The hardest part of my job  working as a care giver is loosing a patient who has died from some internal sickness beyond physical  and medical control ; why it is hard because being a care giver you develop a certain degree of bonding with the patient and so the patient demise has some degree of effect on you as an individual because you have exhausted all knowledge you were taught  in caring for the patient but yet you were unable to prevent their demise. 
The best part of the job is when your presence makes a difference in the patient life because you make them smile, sing, play and give them  hope to look forward to see the next day . The work place culture must be clean, trustworthy,  honest , dependable and your
work ethics of professionalism must always be demonstrated. I learned as a cna that life is a gift and is not to be taken lightly, i learned that everyone is an individual and must be treated with respect no one is less than but all are equal in the sight of God,  i learned that my job is important and must be done in accordance with the company policy rules and guidelines because people lives depend on how well i do my job. Management must always be notified of any changes that take place with the patient and a record of these changes must be kept for future references. 
A typical day at work for me is calling my patients to let them know im on my way , when i arrived they would be  up and ready for breakfast,  a big good..morning  and how was your night ,  in 10mins breakfast would be ready, usually oatsmeal with peanut butter to flavor, waffles with peanut butter and jelly  large cup coffee scrambled eggs, and a sml glass cranberry juice. I prepared  their medicine for them to take. 
Lunch could be a bowl of chicken salad with milk or a cheese sandwich 
If the weather is good we go riding for 15 to 20 mins in the gocart within the community ; they lived in a 55 and older gated community, my patients were mobile not bedridden , they enjoyed feeling the wind and evening sun on their bodies.
Sometimes i would take them for their medical routine visits when required. Three thirty supper is served usually very lite vegetable soup or babyribs with veg 
They usually  watched the news of the day , then they watched movie usually from the sixties. sometimes i entertain them with my cultural musical background  or they assembly the puzzles of their  choice, five pm my shift ended. I make sure all blinds are close, the stove shut off and clean, dishes clean  and put away final medicines will be taken , then they are washed and clean and ready for bed i take my exit and say goodbye for the day

If you're okay with not having any benefits of any kind and need flexibility in your schedule Helping Hand is an ideal place for you. Independent contractor work so no taxes taken out of weekly paychecks but be prepared to pay employer's share come tax time. Work as many or as little hours as you want as long as there is work.

Ive been with the company awhile i love meeting new peoples you have to love what you do an order to Love your job.I learned alot specially while you are caring for a client.The atmosphere is always right you have to be ready to have a atmosphere when go to work you can always change it.And help someone day become GREAT.The hardest part is some who may have a not so nice personality but you never give up on them in they will change.Most of all love them in whatever state they in Because there's power in Love.❤

Helping Hand is an integral part of our Polk County community having been here longer than any of the other agencies in Lakeland.  The office personnel is always available for our clients and caregivers.  Caregiver positions are quite flexible.  Caregivers are able to work many hours or fewer part time hours weekly.  The hourly working rate is quite good with several overtime holidays.  I personally work only part time and it is a very good company to work for.

I have worked with Helping Hand for 14yrs. I love providing the best quality care to all my clients. I feel a sense of purpose and reward to be able to care for them. I get along with their family members. They trust me with the care of there loved ones. I am appreciated every time I show up and do my jobs. I love helping them. The hardest part of my job is when I lose someone that I have been a part of their life. The best part is knowing I made a difference in their life.

if you like your emails or concerns being ignored... then this is the company for you. good luck calling and leaving a message about anything you wish to ask them. not enough clients and if you get stuck with a patient you wish to transfer out of...good luck with them getting back to you... theyre concern is getting ppl's money and paying caregivers the minimums!

My review is more learning, we need to have a meeting once a month so we can meet other co worker. We can alway play some word games about our job   The typical work day is always a surprise. The best part of the day is making my client smile. I’ve learned about this job that there something happen for a reason. The hardest part of this job is when you have to say goodby.

A typical day is a good day . And have learn a lot about the client  And the management is the best at Helping hands nursing service. And we are all treated the same .The hardest thing is when a client is set in there ways. The best thing is having a job to go to every day. And my self i love the office staff and i like working for helping hands nursing service.

The company has always had patients for me and has kept me working over the last 6yrs. they offered a great daily rate but no benefits due to me working as a independent contractor. co workers most of the time were really good caregivers and worked well with them.

If you have compassion for others and enjoy helping those in need then this is the job for you. You need to be engaging with the client your interaction provides enrichment. I find things my client enjoys and try to do those things whenever possible. I work a 3 day 12 hour shift so I still have time for myself and my family.
