Throughout the many years I worked at this company there was a very high turn over rate. I heard over and over from clients they were "tired of starting to make progress with a therapist and then the therapist would quit and they would have to tell their story all over." HS does not treat their employees well - burn out was a consistent feeling throughout the office, employees are overworked, management hyper-fixates on documentation, you are expected to complete 10 to 12 hours of work in an 8 hour work day on a strict timeline (I always worked through my lunch), supervisors are unqualified for the challenging client demographic your caseload will consist of, the whole company is 'productivity' driven,  you will be promised bonuses that you will not receive, you will be asked to complete trainings outside of work hours and not be compensated. Overall my work experience at Health Solutions was toxic, significant micromanagement and negative. I need therapy after working there.  

This is the typical community mental health clinic that thinks more of quantity than quality.  The counselors are overloaded with clients and having to use an EHR that is so cumbersome that it takes more than the allotted time to do documentation. Clinicians are stressed out and management and co-workers do not talk to each other. Clinicians are regularly working many hours over the 40 hour work week to get administrative work done. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping clients.  The rest is the hardest as the morale is low and there is little support for workers.  Quick to punish, not to praise, bonuses only on meeting a quota, and workers are held to quota.

I have some great bosses and great co-workers. I’m able to independently work and give feedback on improving processes. And some of those suggestions have been implemented. Good work culture. Accountability is important but definitely not a punitive environment. And I’m compensated well. You have to be flexible and be willing to help out where you can if needed, but I don’t find myself being pulled in too many directions (which is the case for nurses in a lot of places). When hired on, I was told by others that this was a good place to work, and I would agree. 

They will run you ragged just like most canned mental health companies, and this is THE mental health group that serves the Medicaid population in earnest.

The orientation is really long (like 5 full days) and they will inspire you with how they want you to thrive and the oh-so-wonderful principles about what the company stands for. The reality though, is you'll be worked like a dog and don't expect much support. It'll be hit or miss over whether you get a decent supervisor and/or boss. 

One positive: They are the most generous in pay.

Managers and other higher ups were great at getting employers training and other necessary things to perform job duties. Fast advancement within company. Great pay. The only problem i had with this company was the lack of PRN staff for the mental health facilities. This made it hard to take time off for full staff without having a short staff and made it hard on PRN's being overworked.

This organization supports our community by providing vital services. This work is not for the faint of heart and will require grit and determination but is very fulfilling in many ways.   If you are willing to put in the work you will be recognized for your service. People who care about people. I am proud of the work I do supporting my community and I am proud to be part of this organization. 

The position I held for almost 7 years was grant funded yearly by Temple Hoyne Buell, so, in September, they applied for the next year funding and the funders let us know by December 15th if we were funded for another calendar year.

I work 30 hours per week, M-Th.  I  Health Solutions provides activities, bonuses, summer picnic and employee appreciation activities to make employees feel valued.

I highly do not recommend. High case loads and no support from management. Co-workers and management gossip about other co-workers that do not fit into their little clique. Co-workers and management also gossip about clients as well.  The pay is decent, but not worth the stress at all. I enjoyed helping the clients, but the work life made it difficult to stay. The atmosphere is negative. 

Good staff to work with, I really enjoy my job. The staff works as a teem,  and management is good and professional.


I do a group, and three to five one to one's with the clients, I do safety check and wellness checks every 15 to 30 minutes.  I do intakes and discharges of clients.  I help assign clients to to their rooms and and give them a tour of the facility and read them the rules and their client rights.

Health Solutions doesn’t support people of color. I wanted to continue to do my job, but I felt uncomfortable, not supported, and blind sided. The culture is nonexistent, a lot of stuff gets swept under the rug. One of my “supervisors” said “ let’s go ride around the east side and get some clients” totally inappropriate. That wasn’t even the gist of racist things I encountered working there. So good luck😀
