I usually open my center, handle any call offs, schedule changes, follow a task list to go through the steps of my roll, payroll, credentialing, hiring, meetings, spreadsheets/data entry, intakes, etc. I have learned a lot in this company from where I started as a behavior technician to now as a manager. I've learned to be open minded and be entrusted to make decisions off of performance and numbers. I've learned how to professionally conduct difficult conversations with compassion, care, and humility all the while still standing on business when it comes to policies and procedures. This is my first management role and I have been given grace and a chance to grow within my role. Management has always listened and made me feel valued as an employee. This job feels like family. Workplace culture is everything to me. It is encouraged to be your own individual and lead your team how you see fit while staying within the company's core values. It's enjoyable and the company is always looking to improve, grow, reach the community, and just overall help. The hardest part of the job for me is just managing people in general and personalities. The job itself is not hard but people sometimes make it hard whether its attitude problems, not following company rules, difficult families, etc.sometimes just the mental load you carry while trying to do your best sometimes thats not always seen, not by the company but by some of the families for instance some families expect perfection and although we strive for close to that everyday sometimes the exceptions are unattainable and unfair, no matter what you're set up to fail and make for difficult and complicated relationships. Another example with me as a manager I feel like the employees don't always value you when you try so hard and pour so much of yourself into them. You can train and accommodate and exhaust yourself and people will still need more from you and or quit without notice leaving you and the rest of the team struggling and without answers. Or overall unteachable, uncoachable employees who cant see their own flaws and or take accountability. Thats tough to manage. Also not letting things get personal. Management is always there to help though through these difficult situations. The most enjoyable part for me would have to be seeing the progress the kiddos make, helping families, and help lead and coach others to be their very best!

I work at one home, receive report as I come on, care for the patient in their clean home providing  relief to hard-working, loving parents. A typical day involves putting the child to bed, hooking up needed equipment, assuring it is working correctly, monitoring through the night, providing needed treatments, tube feedings, medications, cleaning up used nebulizer kits, etc. I sanitize the area and equipment each shift to lessen risk of illness. The hardest part of the job is having unplanned time off when the patient is hospitalized, feeling so bad for the patient/family and also missing out on paid work. The most enjoyable part is watching the patient achieve things "they" said he would never be able to do, and to know you were part of his achievement!

The company as a whole does not take COVID precautions seriously, which puts clients and staff at risk. The supervisors are extremely unprofessional and unsupportive of their staff. The scheduling is inconsistent and behavior technicians are taken off of clients without communication to the technician or the clients. The supervisors are full of themselves and condescending to technicians. Supervisors rarely provide constructive supervision and often do not provide the required amount of quality supervision (e.g., they will be on their computer/in a different room when they are supposed to be supervising you). They prioritize advancement to leadership roles to employees who have been there the longest even if they do not have formal training in ABA over those who have strong background in ABA. Overall, this company is awful and I would highly discourage anyone from applying here, especially if you have a background in ABA/are going into the field because you will be VERY dissatisfied with the quality of services and supervision provided. 

Mercy Plus Healthcare Services has a clearly defined mission and a workforce that is generally committed to patient care. Operational effectiveness, however, is impacted by inconsistencies in internal policy execution and cross-department communication.

From a process standpoint, clearer policy definitions, real-time documentation, and stronger coordination between HR and leadership would reduce operational risk and improve employee confidence. Addressing these areas would support retention and create a more predictable and transparent working environment.

Mercy Plus on paper is great and they give you a lot of the bells and whistles to start with. They then take them away they make you work way more then 40 hours and do not give you the benefits for that. As a clinician be ready to bill at least 30 when your contract states 20 and when you ask for help you will get talked down to and treated like it is your fault that you can not do it if you don't get written up for poor job expectations. They continue to value operations over clinical and will question any part of the clinical side that you bring up. They micromanage every aspect of the clinician but operations sit on their phones or decorate the center for 40 hours a week. Again when you bring this up you get yelled at or written up. None of the operations side takes accountability for anything they due and blame clinical for anything that goes wrong in the center and they will continue to go to the bosses and tell them that it is your fault so you get yelled at as the clinician. 

I love where I work. The team environment, responsive upper leadership, and purpose of the company makes it a place I want to be. Working with the clients makes everyday different and overall enjoyable. We are a growing company with a lot of upward trajectory opportunities. The only thing I would say needs improvement are a slightly higher salary for my role, and a medical benefit cost reduction. 

However,  I understand we are a growing small business, and the company has made huge efforts to increase the pay for our Part Time Behavior Technician staff which is incredible. I will always get behind investing in our Techs. They truly have a good wage now. 

Mercy Plus is a wonderful workplace and I am truly proud to work here. This company values communication, work life balance, and feedback on how our lives can be easier at work.  Coming from places who preached these values but never actually executed them, it's amazing to be a part of a company that actually practices the values they speak of. 

Mercy plus has poor log in apps. And there are never any time sheets available even when you call to keep them posted on things you need they dont come right away their office is way in flint and they have to pull up to random places to drop off supplies, their clients complain about the company to the staff they dont interview their clients before they hire you so they basically let anyone work for them as long as the background checks out they dont pay you if your clock in app doesnt work and they know you dont have time sheets after you tell them time after time even if you sign the care plan that you worked they'll tell you they never see those for months unless there is an emergency where they have to come out so whats the point of having us sign them mercy plus is not a place to work or put your loved one under their care they i had a client say primary HHA is better than mercy, they wont payvyou but they want you at work smh MERCY PLUS IS A NO GO!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. Maybe the hours and that's it 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I didn't even get past the training. Pasted up many opportunities to be here just to be let go because they felt I wasn't right for the position after 14days. Waited until I completed the LONG 40HOUR Computer training though 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The office staff is like a mean girl center, the trainers were training so no one knew what they were supposed to even teach you, and the main lead had an attitude so it made asking questions or anything of the sort EXTREMELY uncomfortable 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I wouldn't know what a regular day is because none of the people who actually work there or are assigned to train you even know what they are doing.

Mercy Plus is the last company any BCBA should want to work for. They promote being family oriented but they're trying to be big business, money hungry without the skills to make things work. There are clicks among staff, the expectations change weekly, and they keep requiring more work with less and less benefits. The clinical directors will lie to make themselves look better and run off any of the good employees. They promise benefits at hire and then remove them after you've been there for a while with no additional benefits to replace them. They truly have shifted to being penny pinching and all about the money. It's all about expanding and getting more money than improving the quality of life for their current employees or clients. Do yourself a favor and run.
