I would not recommend working here. This place is the worst place I’ve ever worked at and I have worked at some horrible places. The people are rude and don’t help out their teammates at all. The assistant manager is either always gone with a migraine or angry one minute or faking being happy the next. She also goes around telling others in the pharmacy why other people get called into the office or written up. The manager encourages the drama in this place and doesn’t want to deal with anything other than making sure the homes are happy he could care less about his employees unless you are one of his favorite employees or suck up to him. People can show up 15-20 minutes late. If you are one of the managers/pharmacist favorites you are allowed to do nothing but stand around and talk while the rest of us get yelled at for working and talking at the same time. The back line supervisor will only tell certain people to get to work but not the people that are standing around talking. The assistant manager sits around talking bad behind people’s backs with other employees. The hr lady came to the store and she just took notes and nothing changed from her coming. The managers boss came and she was super rude and did absolutely nothing to fix the problems. Just told us all to grow up. And now we still have the same problems and managers that don’t care about fixing the problem. There are so many employees looking for new jobs but if the managers find out that they will fire you on the spot. Too much work not enough pay. You can work at another pharmacy and starting pay is $15 that’s even without being certified where here even with experience it’s less than $12. Just a overall horrible place to work. Definitely recommend looking else where for a pharmacy job.

I have worked here for a few months and there are both good and bad points to this job. One good things is that you basically CANNOT get fired. Once you have this job it is almost impossible to get fired. I have seen people do some really stupid stuff and still not get fired. Also, there is free food sometimes. The pay is ok for the job, but could be better. There are benefits if you are full time and they are pretty decent. 

Now for the bad. Management here has no idea what they are doing. It is like watching high schoolers trying to run a company who all refuse to ask for help or admit that they don't know what they are doing. No one communicates with each other and it take 2 months to get any request to go through. You want a calendar for your desk, you'll have a 2019 calendar in 2020. Even when you try to point out issues or make suggestions to make things better it just falls on deaf ears. They are also super strict about the 40 hours thing. If you fall even 1 hour below they take it out of your vacation time. 

If you are looking for a place to grow or make contributions, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place to come to work and do the same thing over and over again until you die with no sense of pride in what you do, then you've found the perfect place.

I have been working at HealthDirect in Rochester, NY for nearly 4 years and it is hands down the best career move I could have made.  My job is enjoyable every day.  I get to work directly with our customers and have met so many wonderful people along the way.  My job entails meeting with our customers on a daily basis, as well as, in-servicing facility staff on our policies and procedures, coupled with our online portal training.  I also help facilitate the implementation of new accounts as they transition over to our pharmacy.  

On "the inside", I work with a fantastic team.  Starting from Management and all the way down the line.  Because our company is employee-owned, we all have a vested interest in the success of HealthDirect.   In turn, HealthDirect has a vested interest in its employees as well.  This in itself makes our company quite unique.  HealthDirect offers a very generous benefit package which includes our 401(K), PTO, Health Insurance, discounts at our retail stores and a slew of Employee appreciation functions that I've never witnessed anywhere else.  This is truly a wonderful company to work for and I'm grateful every day for my job.

Where do I even begin this place doesn’t care about its employees all they care about is making money. They cut hours of the technicians the people who work the hardest and get paid horribly like it’s no big deal but heaven forbid the pharmacist and salaried management don’t get a raise. Come on now the managers and pharmacist make $50+ hr while the rest of us are lucky enough to make $11 if that. Not to mention the ceo has come to our building to fix “a problem” with bullying and favoritism yet not a dang thing was done to fix the problem. You have numerous people telling you what the problem is yet all you do is talk to the person how many write ups does a person get before you take actual action. This is not a safe or comfortable environment to work in. People are allowed to talk about their intimate personal lives which is gross and inappropriate. The pharmacist and mangers hangout with employees and get drunk and text their favorite employees in an unprofessional way. The pharmacist and Managers only care about collecting their pay check and going home. I Highly recommend looking else where to employment.

High volume, high stress data entry position. No formal orientation or training program.  Other employees hostile to questions because already stressed out from work load. Managers over-worked and/or hostile. Managers often absent from facility all at one time. Expected to take phone messages for managers with no knowledge of their schedules.Told by personnel manager that company does not value pharmacy tech certification.  Constant pressure to go faster. Company takes on more facilities than it can handle with no advance planning - for example, databases not updated with new information to speed up workflow. Co-workers disrespectful of personal work space; constantly eating in cubicles; hanging out at cubicles and chatting.  Poor janitorial services. Only 3 out of 4 stalls working in restroom for 30+ women. Not enough lockers; not enough hangers/space to hang up coats. Deplorable conditions in lunch/break room - overflowing garbage cans; food left on tables, chairs and floor; months old spills never cleaned up in freezer/refrigerator.

I had a good experience working in the health direct pharmacy. I acquired a great deal of knowledge in doing the filling and blister packaging of drugs either in dailies, short cycle or full-cycle order (ordered in 30, 60, or 90 days’ supply). While doing the blister packaging, I learned about the adherence and compliance of patients, along with the indication of drugs prescribed by the healthcare practitioners. Also, I do in bulk packaging of diapers, insulin, underpads for men and women, and some prescription and over the counter in bulk. Finally, I filled and packaged narcotics, also in a blister packing. As an intern, I followed the pharmacist to the residential care home for patient check-ups in terms of adherence, compliance, and counseling. 

The coworkers and staff with whom I worked are open to communication. The pharmacy facility hours are flexible, and the facilities management put into consideration for every faculty: technicians, interns, and pharmacist. 

I am honored to say I enjoy working and being part of the direct health pharmacy.

There are clicks like high school, the demand of work expected of you is very hard, and management is immature, mean, and terrible at their job. I’ve had a GREAT pharmacy job for 5 years after leaving that place. I told the manager from the start that I had to leave at the end of my 8 hour shift to get my child from childcare and she was fine with that upon hiring me, but they always EXPECT you to stay later if your closing so all of a sudden it turned into an issue again after the manager said it was okay at my interview. One girl in particular was awful to me and I made a complaint to a supervisor who happened to be friends with her (fraternization much?) and then I was set up to be fired. I brought them to court and I won. This job is the worst and I hope it shuts down someday. Again I have a great job now and I am just going out of my way to write this review  to help whatever poor soul tries to work here. You’ll have panic attacks in your car before you go into work trying to braces yourself for the day to come and people you will work with.

There is no work life balance. Some days you work 8am-10pm. The only person that was willing to stay late and help out so that we could get done at a decent time was Let go because upper management and the pharmacists and techs failed her. Pharmacists allow errors go to the homes on a daily basis. One pharmacist falls asleep at the computers on a daily basis. Another pharmacist will tell you one thing then turn around and do another. All Pharmacist leave at their end time not caring if the rest of the staff have to stay late, they will not help anyone get things out on time. Its always his/her word against yours. No-one listens to you when you have ideas. Its their way or the highway. They do not pay you enough to work the hours they expect you to work when the management leaves early and is not there most of the time. The technician run the facility. 

A typical work day should be 8:30-5:30 We didn't off on time and the pharmacists were not compendated for any of the  overtime.  I felt like my license was being put at risk.  Management was great as long as you said yes to everything. As soon as you said no they were awful.  The filling/processing technicians were fantastic. We also  had 1 billing technician who was exceptional and always helpful. Work place morale was very dependent on the billing supervisor and the facility manager, many days it was horrible. It is a pharmacy that has 3 full time pharmacists. In the last 5 years there have been 11 pharmacists that have been employed that no longer work at this location. 

No guarantee on full time hours. If you don't get 30 hrs as a full time employee they will deduct the needed hours from your paid time off. In all fairness if you realize you wont get 30 hrs and tell them they will find enough work for you to get over 30 hrs. Most of the time you will end up working 30 plus hours. Rarely get 40 or more hours. If your full time you have to be on call 7 days a month which also means since our work week goes from Thursday at midnight to Thursday at midnight with most weekends off you will work 12 days in a row with 7 of them days being on call meaning they can call you anytime  day or night. After your on call you get the weekend off but the next week of work you will work Saturday too having Sunday and Monday off. There is a chance they will split your days off that week.
