The compensation and bonuses are very good.  That being said, if you are considering working here in any position, run and run fast.  The pay has to be good in order to keep people and even that doesn't work all the time.  Management shoves a "family" work atmosphere down everyone's throat but don't let that fool you.  Everyone talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.  I worked there for several years and saw many, many instances where coworkers are so caring to each other in person but then starts talking about them when they're out of earshot.  I've seen time and time again caring coworkers throw each other under the bus when the opportunity arises and then hug and console the person they just stabbed in the back.  I've never seen any place with so much cattiness.  Management is lacking to say the least.  They are there to push "meeting your measures", period.  They put out monthly reports to let everyone know which teams, company-wide, met their counts and which one's didn't.  It's all about getting money from the government.  If an NP and her team didn't meet every single goal every single month they get called out for it.  Your bonuses will be threatened every  year because of this - you can count on that.  And each team who doesn't meet goals will have to come up with a plan for next month for meeting them and it will be monitored.  It's all about the money and funding. The culture of the HPWO is fantastic on the big plastic plaque hung in every site but not in follow through.   "Let's take care of the people who are falling through the cracks everywhere else".  But the day-to-day is nothing but working short, piling on more and more measures you must meet while working short-or else,  backstabbing coworkers and taking it all home at the end of every day because you worked yourself to death and  you will get texted by your coworkers to talk about other coworkers behind their backs.  Go on their FB page and see all the "we love working here and each other" posts.  IT'S ALL PHONY.  I have no reason to be untruthful.  I left and can now see how terrible it was and the toxicity of the environment - from top management down to the actual workplace.  I can only hope that this review is helpful enough for someone to pass this place by and find a better work environment.

Great pay rate and that’s how they get people to stay for so long. Once people start speaking their mind or know too much about the ins and out of the company, the find a reason to fire them and it will be for anything because of their at will policy. Turn over rate is HIGH because of this. New employees training new employees. Management is very sketchy.  They like to hire family members and friends. The CEO and the DON are mother daughter.  The like to control their workers and if they can’t, they will fire u.  Gives great bonuses but u will definitely be working hard for it . Unorganized and high volume of patients. Things are constantly changing by the day. Lots of meetings and lots of side conversations about each other. All they care about are their quality numbers being met! They make up titles for people to make u feel like u belong. They will train anyone to be a medical assistant without any schooling. Those people will also be allowed to give vaccines to patients. They will sometimes have you working 2 roles MA/CR with no incentive pay.They will train anyone off the streets to be a center director with no management experience as long as they know them. You can be what ever title you want to be without any schooling or experience. They do this to make u feel good and control u. Your titles holds no weight. “ANYONE is replaceable” words from the CEO. MANAGEMENT IS VERY SKETCHY! 

When I first started working for Health Partners I was so excited! The pay looked great, the hours were good, and it didn't seem like too tough of a job. Unfortunately, as I continued working there, it became apparent all too quickly that the tasks written in my job description were not tasks I would be doing on a daily basis. 

When I first started, I would be assigned tasks such as cleaning the lobby furniture, mopping floors, scrubbing toilets, cleaning patient bathrooms, pulling weeds in the hot sun, cleaning up after messy employees, etc. I was not hired as janitorial staff, but I was treated as such, and I needed the insurance badly, so I stayed. 

The work culture was extremely unprofessional. There is no privacy within the organization, anything you tell your supervisor will travel throughout. If you go to HR, it will travel even worse, and you can be prepared for them to retaliate and make your position stressful if you don't keep your head down. 

You only have up to 3 absences a year before you are given both a verbal warning and not allowed to change positions within the company for 18 months.

Overall, awful work experience, way too many creepy men who get away with  inappropriate behavior. Would not recommend to any woman.

Health Partners of Western Ohio plays a vital role in providing access to care for underserved populations, and I valued the chance to contribute to that mission. The organization emphasizes efficiency and patient volume, ensuring that as many people as possible are seen each day.

In daily practice, dentistry is often limited to single-tooth, problem-focused visits — primarily extractions and basic restorations — rather than comprehensive care that addresses long-term oral health. Over time, this model can be discouraging for those who entered the field to restore and maintain full oral function.

The organization is administratively led by medical professionals, not dental leadership, so the dental perspective is often underrepresented in decision-making. At one point, leadership even suggested that nurses applying SDF were equivalent to adding more than a dozen full-time dentists — a statement that speaks volumes about how dentistry is understood and valued within the system.

The pace is fast and the workload heavy, but the team on the ground is dedicated and cares deeply about patients. Overall, this is a good opportunity to gain experience in public health dentistry, but those seeking mentorship, skill development, or a comprehensive care model may find it a difficult fit.

They hire you in knowing you lack experience in things in their office and offer to train you no problem, but what they expect you to know is a whole lot with very little training and tell you to use your resources instead of teaching you hands on. The person training me personally was Transitioning into a new position herself so I feel like I did not get that full hands on, because I was to excited to room people on my own and they let me. Then without even a good reason or letting me complete my 90 days I was let go right at Christmas time!! Why would you not let your new hire who is new to pretty much everything in the office work complete their full 90 days??  Then HR did not Reply to my email when I reached out. They initially took a month to call me back to even get hired, I should have taken it as a sign. It's a shame for employees, but the 2 current providers are great and care does not lack.

After working here , the only positive they have is the pay and the bonuses . All they care about is the next dollar brought in by the next patient , they used to stress take care of the patient in front of you and the numbers will follow , somehow it’s changed and now it’s all numbers . Cram schedules full of patients with rushed care and long waits . There are no rules , patients can walk all over you and make their own schedule for your day and you can’t turn them away . Half of the Center Directors don’t know how to do their job , they want to micromanage and act like they are involved but they spend more time out of the office or with the door closed and unavailable . They want employees to assume responsibilities for other employees instead of holding people accountable for their work but not pay for being in charge . You’re just another person here , they will recognize people who haven’t done a thing , over those who have done everything , and don’t ask the higher ups they have no clue who you are . 

A typical day at HPWO is stressful. The volume of patients seen in an 8-12 hour shift makes it difficult to provide quality care. The management is terrible! They tote great quality care as a front. The care provided is to meet the numbers the government wants to provide the grants needed for operation. The company is ran by one person who hires her mom, mom's friends, best friend and church members in high administrative positions (even though they are not qualified and do no perform well). Many experienced hard working staff members have  left HPWO due to administration. Many are there until student loans are paid off and then leave contributing to a significant turnover of providers. The patients complain about the turnover. It is rewarding to care for those who have no where else to turn. But the administration makes this place a terrible place to work.

Health Partners of Western Ohio is an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) located in Lima, Ohio. HPWO is a company providing healthcare to the unisured patients of the community.
I learned many great skills while working at HPWO among those compassion and hard work. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist and part of a very small billing team, I was responsibile for all aspects of outpatient billing. Responsible for payment posting, claims submission, account receivables, workers compensation, deliquent and denied claims, software programing, special projects, Medicare and Medicaid billing including DDE and MITS.
On a daily basis, I was interactive with patients explaining statement and also EOBs. This was the most enjoyable aspect of working for the company, patient interaction.

What is the best part of working at the company?
close  minded facility, kiss your opinions goodbye because they dont matter there. tried to discuss how the one NP had a god complex and was told i should never question an NP or MD. Said NP wanted us to practically force patients into pap smears because its all about number to get funding back from the government. they could care less, your just a number, your replaceable. DONT WORK HERE SERIOUSLY.

supervisors are terrible, money driven not patient driven

could cut the tension with a knife. catty people.

suppose to room and care for patients but was given the work no one wanted to do and doing the job of 3 people in once clinic.

A healthcare organization that puts mental health at the forefront of care for patients and staff! Great place to work for counselors and social workers. This company is amazing if you understand the goals of an FQHC and are willing to be flexible with the ups and downs of a growing company. Healthcare in any setting can be tough but so rewarding when you care for those who are underserved and/ or non insured. The volume of patients seen on a daily basis can be overwhelming at times if short staffed, but where isn’t right now. Admin does care about the well-being of staff and offers great perks.
Id encourage anyone on the fence to give it a try, certain reviews can be misleading and you’d miss out on a great company!
