I am contracted by Healthcare Resource Network (HCRN) to provide nursing services as an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist for a federal agency. I am not physically located at the HCRN campus;therefore I can not fairly rate the company. I can only comment on the customer service I receive as a vendor to the organization. I am stationed off sight at the US Census Bureau . The work culture, while professional,  is relaxed and informal. 

In this role, there is no typical work day . The position requires flexibility and being able to make autonomous decisions.  Sometimes there are emergencies with the employees and I am stabilizing a diabetic or someone suffering with symptoms of a stroke. Some days I am teaching health and wellness principles or  I may find myself responding  to a trip and fall and immobilizing a limb.  I also collaborate with physicians to increase individual compliance.

With such a diverse role,  time management and prioritizing is the greatest strength I improved on or learned in this position.  The most enjoyable part of my job is teaching individuals disease management. The most difficult part of my job is convincing individuals to be compliant with their medical and pharmaceutical regimen to mange their disease process.

I have worked at the Thomas Moore Health Clinic on Ft. Hood since December 2009 after my 20 year service completion in the army. I have never worked with such a finer group of people aside from the leaders and soldiers I've served with throughout my career. I love the work hours that my company offers (40 hrs a week!) even though I wish I could accumilate a little bit more of time for PTO every pay period, but it's not too bad," I can live with what I recieve now". There is really not anything hard about my job except on a regular basis the days go fast and it's really not much of a break from the pace to even stretch, but I guess it's alright I enjoy serving the soldiers every day because I do this for God and country, and that alone give me satisfactory.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You do not have to see these people. They work many states away. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You cannot trust anything they say. The managers are unsure of what is going on. Everyone from the CEO to the payroll personnel are rude and unwelcoming.  The only communication you get is negative communication. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a lonely environment. You really have no direction. Very boring work. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It is very slow. The work is not hard. You have mixed communication from higher ups. They make new rules daily. They cannot keep employees. You never know if you will be doing what you were hired for or some crazy task of counting useless medical supplies one by one.

A typical work day begins at 7:30am and ends at 4:00 pm.  I complete the tasks that have to be completed on a daily basis. Which includes entering final data from the previous day such as how many visits entered the office. Other tasks are completed upon request. 

Management did not respond to employee concerns in a timely manner.  However most concerns when handled were handled effectively. 

Co-workers worked well together as a team.

The hardest part of the job was management making policy changes without effectively communicating with the staff members.

The most enjoyable part of the job was communicating with our clients.

40-hour work week. no overtime allowed. no weekends or holidays. No pay increases or promotions. No coverage for time off needed. Terrible benefits.  Very little skill needed. Company does not communicate well after onboarding about anything. Employee satisfaction is not a priority. Managment needs training in employee communication skills. You have a standard set of orders to follow and need a good nursing background in assessment and treatment. Will educate patients a lot on health and wellness. Great hours.  People I work with are pleasant. 

The people from the company i dealt with were caring and understanding. However, the client for which I was working was not, and the contracting company does not really have much of a say or "pull." I needed to make an EEO complaint, and the client for which I worked NOR the contracting company could help me, which resulted in continued harassment, ultimately resulting in serious illness and hospital visits.

HCRN is a small woman owned business.  The owner is fair, honest, and transparent. 
The president of HCRN has taken the time to form strong relationships with all members of the team. If someone has a concern, the concern is immediately addressed.  When employees call, there is always someone there to pick up the phone and respond to any questions or concerns.  
   

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with management is great. They stand for their employees. Pay is competitive for area. Overall, a great experience.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being a Contractor working in the government. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
HCRN is very supportive to the employees.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Treating employees and performing clinical testing.

The pay is low. They typically hire older retirees nurses as per diem. If you need benefits, forget about it. The increase in insurance cost outweighs the annual raise. No opportunity for growth, no feedback or interaction after you are onboarded, no bereavement, fmla, or basic courtesies like CPR/ license reimbursement. Overall, one of my least favorite companies I have ever worked for. 

The pay was fair. Started to earn PTO hours within a month. Holiday pay was based on a formula, so you didn't get a full day's pay if it fell on your work day unless you were a full time worker. I was only part time.
The biggest problem I had was the ability to contact my supervisor to explain and get guidance on a work issue.
