Even though their management is a disgrace, I still think I would recommend people to work there. And that's moreso to weed out the bad that's not left, and not been driven to leave because of things that have come to light and abuse they've allowed. I personally quit working there even though I love that job for many reasons, but mainly because the old nursing supervisor at the time that isn't there anymore, use to shame me in our meetings in front of everyone else when we would meet to find out where we were gonna be that day, I could never work fast enough for her, I couldn't ever do anything right,, I've been doing it for almost 10 years, but I left 6 months in because of how they treated the rarely good aides they had, there is some really good aides I still miss, the ones that been there since day 1, but there is some others that also abuse the residents and when reported and effects your career in it because you realize the only way to succeed to their standards, and keep that job as an aide, is to forfeit being able to sleep at night knowing you've done everything right, and loved every resident, and gave the attention, and care they deserved. To remain there I was told countess times how much wrong I was doing for this and that, or simply not "making" a resident who was terrified of showers, take a shower kicking and screaming. Literally. They moved me onto the other side of the building because I was spending too much time with residents when they would be upset, and crying, and said it's typical of some to be that way and I needed to just walk away, and that was their normal, and it didn't matter if they were upset because I had a job to do, and really wish I was joking that I was told that by a superior. And because of that constant write ups, 2 in one week even, that I had to restart orientation, and how to do things although I've been an aide for almost 10 years, and told them I won't sacrifice the ability to sleep because of what their asking of me to do that is NOT humane for anyone, and it isn't fair. I still suffer issues with my knee from an injury of a resident falling, and can't get any help because the nurse and the nurse supervisor didn't write any injuries, and that there was nothing wrong, so I can't even file workers comp. So that's great, thankfully one of those aren't there anymore, if that'll tell you anything. They accuse people of abuse, and do nothing about it but make them restart orientation that your taken off early without choice anyway 2 days later. I was taken off after 2 days, and that was because my 2nd day ever there I was the only Aide for 4 halls until someone came in 2 hours later, so my nursing supervisor who I liked at the time really tried to help me get people down and work with me, so yeah I'd suggest people to work there because there isn't anyone there to begin with. And that's why they lost more then 4 people before me even, the 6 months I was there, and then me shortly after.

Typically, I worked the 11 am- 7 pm shift. I would go in at 11 am and start lunch, putting food on plates and trays, and then onto the carts. I would push the carts to the halls of the residents so the nurses could hand the food out to them. Then, after all that was done, I'd help the residents in the dining areas by handing out their drinks to them. After they'd finish their lunches, I'd start the dishes, finishing all that around 1:30 pm- 2 pm. Then I'd prepare for dinner, by prepping drinks and deserts, rolling the silverware, and stocking the milk carts. By 4:25 it was time to start putting food on trays and trays on the carts for the dinner delivery to the residents rooms. Then I'd hand out the drinks to the residents in the dining area. After their dinner, another co-worker or myself would do the dinner dishes. We usually finished by 6:30 pm. I learned about time management and how to better use my time, as well as how to do some tasks more quickly and efficiently. My managers were very caring and always made sure everyone did their job right but were also taking care of themselves. The hardest part was probably just repeating the same thing over and over. The most enjoyable part was working with nice people and being able to feel accomplished at the end of the day because I did everything I was supposed to have done.

I have a grateful heart and a wider perspective thanks to Florence Park. My time there was breakthrough that commended my career to persevere into what it was foretold in my path. Taking care of the residents made my life so encouraging and enlightening. It gave me a sense of purpose that was fulfilling in more ways than one.

However, management and corporate like to play hide and seek, express their opinions when not needed and give the coworkers that work hard a hard time and give the workers who have attitude, come in drunk to work, physically/emotionally/verbally/finiacially abuse residents, who like to hide in rooms a pat on the back and say they are doing the best they can do. 

Not all nursing staff are bad there because there are some amazing coworkers there who care and share the same patient centered goals as you. Although there are some bad eggs which was the hardest part of my job there because you work so hard already and on top of being short staffed (so ratio as 1 aide for 25 or sometimes, 2 aides for 80 people).

In summary, on behalf of the facility, the nursing staff, and the work is reasonable and I recommend working there if you have a mentality to endure much nonsense.

The pay is great, the benefits are not, pricey. There are way to many chiefs and not enough Indians, go work there and see for yourself.
One of the nightshiftt supervisors is Amazing, they are blessed to have her.
There are numerous members of "management" that needs to be managed right out the doors, they and a few of the employees hang out together outside of work, so best believe that the emoyees that hang with management outside of work, they do get treated like gold and believe me when I say this, the one employee is dumber than a box of rocks and is Lazy, but keeps on kissing management hiney.
You get free lunch on nights, it is a joke also. You are better off just ordering out. 
Housekeeping is great, nightshift nursing is AWESOME, so are the Aides on nights.
They like most Healthcare companies need to learn to appreciate their employees, not just management.

This was a great company to work for until the current DON took over. Since then things have gone downhill. Unable to keep reliable staff due to her constant lies, no one likes or respects her, not even Upper Management. Speaking of which, Management is a total disgrace. They will allow us to drown before they leave their offices to help feed someone, answer a call light, or pass a pill. They will also clock out without hesitation at 3 or 4pm when they know night shift is going to be short staffed. If I didn’t have my co-workers I would drown the majority of my shifts. This place had such potential being a brand new facility but now it’s just like every other nursing home in the area: Short Staffed and full of disgruntled employees who are fed up and overworked. 

Activity Department was pure chaos. . I thought it was a red flag when all employees I met were new. Promised every other weekend at job interview, in reality worked every single weekend. They kept saying it would get better if more employees were hired, but employees kept quitting. The posted activity schedule was not accurate, other employees were asking questions all day, very chaotic and at times hostile. The residents were not the problem, new employees attempting to train each other and nobody knew anything about how management wanted things run. Very poorly run. The management was OCD to the seconds on the time clock.  I learned to trust my instincts when there is a red flag on my first day.

The place is made up of cliques and if you aren’t in you are out. Management has favorites and does not care at all about patient care they only care about a bottom line. Recently cut pick up bonuses due to lack of revenue and was also cutting over time for it. Charge nurses refuse to do their jobs and there are no repercussions for staff that are lazy and neglect their residents. In fact the harder you work the more you are targeted by the apathetic management and powers that be. You will always find other staff with less experience and low quality of work making more than you because they do not pay staff accordingly. Don’t work for them they do not appreciate hard work or devoted employees they rather have friends and low grade dispensable staff members.

The management here has stopped caring whether or not the residents get good care and started allowing poor care and ethics because a warm body was there filling a position due to under staffing.  They work with minimal staff. The residents are treated inhumanly. No one is held accountable for there actions. The building is filthy. The food isn’t fit for human consumption. This pandemic has shown that being a nurse doesn't mean job security and we should look out for ourselves just as these corporations look out for themselves. The staff here are not compensated for time off due to Covid. There is no appreciation. No security net for their employees who worked tirelessly through this pandemic. Let’s not forget that there hasn’t been a Medicare survey in almost three years due to Covid. 

depends on what time you go in. I usually worked 11-7. I would go in, pour my drinks, run try line, go out to dining room and give residents there drinks and food and sometimes feed them. I would wait for the residents to finish and then I would do dishes for 2-3 hours and get ready for dinner. While working there I learned better communication skills as well as opening up to new perspectives of how people are. The management was okay, there is a lot that could've been different and more stable for the residents themselves with better care advice. The hardest part of the job is the dishes, sitting in the hot room for 2-3 hours was hard but it wasn't too bad. The best part about the job was getting to know the residents individually and caring for them.

This was where my clinical was and it was a great experience. A typical day at clinical was to get there in the morning, get information on my patient, go out, do vitals and eventually head to toe assessment. After I get all that done i may pass trays, take out the trash, replace wash cloths and towels, etc. until i have to maybe give a bath, shower, etc. I would b working until it was time to go home. I learned ALOT from bettering my skills to learning new ones. I loved my coworkers, considering that most of them were students they really understood  the silly little mistakes we would sometimes make. I loved this experience so I cant really find anything hard. The best part was seeing those beautiful smiling faces each Thursday.
