You will see 8 to 16 pts in a day. The day entails driving, lots of charting, lots of phone calls and responding to emails. In my experience when I was finally done with work I would have worked 12 hours and only have a half hour before my kids went to bed. My husband had to work more at home with bringing kids to activities and taking care of them because I was rarely available. I only had 3 days a month without thinking or doing work. It got so bad that when I had a free day I only wanted to stay home and do nothing. I didnt want to see friends, do house work or even do the things that I enjoyed. I love bike riding but last summer I only went on one bike ride!  This job took over my mind and body. A dangerous part of the job is on call work I will be sleeping then have to wake up at 3:30 am to drive 45 min to go replace someone cathether. I drove home afterwards got 2 hours of sleep then worked a full workday of at least 8 pts. I really believe they need to not do on call from midnight to 8 am so everyone can have 8 hours of uninterupted sleep. My check would routinely show over 100 hours worked in 2 weeks. The health care is expensive too it take 1000 dollars out of each check. There is also a 6000 sign on bonus that I got payed to me in the first year but I didnt see the contract was for 3 years. So when I quit the last paycheck I got was zero. There is a lot of turnover because of people like me feeling overworked and put into dangerous situations.  If you have family or other things you want to do in your personal life I would not work here.

Okay, place to work to get the experience needed. You do receive experience from being on the job and learning new job skills on your own. If you're looking for advancement in your career. This isn't the place for it. You only get paid (hourly wage) per client you see! A lot of driving; they say up to 25m, but you drive over that!!! Make sure your vehicle has had a tune-up before starting!! CM doesn't like to give you clients to build your caseload. No yearly increase in pay. Flexible schedule (you make your own) when it comes to personal appointments you need for yourself. Other nurses will take your (assigned) clients if they're in the surrounding area to get the pay! Nice! Staff members in certain departments. Some nursing staff members are not friendly! You walk into the main nursing office (scheduling office) for CM/VN nurses, they don't speak or acknowledge your presence. You'll need to speak first, and even then, they don't say much! Some of the nursing staff will give favoritism to other nurses and pull the client's from your schedule and give to someone else. Not enough diverse staff nurses working!! (Beware) When they offer incentives for picking up extra clients, keep track on your own who you see or you will not get paid! They offer reimbursement for parking (keep copies of your receipts) when you see certain clients; it will be a challenge getting your reimbursement back!. If, you are a new nurse starting here.  Be prepared to get all of the client's other nurse find hard to deal with on your schedule. LBVS!!

patients and flexible scheduling are great. Its nice to be able to work in your area and care for a variety of people and ranges of care/assistance Orientation was interesting-girl made a comment "our terrible president" during her section of the interview, which i addressed as it was inappropriate and nonprofessional and an awful comment. Her supervisor came over and made things right though and it was fine. I wonder what kind of care givers they hire as the people i trained with just did not seem to understand patient care at all. like they didnt really know what they were signing up for. Orientation: that was really the only in person contact i had with company as i am an hour away form site. The texitng line and the emails regarding shifts is sloppy. There has to be a better system.  then you have Devero and then Alayacare and the texting line and the emails. Seems a little ridiculous especially at first when you first start but you get used to it. just a pain. they need a system where it is all in one place.

I gave this company 6 months in which I learned a lot. The dynamics and politics in this company can be bothersome. The favoritism and double standards that can be blatantly displayed by management is disappointing. A lot of staff is spread thin and under appreciated. Depending the department you work for internally can really dictate your experience with this company. I personally was struggling to come in to a negative and petty team. This does not mean there aren't great people here. But I know for me. Working for a privately owned company was fun but keep in mind HR isn't going to assist in any actual issues. And the benefits and 6 month period waiting for the benefits was draining. High turnover but if you have the experience and can look past the above you should be fine. There's a lot of room for improvement.

I would usually start by doing basic cleaning for her; dishes, vacuum, sweep, or start laundry. Whatever needed to be done that day.
Then I would do the things I needed her participation in; figuring out what she wanted for dinner, grocery list, or bills.
Finally id cook her something to eat, wed enjoy dinner together and then I would clean up the kitchen after dinner.
The best part was the fulfillment it gave me to help my grandma when she needed me. I loved being able to spend the extra time with her and share those days with her in the apartment I grew up in.
The worst part was that since she was my only patient, I only was able to work a limited amount of hours a week for her, so pay checks weren't very big.

Pay is based on a commission scale, work life balance is absolutely non-existent, they tell you you'll be able to chart and handle everything you need to during the day, but every single person I know working here spends hours and hours at home, and often you still fall behind. Constantly being asked to pick up patients last minute, even if you're overwhelmed with your own case load. Huge disconnect between management and clinicians. Management staff are great people, the structure of the company is just awful. They will basically throw 60+ patients at you and say "good luck", expecting you to see all 60+ patients during the week, most multiple times a week.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I experience difficulty getting paid properly. For 12 weeks I was not paid for all of the work I performed, which is why I left.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The head never talks to the tail, there is not good communication between nurses to staff, staff to staff and I had clients who were often confused about their expected services.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sync the app for your visits everyday, follow up with the scheduler with any changes for the day and then provide services for those clients.

HHCI has been a great place to work! Therapy team supervisor is the best I've worked with in 30 yrs. Attentive, organized, supportive and friendly. Scheduler is also great!  Upper management are approachable and truly care about their employees. There are some middle managers that are inflexible and unfriendly at times.  Scheduling is  flexible within the 5 day work week. Weekend coverage is fair.  Discrepancies noted in salary/compensation among clinicians with similar work experience.  There is no compensation for therapists who have territories with longer drive times between patients.  The most enjoyable part of the job is the patients but the clinicians working in adjacent territories are supportive and always willing to help out with coverage if needed

Poor management, lots of turnover, disorganized, lack of clear communication, dishonest in interview about work load, training, and expectations. It was difficult to meet the weekly point system to get paid the base salary with only 4 days of training( in interview was told I would have at least 2 weeks). You only get paid for time with patients, no compensation for time spent on paperwork, driving, or no show/missed patient appointments. There is potential to do well at this job but need to be willing to put in a lot of extra time up front- would be easier if you already have multiple years of nursing experience and experience in a home healthcare setting.
