I love working at Headlight! I have been here for almost 4 years.  I started as one of the first therapists in my state and then was promoted to team lead. I work with a team of clinicians and also carry a caseload of clients.  Headlight is clinician focused and very client centered. . We have a very supportive work environment, we have a care team that helps us with many administrative tasks, we have an IT team available throughout our workday for any tech issues and we just recently got AI to help us complete notes much easier. I was skeptical at first but it is amazing and probably reduces paperwork time by 75%. I love that I get to manage my own caseload and scheduling. I do have to meet my productivity goals like everyone else but I feel supported in getting there. One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is interacting with my team of wonderful clinicians and my clients here at Headlight. 

As a full time employee, the pay is good, particularly the bonus structure makes it worthwhile. However, the company is hyper focused on productivity and hitting a certain number of billed hours. The circumstances that are beyond your control, and essentially cause you not to hit the numbers, don't matter to them. Clients can late cancel, no show, etc., yet you are still held accountable for hitting the number. The higher ups don't actually care about you as a person. They accuse you of underperforming or not putting in effort and then basically threaten to fire you. They're passive aggressive in trying to push salaried employees to step down into per diem positions, and are inaccurate in their reflection of "data". These people care less about the quality of care for clients, but only about the money they gain the higher that number is. Capitalism in FULL EFFECT. 

As an online therapist, I feel this company did an outstanding job through the pandemic! I have appreciated this company in so many ways as we all tried to navigate stress, demand, uncertainty. They provided flexibility without unrealistic productivity demands or micro management. They have had a clinical view for why they generally did things. As an experienced therapist, this worked perfectly for me (probably challenging for a newly licensed person.) They provide an online platform that's not horrible (but you do need to endure a remote desktop) but they do provide acceptable tech support.

However, they're currently undergoing major org changes, lots of new leaders, and are becoming very very administration heavy. I don't actually understand why they've hired so many people with titles that don't mean a thing to me. The messaging is of course that our jobs will be better but it seems to me the clinical staff will need higher productivity to pay for the deluge of non-producing employees. I pledge to update this review if things get better. Things were really good for me before and lots of good clinical work has been possible. 

They are walking the walk here -executive leadership understands that good clinicians are valuable to the organization.  In every interaction (even when I am frustrated) I am treated with professionalism and respect.  Some changes did not go as smoothly as they could but the entire leadership team is listening and willing to make shifts and changes as we go forward.  There is not a single person here who is anything other than kind - I have never seen anything like it in my life.  Anyone can have a bad day, but the interactions are 99.9 percent positive. 
The billed hour requirement is below industry standard and I am paid well and offered the opportunity to see more clients and earn more money but that is NOT required.  I am able to spend time with my family when needed - I am treated with care, compassion and respect.
Some people can see clouds on a bright sunny day.  We are challenged here to present solutions to our concerns and I LOVE that approach.
I am thankful for this opportunity, for the excellent benefits, for the work/life balance, for the ability to expand my role and my duties and to be a part of something that is downright amazing.

Headlight is, in a word, incredible. In my experience, it is rare to find a place that truly lives by its values, but this company does just that. From the start, it was clear that integrity, respect, and collaboration are the norm rather than the exception.

Compensation is more than fair, and the benefits package is comprehensive. Likewise, leadership genuinely respects personal time, which allows employees to recharge and maintain productivity without burnout. Flexible schedules and remote work options make it easy to manage both professional and personal commitments.

The company culture is inclusive and supportive. It's not always perfect, but I think great effort is made to foster an environment where everyone's voice is heard and valued. Leadership is transparent and approachable, and there are sufficient avenues for advancement. In short, it's rewarding to be part of a team that is passionate about what they do and who they do it for.

I recommend Headlight to anyone looking for a meaningful career with a company that prioritizes its people as much as its profits.

Before new CEO takeover, work-life balance was manageable. Since late summer 2023, productivity has been the main focus when it comes to workload. Introduced a new compensation plan that was being offered as optional, however less than 6 months later all clinicians who did not move to new compensation plan will be forced to move with the unspoken message of “take new contract or take your last paycheck and work elsewhere”. Many good clinicians leaving this company due to not feeling supported despite the “Clinician Obsessed” motto. State Team Leads are not provided information before changes being changed and are confused as to why their team members are melting down and threatening to quit. If motto really was clinician obsessed then the PTO to unlimited within reason as clinicians fear they must see as many clients as they can to ensure they make their required productivity to meet the same compensation on new contract as the old. New is not always better. Lower caseloads, better support to clinicians, less gatekeeping equals better clinician moral.

Headlight Health has done a complete 360 from what it used to be. The care coordination position is now similar to telemarketer role. It’s back to back non stop outbound calls. Most of the patients you speak to are rude. They pretty much force you to harass and peer pressure people into scheduling with them. They push the narrative that their processes are to help people but they seem to care solely on number of intakes.  You will leave each patient between 8-10 voicemails a week. They heavily monitor your work. They push you to change the way you speak, there is no pay transparency. Managers do their best to be helpful but at times are also unsure of what’s going on. Co workers are kind & have good team work. I would also they there isn’t much room for growth as the team has tripled in size since I started. Run away

Unable to make so called bonus numbers unless you are making up psychotherapy time or stacking 15 minutes med visits. Nobody is checking to see if the psychotherapy time matches the recorded time with the patient. This leads to the lowest pay in the industry especially for those with experience. Very high turnover for both medication and therapy. Unable to discharge a pt if not a good fit. Micromanagement from the top down. Replacing full time employees with part time people so they don’t have to pay benefits. If a service is not offered by them there are no community resources. Patients inappropriate for outpatient and telehealth are scheduled all the time. You must see a patient even if you know ahead of time the patient is inappropriate. 

I’ve been working for Headlight Health since 2022, and I have nothing but great things to say. The company continues to grow and expand. They truly care about their clinicians. It’s a great work life balance for someone with a family. They’ve been super supportive and accommodating. Since the moment I had an interview, I felt welcomed, warmth and encouraged to be my greatest self. I’ve learned to find a better work life balance with headlight and how it’s important to communicate what you need in order to thrive. The culture of this workplace is diverse and this is something headlight. The most enjoyable part is the flexibility and working with like-minded people. I would recommend to anyone seeking this kind of work environment.
