Get ready to deal with difficult calls, difficult people, unreliable software tools that break all the time, and support that seems to vanish the second you actually need it. 

There's a lot of stuff to remember and keep track of, and it never gets any simpler. The software resources used are outdated, poorly designed, and getting specific info that calls often require is akin to pulling teeth. There are also a dozen separate logins to juggle, so have fun. There are chats dedicated to asking questions for when you're stumped, but it's helmed by leads that already have their own large workloads and are constantly in meetings. 'Use your resources." is a very common thing you'll hear since they're seldom available to help. Not the leads' faults, it's just a poorly designed arrangement.

There are tons of great and nice employees here which definitely helps, but it's a call center oriented job at the end of the day. Naturally you're going to be scrutinized over little things, micromanaging is big, and there's a lot of pressure to keep times low and survey scores high. You'll have to communicate with other departments a lot, and often times is a pain.

The attendance policy is particularly strict as well, very little leniency when life naturally happens. The pay is decent, but for the work you're doing it's a lot to take in and burn out is very common. Apply with care.

Sometimes leadership can be blind, there is a little bit of clique culture in some departments.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall, very nice. It's a nice little company.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For me, it was over work, overload with no appreciation. Refer back to comment on leadership being blind at times.

A typical day at work is a day where I am meeting with my direct reports, prioritizing work, working on a project, resolving a potential issue, volunteering for a community event or attending meetings.  I have learned and continue to learn ways to improve my work and assist my direct reports.  Management has an open door policy and we are a high performance cultured employer.  The hardest part of my job is finding time to do everything I want and need to accomplish by the end of everyday.  The most enjoyable part of my job is helping others.

The good: Positive work culture, dignity and individuality highly respected, truly easy to take time off as-needed, excellent culture of remote/hybrid/,flex-work options, benefits are average to good, of you work hard it's easy to be recognized and they pay well for the market (mid-sized company in Greater Springfield, MA area). The not-so-good: Many systems are outdated, lots of manual processes slow you down, so many meetings!

What a ride on a roller coaster!  Not open to new ideas; very accustomed to old ways of survival.  Disorganized, Silo ways of doing things internally. Departments don't communicate internally.  Lengthy, Unproductive Meetings were spinning on a hamster wheel.  Very Cliquey.  
Very unfortunate, because there is potential. Company needs to do some serious housekeeping to survive in the industry. 

Great new England is a great company coworkers are very helpful management is very understanding do have to learn a little bit of everything on the member service side, but once you get the hang of it the job become easier, it do you take about 6 to 8 months to get comfortable work from home as well

I started off thinking the company would be a great place to work. My department is terrible. Management is bias , uninformative and doesn't believe in empowering and motivating their employees. All they care about are numbers and set unrealistic targets and goals. Worst decision i made coming to this company.

It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a career with Health New England . It was an opportunity for me to learn and I learned a lot there and performance wise professionalism they were Absolutely phenomenal.

I enjoyed the work while I was in training.  Once the training stopped I found it was very stressful.  Answering phone calls related to health benefits and pharmacy questions were challenging at times.  I feel during my time there it was not a great match for me.  For the most part it is a great company to work for.
