they use you and then throw you away. Nepotism at its greatest. People who say Harsha is “family” mean it, literally. I never missed a day of work while there, but many people did frequently and nothing was ever said to them. My recommendation, run away while you still can. This is a horrible place to work with their only concern being money. They terminated me which was the only good thing I got out of this horrible company.

This is a high stress job if you let if be.  It can be hard to leave things at the door but if this is one of our strengths then you will thrive here.  You can make a difference in someone's life when they are often times at their lowest.  The pay is good especially for not having experience and there are different shifts that are offered which is perfect if you are still in college.  a lot of people complain about the Accrued time off but what I quickly realized is that it seems that people aren't using it appropriately. Often times, staff will call in draining their time or cash it out and then don't have any when it is time to request time off.  We get almost 4 weeks a year!! that is unheard of from my previous employers. 

When I first started HARSHA  was the best place I have ever worked. Now I dread going to work and am miserable every second. Management has no clue what goes on with staff and patients. Management doesn't take complaints seriously. There is no option to advance and raises are the lousiest I have ever seen. We are always short staffed and have begged for help but continue to get ignored. Staff members dissappear throughout the shifts but never get consequences. Poorly managed. Most of the things that go on in there are unethical and not safe for humans: I would never recommend anyone to send someone there.

I worked as at tech for about a year before moving to go to grad school.  Most of the people were great.  Pay was great compared to where I could have been working and I gained experience.  the kids are definitely the biggest challenge. They wear on your patience and you have to constantly remind yourself where they came from.  I think the key is to separate your work/personal life.  A lot of the techs I worked with were needy and constantly complained about there schedules.  I had no issues.  we basically schedule ourselves.  I worked when I was scheduled and didn't when I wasn't...pretty simple. plenty of opportunity for overtime. my supervisor was very approachable.  never really had any issues.

This is a very high stress, super multi tasking position.  Not for the lazy.  It is a very rewarding job with the most supportive management I have ever worked for.  I am now leaving due to retirement but I can't say enough good about the management I have experienced in the time I worked there.  I spent 15 years working for another mental health facility in which for the last 5 years the management was horrible.  Harsha encourages you to advance, supports you and stays in touch with you from the CEO on down. I have seen them take chances on new employees and support them in their advancements.  I wish I had went there years ago.

I’ve worked here for a total of 5 years and I don’t know why I’ve stayed this long. The job itself is great, but management plays favorites badly. You can do the same thing as several other staff and if they don’t like you, you’ll be the only one reprimanded. Very highschool like environment with cliques and bullying. Management does not care about you in the slightest. The higher ups will watch you on the cameras struggling on the unit and laugh at you instead of helping (this has actually happened). Constantly short staffed. They bring in dangerous acuity without considering staffing. Toxic work environment. If you aren’t a favorite or part of a clique, don’t expect any help when you get swamped. 

They have a horribly written contract, which you can easily get out of with a phone call from a lawyer. I would not even bother applying. They have a noncompete clause, which they translate as you can't work anywhere in the area, no matter if it is unrelated to what Harsha does (If you leave, they will not let you have a livelihood here)...Plus their ethics are questionable. BACB has investigated them, and their BCBA has been punished for ethics violations. They try to get staff to keep bringing in more and more clients, even though there isn't enough staff to be therapeutic. It's all about the dollar. There are also not enough BCBAs or technicians. They are also charging insurance for services that they don't complete. This is why decided to move on. I have a conscience.
