I began working at Hillsdale Hospital as a new RN in 2010, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to start my career. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, thanks to the supportive environment and resources available here. Hillsdale Hospital is "Large enough to be of service, small enough to care". What does this mean as an employee? You will encounter patients with a wide variety of diagnosis, which will allow you to use a wide scope of your nursing skills. I know when I go to work my co-workers have my back, and when things get serious they are right there helping in any way they can. The management takes time out to listen to staff and hear their concerns of staff needs and patient safety.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing . People are rued . If you don’t know anyone your a number. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They are short staffed . Plenty of supervisors. Not enough staff for them to supervise. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture and work atmosphere is not desirable. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful with supervision overlooking the obvious. Reluctant to help their staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ER staff is awesome and work very well together as a team!

TERRIBLE staffing levels especially on night shift!!

Overworked and understaffed especially in ER

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, confusing and a total mess

The hospital administrator seems to appreciate the employees 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The hospital environment and never have enough employees

It's ok but in this department there are some issues with gossip and pettiness 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy, cleaning, you are constantly called by nursing for different things

What is the best part of working at the company?
The drive is under an hour from my apartment so that is convenient...          

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to float, getting much lower pay than travelers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Inexperienced nurses and poor management. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Too many patients and lack of communication from providers.

Working at Hillsdale Hospital is truly like working with family. I love the people I work with. I love knowing that everyone is here with the common purpose of providing the best care possible to our patients and our community. And I love knowing that I can always count on my team- from administration, to management, to frontline employees- to always support me as an individual and support the hospital's mission, vision, and values.

This is definitely a family orientation work environment. They truly do care about us and our families outside of work. They do not mandate you to work, but you always have room for over-time ands to switch shifts if need be. The PTO, benefits, and  my manager is great. They highly encourage education here which is fantastic as they help out a lot of people with schooling.
